IPod Touch Not Working After Upgrade

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4G from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5.0.  After the upgrade, the iPod Touch is stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen, and is not seen by iTunes.  Does anyone know why this happened, and more importantly how I can reload iOS 4.3.5?  Thanks for any information you can provide.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Try resetting your iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Ipod touch not working after upgrades.....

So I went ahead and upgraded my itunes to 10.5, and got the newest download for my touch (can't remember what number it is).  Now when I went to sync my ipod itunes didn't recognize my ipod, and when I went through and did everything the tech manual said with the whole msconfig stuff, it worked for a little while.  Went ahead and synced my ipod and none of my music showed up as being in the ipod, but on teh ipod usage it showed them all as being there.  So I restarted my computer and turned off my ipod thinking that will work.  Logged on my computer about 30 minutes later and now my ipod isn't being recognized by my computer again.  Please help.

And now my other 2 ipod touches are not showing up on itunes as being recognized.  Someone please help.

  • IPod touch not working after 5.0.1iOS update

It seems like a lot of people are having issues after the new 5.0.1iOS update. I want to share my frustration and what problems I'm facing. After the update my ipod won't sync properly. It freezes my computer and then my computer shuts down everytime I have my ipod connected to my computer. My music and apps on my iPod are like ghosts they are visible but do NOT work after being pressed. I tried resetting the ipod, same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, same problem. There is only problems with my computer when the iPod is plugged into the computer and trying to update. I am so ANGRY because I love my iPod and I can't use it to listen to music or communicate with my family and friends. I hope Apple will help all of us soon and fix these HUGE bugs, and FAST.

Have you tried the sandard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Retore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • IPod touch not working after data erase

I have an iPod Touch 1st generation. Although it is old it always worked perfectly. It was until I put "erase all data" in the iPod settings when it stopped working. I'm not sure of what I did. I was expecting to erase only songs, apps, videos, photos, etc... but now I don't know if I erased some important software that makes the iPod work. The ipod always turn on when I charge it, but I only see the white apple and the sign that is loading. I'll be glad if you help me on this!

Sadly, I too am having problems here...I recieved apple error 2330 sometime after the Fall...I have been trying to sleuth and work my way around all this mumbo jumbo for months!
    1) I cannot properly use iTunes for some reason
    2) I erased the data in my ipod Touch (1st generation) manually via the iPod Touch, and right after I did this, it gave me the Apple logo with the slash and the spinning progress wheel that users above mentioned...
    Please help us!

  • IPod touch not recognized after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.2

    Hi,
I've an iPod touch 16GB firmware version 3.1.2. I let it sync with my iMac (2006 white plastic) running Mac OS X 10.4.11. I've just upgraded my iTunes form 9.01 to 9.02, and my iMac does not recognize iPod touch when I plug-in the USB connector. I can't see iPod touch in the iTunes, and the iPod touch does not even show the charging screen.
Then I tried to connect iPod touch to my MacBookPro 13" 2009 running Mac OS X 10.6.2 and iTunes 9.0.2, and it works just what it should be.
Does iTunes 9.0.2 incompatible with Mac OS X 10.4.11 ?
I'll try to do some self-cleaning tasks and try it again.

    Ok, my bad.
After repairing permission and clearing cache, now it worked.

  • Mail on iPod Touch not working after iCloud password change

A few days ago, I was prompted to change the mail password for my iCloud account.  My iPad and MacBook mail were both successfully updated and then accessed.  When I tried my iPod, it said the password was incorrect.  I delted the account and added it again, but the account is still not accessble.
After some research, I think my iPod is a second-generation model.  It was purchased two years ago this month, so I was disappointed to see that it cannot be updated to iSO 5.  Because I cannot have this upgrade, I cannot get the iCloud option in Settings which would help me out. I suspect this is the root of my mail problem.
Is there any way to get my mail to work?

Update:  I just spent some time with an on-line chat.  Turns out that when I switched to iCloud a few months ago, I missed an opportunity that started on May 1, 2012.
For those of you who have not yet made the switch to iCloud, the paragraph below might help.  Please note that the Apple help said that I should use Firefox rather than Safari to access the site.  Crazy!  Why would an Apple Application not work.
What if I just want to keep using my email on all my devices?
As of May 1, you can choose to keep using your mail after MobileMe ends, even on devices that don’t meet the iCloud system requirements. Just go to me.com/move and select the option to keep using your email after MobileMe ends. Once you have completed this short process, your mail will continue to work on devices that don’t meet the iCloud requirements after MobileMe ends on June 30, 2012.

  • Ipod touch not working after update

I just attempted to install the latest iPod touch software update via itunes. It downloaded and started installing and everything seemed normal. Then I got a weird error that said something along the lines of "Could not update ipod. Error 9" Now the ipod won't turn on at all, won't reset, and itunes doesn't recognize it. When I plug it into my pc (where it is synced), I get a windows bubble that pops up saying the device isn't recognized. When I plug it into my mac, nothing happens at all.
    Any suggestions?

Hey everyone. I had this same issue (1st Gen iTouch crashed in the middle of the update with an error, then perpetually showed the USB cable picture and wasn't recognized by my PC).
I was flying West for Thanksgiving, and the prospect of not having my music was so terrifying that out of complete desperation, I borrowed my roommate's Mac to see if I could somehow magically finish the update there. For whatever reason, it worked!
I don't know if it was the fact that it was a Mac, an older version of iTunes, or what, but I was able to do a restore after downloading the new firmware on his computer (I think it was an old Powerbook G4), though I lost all my data. Still, it works now, and I was (thank God) able to listen to it on the plane trip after re-adding my music.
So I wish I could give more details, but at the very least, THERE IS HOPE! Maybe someone more daring and less busy than I can narrow down the variables, otherwise I'll see if I can figure more out when I get back home this weekend. However, I sincerely hope Apple takes responsibility and figures it out themselves before then. Given how serious losing your ability to listen to portable music is for most of us, I really can't believe that they haven't even deigned to address this issue on their own boards.
Anyway, happy Thanksgiving everyone, and hang in there.

  • Ipod touch not working after being attached to new charger

I have a 3G ipod touch, and recently bought a mains charger. Although the charger isn't an Apple, it is compatible with the itouch (i checked with around 4 different retailers). As soon as I plugged it in, the touch heated up incredibly, so I unplugged it straight away, and now the touch won't work at all - doesn't reboot, isn't recognised on the PC, won't charge via the computer etc. The retailer admits that the charger is faulty - they've tried in on another ipod and nothing happened at all - but I'm not sure if they will accept liability for my ipod. They are saying I should contact Apple.

  • Ipod Touch Not working after dropping

I dropped my Ipod Touch and not able not turn it on after that. The screen shows frozen state (time of the dropping) with no brightness. Any input on this appreicated. Thx

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I'm sorry to hear of your woes... Have you tried the standard troubleshooting techniques?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306418
If the screen is still showing a display and is intact then you may be in luck.
Otherwise you're probably looking at a household insurance claim (if covered).
If you do get lucky this time go and get yourself at case too.
Let us know how you get on.

  • Ipod Shuffle not working after upgrade to iTunes 7.02

I upgrade to iTunes 7.02 after it prompted me so many times. My Ipod shuffle has 512MB, somehow iTunes 7.02 format it as 34GB, yes, 34GB!! I wouldn't mind it so much if it still works, but it doesn't.
What I have tried so far, I uninstall 7.02 and put back 6.05, still it shows 34GB. It does recognize the Ipod shuffle and allows me to put songs in it, except they don't play.
I download the Ipod shuffle reset utility, but it doesn't recognize the IPod. I am really bumped on this one, nothing to listen to on my long commute.

Hey man... I know what, you were right! I did some more research and ended up looking for any answaers on the Digidesign site. I downloaded the latest version of CoreAudio for my plataform (ProTools TDM Mix Plus with OS X 10.3.9) which is CoreAudio 6.9 and it seems to have solved all of my problems! At least iTunes and QT are opening again and seem to be working good so far. PT also seems to be runing with no problems!! Thanks again for the hint!

  • Ipod touch home button not working after upgrade

    Hi,
The home button on my 1st generation ipod touch stopped working after upgrading the software a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is it possible to downgrade the software? I have tried restoring the ipod with no luck.
    Thanks

    HI there,
thanks for the reply. Tried both of what you suggested, also tried the home button thing only working while plugged in with two computers and two different leads which is why I suspect is an operating system thing.
I may try downgrading the operating system next, just have to find a copy of an old one somewhere.
    Cheers,
    Martin

  • Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS5 to iOS6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

I attempted to ask this question, yesterday. However, I am not used to typing with my thumbs, yet, and messed it up some. So, I will give this another try. Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?
iOS 6 changed how that feature works.

My app store, Apple ID, safari, and most other apps do not work after upgrading to iSO 6, How do i solve this problem? Can somebody help me please?

The App store is a problem for many and I have not seen a solution.
What is "wrong" with your Apple ID?
    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

How do i get my ipod touch to work after i downloaded itunes and plugged it in?

    This sounds like your problem:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.
