IPod touch on 2.0.1 Stuck at Apple Logo
I am on firmware 2.0.1 and am having some problems with it. I have had to restore numerous times because it gets stuck on the Apple Logo, on bootup. For some reason this always happens. No matter what I do.
Please help
Force restore your iPod by holding down the Power and Home buttons together, wait until screen turns completely black and then let go of the power button, then wait until Apple logo pops up.
Open up iTunes.
Find your device.
Shift click restore.

After using itunes to restore it i turned my ipod touch on and it stayed on the apple logo for a few minutes then it would change to a spinning wheel on a black screen then the screen would turn white and the process will repeat. I can still put it in dfu mode and recovery mode but they don't help. So hopefully someone in this community can help me. And this all started when i updated it to ios 6.1.3 from 6.1.2. and also my computer and itunes dont recognize it

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPod touch got restarted and frozen on the apple logo screen after I erased all content and settings. And it got restarted and frozen again every 5-10 mins until low battery. It also doesn't recognize by iTunes. Did any one has the same problem? And how did you solve it? Thank you.

Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.

Ipod touch 1st gen wont turn on passed apple logo
Ok so i have an ipod touch 1st generation that wont turn on passed the apple logo screen. Like a week ago it shut down cuz it ran outta battery cuz i didnt notice my charger wasnt plugged into the wall properly. So i plugged it in and had to spend like 10 minutes readjusting the extension cord its plugged into. Since then it charges just fine, but wont turn on passed the apple screen. Ive tried letting it charge till its full but it just stays on the apple screen till it dies again. Ive tried leaving it completely off for a few days but that did nothing. I keep seeing that people recommend i plug it into the computer and reset it, but that risks loosing all my data on it. I have over 5000 pictures (It has 16GB) on this thing that i use for references to almost all my work i do, All my notes and backup contact info and certain apps that track important things i never write down. I just cant risk loosing this data. This ipod has never been successful in making a backup in passed attempts. So im not sure what to do. So i guess my question is, Is there anything else i can do or anything im missing that would fix this?
PS, buying a new one or taking it in is not an option, i got this one as a birthday gift like 5 years ago, i could never actually afford to buy a new one. Also i have no idea what iOS its using, as far as i can remember i haven't updated or changed it since i got it, i know its before iOS 3. cuz i cant download any apps passed that.Try the following. However, it is likely the iPod will be erased:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Really Need Help!!
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
IPod touch is frozen at black screen with apple logo after updating to OS 6
I was updating to new software, it told me to plug into itunes. clicked restore ipod and then the problems started. my computer doesnt even recognize it now. I've tried restarting with no luck. Done many steps recommended by Apple and still cant get it to work.

The above may be repetitive but you did not say what you tried. -
The title already says it.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
