Ipod touch not working properly. need help on wether or not to replace battery or something else.

My iPod touch 4th generation 8g is acting up. when i touch an app, it loads like normal but then goes black for about 2 seconds then returns to the normal screen where all the apps are. my music won't play for a long amont of time either (for example about 5 to 10 min.) without going black and freezing for about 2 seconds and returning to the regular scree. my 90 day warrenty has been up for a while and i was wondering if it could possibly be the battery and maybe i should just get the battery replaced, or if any of you have suggestions, i am all ears! Help! and the Apple service company was no help and said i had to buy a package plan in order to get phone service!

The warranty is for one year unless you purchased AppleCare which extends it for a total of two years.  The 90 days is for free phone support.
Try in order:
- Reset the iPod,  Nothing will be lost,
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes onthe computer
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod, also via iTunes
If you still have a problem then you likely  have a hardware problem and make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If defective, you should walk out with a refurbished iPod.

    it seems like apple's activation servers have gone down under the weight of the overwhelming amount of activation requests. you will be able to activate your phone once the servers are able to catch up with the activation requests.

    The iPhone 5 is less than a year old, so all of them should still be in warranty unless they have been jailbroken or physically damaged. If you have a hardware problem as you describe the only option is to get the phone replaced by Apple or repaired by a non-authorized shop. The Apple replacement will be free at any Apple store in the country where the phone was purchased. If Apple determines that the phone was physically damaged or jailbroken it will cost $229.

    You need to restore the iPod via iTunes. Try the following to get iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod

    Try:                                               
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on           
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable       
    - Try on another computer                                                       
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Application Toolbar Not Working Properly. Help!

    I'm having an issue with my Mac. The toolbars and other areas of each window in each program are not working properly. There is a bunch of random apples in place of certain buttons. Its hard to explain exactly what is going on so I've attached a couple screen shots of what I'm talking about. Does anyone know whats going on or how to go back to the default settings?     Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

    I downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 to work on my new platform Windows 7. It does not work properly. Specifically my problem is that I can only load one picture at a time onto the work area even if I have chosen two separate pictures. In other words I can not cut and paste not can I join pictures together.
    If I load the program on my older computer with WindowsXP it works fine.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    You have probably forgotten. In recent versions of PSE you must go to the edit>preferences>general and turn on Allow Floating Documents.

    If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

    Another think is the card is there and recognized but the led light is not on so the card is not actually turning on and that can be an issue so can not scan for networks or even bring wlan0 up as I get this error.

    Your help would be greatly appreciated as though I have used Ubuntu and Fedora for years everything worked out of the box so this is new to me. He he breakage I love Arch , learning so much.

    Umm k looking into this and fixing this now. Went by the wiki page for the dell xps 1530 and it stated I needed the 65 driver, just figured out I have the 45 card so need the 45 driver. Will update later when I get it fixed.
    K changed the driver and now can get wlan0 up ,, have to check out if everthing works now.

    What do you mean by not working? Can you see the networks? Getting error messages when trying to join?
