IPod Touch not travel friendly - can't connect digital camera to it.
I thought the iPod Touch would be perfect for any trip... Until I went on a trip with it.
Why doesn't Apple design a USB interface for the iPod Touch that plugs into the bottom of the unit, allowing digital cameras to to connect via USB through PTP? Just like if you had connected it to a Mac? Then you could upload pictures and videos to Flickr and Youtube from the iPod Touch while you are traveling! All I want to take with me on my trips is my iPod Touch, and my digital camera.
By the way, many hotels don't offer wifi, only ethernet! How about an ethernet adapter for the iPod Touch???

They did do for some previous iPod models. But maybe it wasn't popular enough to continue development.

What do you mean by distant IP address?
- Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
-power off and then back on yur router
- Reset Network settings: Settings>General>Reset Reset Network Settings

Try Resetting Network Settings on the iPhone, go to Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings.
What type of wireless router are you using? What type of security is being used and how many characters are in the network key?

You should install iTunes.
Go and get it on the Apple website:

If you have WiFi you can download apps directly from the iPod touch - go to the App Store application. -

with damage that bad, you have probly damaged the antenna on the ipod.

I just installed windows 7 because my computer was infected by a virus. Before i had windows vista. Now when i try to connect my ipod with the latest version of itunes, itunes doesn't recognise it anymore.

I am posting this to try to help others who have N ipod touch and windows is showing as a digital camera and itunes does not recognize after updating to 8.2.1. I tried EVERYTHING (uninstalling itunes, reinstalling, downgrading itunes, removing pics out of storage folder,restoring ipod, searching google for drivers for ipod, trying to find the right driver using device manager, made sure apple mobile was on and working, checked device manager under universal serial bus controls and apple mobile device was not listed, tried plugging in nano n itunes recognized it immediately... I found that alot of ipod touch owners had the exact same problem when upgrading itunes, but could not find a solution that worked..after about a week of trying fixed the problem..
Download the newest version of itunes, dont install just download the itunessetup file, then go to google and search for and download 7-zip and after installing 7-zip right click on itunes setup file and click 7-zip extract, go to the extracted folder and double click on apple mobile device then repair it, restart comp (mine still wasnt working so i tried one more time) went back to extract folder and double clicked on apple mobile device and uninstalled and then reinstalled then went to device manager and looked under universal serials bus controls and to my suprise apple mobile device WAS FINALLY listed, plugged in ipod and opened itunes and there it was, my ipodI tried what you said to do and it didn't work.

The BT profiles on the iPod do not support direct iPod-to-iPod use. There are apps that support peer-to-peer gaming between iPods and maybe transfer like for photos. Also see:

I plan to loan my iPod Touch to a friend here in the USA for one month to use on his trip to Europe. How can I keep my iTunes content and my account private, but enable him to create his own iTunes account to use on my iPod Touch? Also, do I need to de-register my iPod Touch for all of this to happen--and have him register my iPod Touch in his name for that month he is using it in Europe?

No mention of the Touch, it works differently from other iPods and has no "disk mode" as such.
I think it can be used as a storage device by using a 3rd party App, search the the App Store for such items.
Photos transferred to your Touch via iTunes will be of severely compromised quality i.e 640x480 pixel resolution and file size around 600-700 kb. These can be retrieved, again using a 3rd party application on your computer, such as [Touch Copy|http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy> but you will not get back original quality images.
