IPod Touch or iPod Nano

Hi,
I'm from India(chennai). Planning to buy iPod but i'm little bit confused to choose the best one among ipod nano and ipod touch.
Guys can you please help me to find out best one that has interesting stuffs.
my choice between and ipod nano and ipod touch depends on your suggestion and reviews.
Thank You.

it really depends on what you want. (i hope you have posted this question in the nano forum as well there will be people here who haven't had a nano so won't directly be able to compare.
check out the features pages:
http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/features.html
http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/features/
i had an older generation nano, and at a basic level, it played music, podcasts, audiobooks etc. and had a color screen. (might be wrong but i think the newer ones play videos too - though i wouldnt want that on such a small screen and on something i tended to keep in my pocket)
the ipod touch isn't JUST about the media it plays, though it will play music, podcasts, audiobooks, with the addition of video and movies. it opens up a much larger world, with wifi internet access (if you dont have access to a wifi network, either at home or public ones out and about then this pretty much nullifies this feature and would probably mean you are better off gettting a nano - though there are more and more public networks, google wifi hotspots for local ones).
with the addition of the app store, there are more and more possibilities opening up for the ipod touch - but if you're just wanting a basic music player, again, may be better to stick with the nano.
along with many people on here though, i believe the ipod touch to be a fantastic piece of technology, and use it on a daily basis. and the functionality just keeps getting better and better! well worth all those pennies

  • 1 iPod Touch, 1 iPod Nano (Brand New) & 2 iPod Classics Not Reconized

    Hi,
I have 1 iPod Touch, 2 iPod Classic & 1 iPod Nano (brand new one)
Since the iTunes V9 update none of them will show up in Windows or iTunes.
I have tryed the 5 R's, wiping everything off the computer and reinstalling it, reinstalling iTunes and more!
    Still nothing
Have any of you had the same problem and managed to solve it ??
    Thanks in advance

Sorry, I followed both guides and uninstalled everything - rebooted, reinstalled iTunes like your second link instructions said.
PC sees all devices fine in Windows Explorer (and makes the pling sound when I connect them, they just do not show up in iTunes.
(ipod nano, ipod touch 32GB, iphone 1st gen, ipad 1st gen)
Manually starting or restarting all itunes/ipod related services doesn't do a thing either, nothing will sync.
    I'm at a loss.

  • TS4062 I can't sync music on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. Suggestions?

I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device.  I've already spent way too much time trying to figure this out and it's driving me crazy!  Thanks for any help you can offer.

This is correct.  It will not show in finder.  It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases

  • I have a brand new ipod touch 32gb ipod touch. Upgraded to ios 7. open music app but there is no radio tab to select!!! All online help just says, "just select it". Can you help?

I have a brand new ipod touch 32gb ipod touch. Upgraded to ios 7. open music app but there is no radio tab to select!!! All online help just says, "just select it".
I have looked at the "More" part but again radio is not an option.
    Can you help?

Just wait a bit.  Turn it off, then back on.
I don't know why, but after the update it doesn't show up right away.
When it finally does, you will find a red icon on the bottom of the screen, on the left side.

My iPod touch Nike ipod sensor is not working. Please help. I even walked around when it asked me to. Also I have latest version of iOS. PLease help

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem!  I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes.  I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option.  The songs are syncing!  And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now!  Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem.  There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Is there any way to get an ipod  running/ ipod  nike to work with a first generation ipod touch or ipod classic?

Is there any way to get an ipod  running/ ipod  nike to work with a first generation ipod touch or ipod classic?

We are talking about that Nike device.  We have a iPod Classic (software version 2.0.1) and an iPod touch (iOS 4.2.1, an earlier model....maybe 3 years ago).  When we plug in into the classic it says "the accessory is not supported) and when we plug it into the touch it says "no receiver required," but neither will load the nike+ running app.  I believe it said that our iPod was incompatible with this app.  Is there something we need to do to make it compatible?  Get an updated operating system or a different app? That has also happened with a few other apps. Thanks!

  • I have purchased a Bose portable speaker for my ipod touch, the ipod finds the speaker and the music begins to play but as soon as start to walk away from the speaker the music stops, as I walk back next to speaker it starts again, i dont know why

I have purchased a Bose portable speaker to connect to my ipod touch, the ipod finds the speaker ok and the music plays whilst the ipod is next to it but once I start to walk away from the speaker the music stops, if i walk back towards the speaker the music starts again, you are suppoed to be able to walk around with ipod in your hand and play the music, change tracks etc. I bought the Bose speaker as someone I know already has one and showed me theres and how it worked, he can walk away from the speaker with his ipod touch no problem, so I dont know why mine wont, same speaker, same ipod, does anyone know
any bluetooth issues, can bluetooth go wrong, can you get it repaired ????? I'm baffled. Thanks

How far away are you walking? Bluetooth has a range of 10 metres - less if there are walls and other obstacles in the way.

  • Since downloading the latest version of iTunes, now the screen on my pc shows 'synch in progress' nonstop but my iPod Touch and iPod Classic don't reflect the synch.

  • Ipod Touch or iPod Classic Sound quality

    Hi
I am considering geting either an iPod Touch or iPod Classic and was wondering if there is any difference in sound quality between the two?
    Many thanks
    Ken

I looked at the tech spec and could find no differences.  I would not expect there to be much difference since mp3 are not that good anyway and the earphones have a great effect on sound quality.

  • How do i sync one itunes account with two iphones, one ipod touch, and a nano?

I need help in how to sync the one itunes account we use as a family with the two iphones my wife and i have and an ipod touch that my son has and a nano that my daughter has. Please help.

That article applies, as far as I can tell, to all things called iPod X where X can be nano, touch, classic etc.
We don't have two iPhones in the family as yet but as I understand it each device can have separate settings for syncing calendars and contacts. For example my iPhone syncs these over the air with the Exchange server at work so if/when my wife gets an iPhone it would be easy to have hers sync to our computer
To make sure your apps don't inadvertently merge turn off Automatically sync new apps from the apps tab when you connect your device.
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways for managing the media content. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iDevices using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their device. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed and need rebuilding. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.
