IPod Touch not displaying album art in "now playing" view

I recently migrated my iTunes library from my iMac to my MacBook. I did not experience any problems with the migration, and did it over my wireless home network.
Since then, some of my album artwork will not show in the "now playing" view on my iPod touch, but they do show in cover flow and in iTunes. I have synced numerous times, but that has not solved my problem.
Help! This is driving me crazy!

I called Apple and was told that I needed to restore the iPod. The problem is that I had purchased and installed the January upgrade on my iMac and not my MacBook.
I restored the iPod on the iMac and then synced to the MacBook.
Problem solved!

Why don't you, instead of taking time to do that, just backup, and then restore your iPod?
    Just a suggestion..

  • ITunes 10 does not add album art to 'Now playing' song

If an artwork is added to a song being played, via drag&drop into the artwork box or copy-paste or via the 'Get Info' window, it is not displayed in the artwork box; it is, however, visible in the Artwork section of the 'Get Info' window.
The cover art is displayed only after another song is played or iTunes is re-launched.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • IPod does not display album cover art

I recently updated to iTunes 9 and also bought a new MacBook Pro. Then I synced my old iPod color with my new Mac. Since then my iPod does not display the album art work anymore. I was looking through iTunes 9 for the option to display the artwork on the iPod because I remembered that setting from older versions but could not find it. Does iTunes 9 just asume my iPod can't display covers because it is a 4th gen even though it is the color version?

hi mduran, no i could not find any solution. My iPod (60gb, probably the same as yours) is filled to the top and has been before the iTunes update and then it worked fine. I think this is a bug in iTunes. It's interesting to see that this happens in the Mac and Windows version of iTunes. Is there any way of telling Apple about that so it will be in the next update?

  • 2G Ipod Touch picture and album art issues

I have a 2nd Generation 8GB Touch with 4.0.2 installed. Just recently I've noticed a couple of issues with it.
When I look at the photos stored, in the thumbnail view some of the photos are just a black box, but when I view the pics, they show normally.
When I am looking at the album art, a couple of the albums have wrong artwork showing, even though in iTunes it has the correct artwork showing there. For example one album has the artwork for a podcast that I no longer have synced to the iPod. If I browse to right to look at the next album, in the background where you see the album covers of the other albums, it shows the right artwork. Another album just has artwork for another podcast, but when I see it behind another album, it is showing the artwork for the podcast that I first mentioned earlier.
Has anybody else seen this or something like it and know how to resolve it?

  • IPod Photo not displaying album artwork

My iPod Photo was displaying all of the album artwork until I created playlists. I created 6 playlists and then all of my artwork disappeared, including artwork from songs not in playlists. It still shows the artwork when the iPod is connected to my computer. Does anyone know what the deal is with this?

I think Apple is having a problem at the moment, my Ipod touch was always fine syncing until the new update! (Even on older itunes version, I could'nt sync since new update came out) It just isnt recognizing the device...
Ive done all that Apple says to do, none of which helps at all, I reckon its thier own side of the problem they need to fix...

  • 5530 Not displaying album art?

Don't know what is going on, It shows art work in OVI suite and Music player but on the phone itself shows nothing at all.
Only time it shows artwork is of I download from music store.
    Anyone any ideas?

I have been trying to find a solution to this problem for a while and now I have at last.
    Do the following and all your media art problems will be sorted out;
Connect your Nokia device to your PC using the USB cable provied and select PC Suite Mode. WMP will recognise your device.
In WMP, go to library and Select the music file you wany to synch to you nokia phone.
Rght click the song under the Title column.
    Select Advanced Tag Editor
In the advanced Tag Editor menu, select Pictures.
Click the Picture Type drop tab and select User defined
Click Apply and OK to exit
In the WMP library Drag to song to the synch pane to your right.
Click Synch buttom at the right bottom
Disconnect device and check the song in the device playlist "Recently Added"
You will be able see the album art right in your device library and during playback.

  • While playing, Front Row does not display album art but a white image only

When I go through my music library via Front Row, the album art is still visible, however, as soon as I play a track, the cover disappears and there's a white square instead that, as usual, changes its position from the left to the right side. Could that be due to size limitations? My album art is 2400 x 2400, approximately 4 MB each. Thanks.

Same for me on my Mac Mini: I can see the shared pictures but can't see the ones in the local library. Funny thing is that I can see that library from my other Mac.
Also I noticed that one picture appeared in the middle of the (empty) slideshow, only 1 of 67. In the list view, those pictures appear normally, as you can see in this screenshot http://d.pr/eiXB
    I'm a first-time iLife user, so I don't know if the issue is '11-specific.

  • Ipod won't display song info under "Now Playing"

I searched for this, but couldn't find an answer. My 60GB IPOD works fine, plays fine and displays info (and movies, photos, etc.) correctly in all areas except the "Now Playing" screen, at which point it won't display any info (song title, artist, album art, etc.)
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • My ipod is showing the album art but doesnt play music or plays other music?

yea i just noticed today, my music was working completely fine before, and the only problem with music is one album. Its survival Story by Flobots. When i play the songs either one, they go to other songs on the playlist than the album and keep the art work, or if its just the album then it does nothing. Plz someone, help!

wait... i just had to redownload the music from  the itunes store -_-

  • Where is the 'display album art on my iPod' option?

I only use my iPod in the car, so I don't exactly need album artwork on it. iTunes used to have an option to display (or not display) album art on the iPod. What happened to that option? My iPod is a classic, so it has a hard drive, and I'm getting tired of the constant disk access whenever it wants to display album artwork. I would prefer to get rid of it altogether.
I don't want to delete the artwork itself, because I also listen to music with my AppleTV at home. I just don't need the artwork *on my iPod*. How can I rig it so the iPod won't display the artwork anymore?

never mind, I found out that the option no longer exists:

  • 2nd gen iPod touch only displays start-up apple icon, and is not recognized by iTunes - what to do?

2nd gen iPod touch only displays start-up apple icon, and is not recognized by iTunes - what to do?

Thanks, but I've checked those articles out already. I drained the battery and finally got the needs charge (battery w/red line + arrow pointing to a charging bolt), I plugged the USB into the laptop and held down the start key +home key until I saw the apple logo. However, it still was not recognized by itunes. It's been plugged in for over an hour now and the screen is cycling apple logo/low battery (battery w/red line)/and black screen.
