IPod Touch No Longer Syncs After Upgrade to 10.8.3

I recently upgraded my computer from OSX 10.5 to 10.8.3. But while my iPad seems to sync fine, my iPod touch no longer syncs and it is not recognized by the Apple store. Please help!

When I plug in my ipod, a message pops up that says:
"This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPod (my ipod name). Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?
     >If you do not authorize this computer, 191 songs will be removed from the iPod"
I click "authorize"
Enter my apple ID (note that for some reason it keeps bringing up an apple id from 2006, even though the computer and ipod are from 2011 and 2010.)
Then it says "this computer is already authorized"
And every time I plug it in, the same thing happens.
Sorry I wasn't clear before.

y iPhone 4S no longer syncs after upgrading from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 - any solutions out there?

Thanks - got stuck with the upgrade to 10.6.8, but Apple Support was able to navigate me through that, the date settings caused a problem here.

  • IPod Touch no longer syncing with iTunes?

    Mac OS X v10.4.11
    - all software up to date
    - iTunes 9.2.1 (5); no later updates available on this machine
    iPod Touch v3.1.3
This iPod Touch used to sync to iTunes just fine and dandy. Now it won't. I'm seeing that *now* in order to sync I have to upgrade (i.e. get a new mac) to v10.5?
    What gives?
Both used to sync fine and now they don't. Did Apple pull a fast one on me?

But my point is that one day it worked fine, and now it doesn't. Why would it stop working, if it once was supported? Did Apple push an update to my iPod which made it not supported by my machine? If so, that's pretty low.
If I buy a device and it works fine with my mac, it should stay working fine with my mac.

  • Ipod Touch won't sync after updating iTunes

I updated my iTunes and now my ipod touch will not sync, it says that the ipod is synced with another iTunes library when it is not, is there a way to get it to sync?

With all the synced media like apps and music in your iTunes library do the following:
    - Make a backup in iTunes by:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup. The above link includes that restore from backup instructions.
Somehow updating iTunes caused iTunes/iPod to think it was not synced to this library. That happens sometimes.

  • IPod touch 4,1 bricked after upgrading to iOS 6.0 and then 6.0.1.

    Hi all
I have an iPod touch 4th generation, 8GB. The other week I installed the new iOS 6.0 software update, from 5.1.1. after installing and rebooting the iPod just when black, I have assumed that it's been bricked, but how? It just stays black, sometimes it'll reboot, but then go black again, sometimes it'll do the infinite loop of death! Then I force it into Recovery mode, clicked Restore and after iTunes extracing the IPSW, it came back with error -1 ????? So I put it into DFU mode, then iTunes showed that iOS 6.0.1 was released. iTunes downloaded it, i put it into DFU mode and then restore to the new 6.0.1, and then everything goes well, untill it does the same as before, when I upgraded to 6.0?
I know I can't downgrade back to 5.1.1, Apple had stopped signing old ipsws, but I do however have my previously saved SHSH blobs, I can patch them onto my 5.1.1 ipsw, but I don't know weather that's illegal or not. SO, basically, my iPod is unusable.
    Troubleshooting - what I've done:
-I've deleted the 6.0 and 6.0.1 and being promted to download them again in iTunes, still didn't work
-I've tried reinstalling iTunes, current version 10.7, I run weekly Apple Software updates to get the lastest
-I've tried using different USB cords, Apple 30-pin connector cords, don't know if that was necessary
    What Haven't done:
    -Never Jailbroken this iPod
-Never moderated, read, write or execute any iPod software or any of the Raw system files
My iPod was just fine before all this crap happened, I depend on it for everything, although the Capacity isin't great, and the RAM is just ****, please someone help :'(

    Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Note the article includes :"the device may need service".:

  • My 5th Gen iPod Touch will not sync after I updated my iTunes

Right after I updated my iTunes on my PC, it will no longer sync anything. My apps, my music, everything won't sync.
It just says that I can't sync because I need more space (8.30GB to be exact). But before I updated my iTunes, everything was fine. The thing is I want my iTunes and iPod to synchronize with each other without losing anything.
    Can someone help me?
Also, my OS is already iOs 7.1

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync? It appears not.

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen. sync after restore

Authorized new hard drive for iTunes. Did backup then restored from back up, transferred previously purchased library to iPod Touch. Following restore, all purchased music, downloaded CDs AND games remained on the iPod Touch. Good so far.....then tried to sync device so all downloaded CDs would go out to the iTunes library, but got the message "iPod Touch is synched with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase his iPod and sync with this iTunes library? An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPod with the contents of this iTunes library." Don't want to lose the games and downloaded CD songs but sounds like that will happen if I click "Erase and Sync". Any suggestions on how to keep the games, etc.? Should I just ignore the message? Will that cause other problems? Thanks!

    - Transfer non-iTune purchassed muic to the computer by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - After everthing is on the "new" computer, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking one the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iod from that backup.

  • Why is my Ipod touch no longer syncing?

Just the other day, My Ipod Touch (4th Gen) was working- and syncing perfectly.
However, last night, the syncing seems to be not functioning after it gets to step 2 of 5 in the sync process. A message reads
that the disk cannot be found, or something along those lines.
I am using a Windows 7 computer and programming if this is of any assistance.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • Ipod touch will not sync after new itunes update

Ipod touch 4th generation will not sync after I updated the new itunes. Actually after I updated to the new itunes it deleted all my music from my ipod and refuses to reload. If someone could please help me that would be completely appreciated. I tried trying to sync each song individually but it didn't help (before it stopped syncing), then it stopped syncing, even though I have it hooked up it brings everything that I have on my ipod up but it won't do anything.

When I tried the first time it asked me if i wanted it to stop syncing and to restore. It gave the choices of yes and cancel, i didn't click either because the option box went away and it just stopped restoring on its own. I did the store again and now it is asking if i want to set up as a new ipod or to restore to Andrea's ipod. Should I set up as new?
Thank you Espeon for the article

  • IPod Touch WIFI Signal Fluctuates After Upgrading to iOS4

I upgrade to iOS4, and now my iPod Touch 3rd gen's WIFI signal fluctuates now matter how close I am to my Airport. I can be right next to the Airport and the signal will go back and forth from one bar to three bars. Never happened with OS 3.1.3.

For those having Wi-Fi issues... What level of encryption are you using on your routers? And is your router at full power? I'm not really having any Wi-Fi issues, I'm using WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] and I switch my router to full power after I started having the iOS4 batter problem. (it was on "Neighbor Friendly" Mode). I was worried that a weaker signal would contribute even more to the already existing battery drain and I'm figuring that having the encryption on the highest level is also affecting the battery as well, but I haven't tested the difference.
Using WEP + hidden SSID at home (I have some devices that choke on WPA). Open WiFi access with authentication at work. Router signal boosted from 42mW to 70mW using Tomato firmware.
Also, if you're using a Pre-N router, disabling "Neighbor Friendly" mode means you're using a ton of 2.4GHz channels. This prevents any neighbors near your home from using WiFi, because you've stolen all of the available channels. I had to set up my sister-in-law on Wireless-A, because her backyard neighbor hates her, and turned off "Neighbor Friendly" mode on his router. What a pain.

  • IPod Touch can't backup after upgrading to iOS4

I have an iPod touch 2G 8GB, and since I updated to iOS4 it restarts every time it tries to backup. This means that I can't sync, can't put new music/movies/pictures/podcasts on my ipod. I was able to restore, but since it still has iOS4 it still can't sync.
When it tries to sync, it will work fine until it starts "Backing Up "Fenrir"..." and gets to about ~20%. Then the ipod will appear to be loading (it will bring up the ring of dots indicating as such). Then the screen abruptly goes dark, and then lights up again with the apple logo. iTunes loses contact with the ipod, though no error message is given, and then it shows up again as though it was just connected. This happens consistently, exactly the same way, every time I try to sync.
Any solutions? Should I just go back to an older version of iOS until these issues are sorted out?

I had the same issue, and after extensive searching and troubleshooting, I pretty much figured out the following: iOS4 has a bug for many ipod touch 2g's and iphone 3g that it simply will not restore from a pre-iOS4 backup. I had to do a new ipod install, lost all app settings, and then it worked fine. I have since tried installing the old backup, no dice, but the new post iOS4 backup I made for test purposes works. Until Apple releases a patch, it seems as if old backups will just cause one error or another.
