  • 3rd gen ipod touch not recognized by the iMac and iTunes?

I tried to connect my 3rd generation iPod touch to my iMac so I can sync all my iTunes to mine? However, my iMac and my iTunes won't recognize mine. So, I'm just wondering why not?

this has got to be the worst and most annoying problem of ipods. you can connect it up and wait awhile, you can then unlock it and play around with whatever you've got on your ipod untill it picks it up (because sometimes the computer is slow at recgonising the ipod) you can un-plug and re-plug your ipod. Hope this helps.

  • IPod Touch not recognized by my Laptop

Hello, this is my first time posing on these Forums. I've been searching the internet for the past 2 days now looking for a solution to my problem.
I just bought my iPod Touch on Friday 24th April. I got home and set the iPod up. I previously owned a video 30GB iPod so I did not need to install iTunes. Everything was fine, I synced my music, videos and pictures and I fully charged the iPod. On Saturday when I was going to re-charge the battery, my computer did not recognise the iPod. ITunes didn't load up, and its not appearing in "My Computer". I tried every single USB drive available on my laptop, including using my brother's laptop, my work computer and my Dad's computer, with no results. It doesn't charge, therefore I can't restore it. I've not had this problem with my old iPod and I used to sync it with my laptop almost everyday.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a sloution to it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you reset your ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up?
Does your ipod charge if you use the adapter? If yes, try to connect it to your pc in recovery mode.
    Here's how. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If you can't reset and the adapter won't charge your device it's time to call Apple or see an Apple store

  • Brand new iPod Touch - not recognized by my computer or iTunes

I just purchased an iPod Touch today and it isn't showing up in My Computer or iTunes. My USB port is working because it recognizes other devises. I checked my USB port in Device Manager and it says Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller. I even uninstalled iTunes and installed it again. I'm just sick ... I have read everything I can find that might work, but nothing does.
If anyone has a suggestion for me, I would really appreciate it.
    Martha

Thanks, Alex. The link you gave me says that there should be a Apple device listed with my USB's and it is not. I did find the driver USBAAPL.SYS in the Windows\System32 folder\drivers. Should it be somewhere else to work??? The Mobile Device Service is there and is started. I am completely iPod ignorant, but I did have a shuffle sometime back that worked just fine.
I appreciate your help. If you have any other advice, I would appreciate it.

I had no problems when i synced my ipod before, but sudenly stoped working! Nothing changed in my computer...
Everytime I conect my ipod to my computer, the orange light starts blinking and windows doesnt recognize it. I ve tried diferent ports and no luck...
Please help me, couln´t find help on your web site yet.
    Tx.

Hi all, seems to be a lot of issues with this little device. All it has to do is play music like any other mp3 player. Unfortunately, it can't even do this. The two other mp3 players I have work without fault, don't require a 35 meg program download to work, don't need to be connected to a computer to recharge the battery and I have never needed to "Do the 5 R's" to try and fix problems. I have never needed to unplug printers to get my computer to recognise the other players or had to decypher "blinking light codes" to understand what the device is doing. Still there are die-hard Apple fans who will say there must be something wrong with your computer. I had believed that Apple were superior in a range of ways yet with my first (and last) foray into the world of Apple products, I find this to be untrue. I don't want or need the frustration that I have experienced with this device and from the number of people on this forum, I would say that I am not alone.

  • My iPod does not turn on and it is not recognized by my laptop in iTunes... What can I do?

My iPod does not turn on and it is not recognized by my laptop in iTunes... What can I do?
Model iPod 2 Touch, 8G, It stoped working less than a month after it was purchased but I never sent it back for repairs or warranty to Apple.. Is there still a way to repair it on my own. It just simply does not turn on or charge and it is not recognized by iTunes when I plug it in to my MacBook Pro.
    Please advise...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment is free.

  • IPod Touch not recognised on Windows 8 and will not appear as connected in iTunes.

Usually when I plug my iPod Touch (4th Gen) into my laptop (Windows 8) it appears automatically on iTunes for me to sync. However, when I tried to do this today, iTunes did not recognise that a device was connected and this was confirmed after I did a diagnostic test. Windows recognises that an iPod has been plugged in, however where it usually says "Alicia's iPod Touch", it just appears as "Apple iPod" and when I click on it, I cannot access any photos/videos that I have on my iPod. Any help would be very much appreciated if anybody know how I can fix this. Thank you.

Check out the article below for troubleshooting issues with your iPod touch not showing up in iTunes. It may be an issue with security software or the Apple Mobile Device driver.

  • TS1369 ipod touch not recognized by computer or itunes

My iPod Touch is not recognized by my computer or itunes. I believe this happened after the recent upgrade for latest fixes.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Also, if you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
