IPod touch not responding to input

Hi
i have a 16gb ipod touch that was purched in late november all of a sudden it has a hard time responging to any input.
it seams more like a software problem because the problem seams intermintent as if the cpu is busy or something. "slide to unlock" always seams to work but not much else. and somtimes it will be fine and others not. i have tryed restoring it 3 times now with no effect. i have cleaned the screen and do not have any protection film on it..
any help???

Thanks for the tip but i have tryed that with no effect i have looked online and seams im not the only person with this problem.

Try what you have not tried so far. You may have tried all and the Apple store maybe in order.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you restored the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem the you very likely have a hardware problem and an ppointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 2nd gen Ipod Touch not responding

My mother has had this Ipod Touch for several years and it recently stopped working. It has been well taken care of, but it hasn't seen much use for at least a year now. Holding the home button and/or the power button for any length of time does not work at all. Neither does charging it. When I plug it into the computer, a message pops up. "USB Device is not Recognized." I'm wondering if this is just needs to be replaced or if this is something that can be fixed. She's even considering buying a 30 pin usb to see if that'll fix the problem. Any suggestions?

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod

  • IPod Touch not responding after adding videos/photos

Still have a problem with my iPod.... Works OK with music only. But after having sync videos and some photos, everything worked OK for a while... left the iPod off and next morning could not turn it on ... not even with the reset (pushing wake/sleep + menu button simultaneaously).
Second time this has happened in the last few days.... only alternative is to try restore again via iTunes. Anyone else has had a similar problem? Any help/tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hmm interesting. I put mine to sleep. It's been on sleep now for 4 hours with no activity. I just turned it back on, and music playback resunmes where it was. (I have a week 37) I also haven't heard of this specific problem before.
Maybe try taking it to an Apple Store, give the Genious Bar a try, and see what they make of it.
If they can replicate the situation at the store, on your device, they have no reason to not exchange the model for you. Make sure if you do decide to pay Apple a visit, take the box, packaging and receipt with you 'incase' they offer you a refund.

  • I'm trying to get my iPod touch to respond to pc, windows7.  It was disabled after deleating photos.

My iPod Touch was disabled when deleting photos.  I now have windows 7 on my pc and the iPod will not respond when plugged into pc.. I was told to sink the iPod with iTunes but no response.  Any ideas where to start.  I have very little knowledge of the iPod and the pc.  Please give me basics only if you can.  I just installed the latest version of windows 7,  found my user name and updated my iTunes accoun and pluged the iPod in the pc with no results yet.t.  I do not know my way around iTunes as yet.  Any thoughts?
    Lostinspace.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
