IPod Touch OS 6.1.3 - Will not play Bruce Springsteen's "Radio Nowhere"!!

NOT JOKING!
The song was already on my iPod from the last 2 years and played fine until as of this posting this afternoon.
I deleted my existing mp3 of Radio Nowhere from the iPod, iTunes, and all existences of it in my PC and portable backup drive.
I purchased it from several locations including Amazon, reloaded into iTunes, and onto the iPod, and the iPod just skips to the next song.  It will however play in iTunes, Windows Media Player, Real Player, Quicktime, or whereever, just not on the iPod.
WHAT is the problem with this song??  Did Springsteens' management drop a super-megaton DRM bomb on this song or what?!

If you right click on the song in iTunes and select Get Info>Summary what is listed for:
Kind
Size
Bit Rate
Sample rate
Profile
Channels
and anything else unusual.
In the Option pane what is listd for Media kind.
Last would be the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • HT2292 I recently got a new ipod touch and the new one will not connect to itunes.  I've done all the troubleshooting and now I'm just plain frustrated.  With the new update my old ipod froze and best buy gave me a new one. What to do?

My ipod recenly froze with the last update.  bestbuy gave me a replacement.  the new one will not connect to the computer or itunes.  i followed all the instructions and - nothing.  It's frustrating enough as i lost all my notes and work, but now I can't connect to sync with itunes.  i don't get it.  i'm not a supertech so i don't know what to do. help!!!!!!

Thanks, Bob!  You are correct.  And, we learned this as we spoke with APPLE TECH SUPPORT by phone on Christmas day (800-APL-CARE).  One of their reps spent the time to help us troubleshoot this, but the boiled down conclusion is your answer, and to repeat for the benefit of others, here is what worked:
    1. With our Belkin router set to "out-of-the-box" WEP 64 bit security, we could not get wireless access of any kind.  Only with the Security Mode set to DISABLED, could we gain access.
    2. Changing the router's security mode setting to "WPA/WPA-2...." and entering a new min. 8 char passphrase, and then entering that same passphrase into the IPOD Touch, and restarting the router, did the trick!
Based on this, and some info found in another posting, I can only conclude that the IPODs and IPHONES do not support WEP security mode in many generic routers used by thousands of consumers.  Hopefully, those same consumers can figure out how to change their wireless router setttings to WPA/WPA-2 security mode and ALSO get all their other wireless devices (PCs, laptops, WII boxes, ROKU boxes) all reconfigured to WPA mode, too.
I THINK THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT APPLE NEEDS TO ADDRESS WITH WEP COMPATIBILITY and it may also be the case that MOST CONSUMERS ARE USING WEP 64 BIT security on their home wireless routers?
In any case, it's working now, so anyone who is having problems should try changing to WPA mode and post back here if it worked for them!

  • IPod Touch 3rd Generation 32 GB will not charge, sync to iTunes, or turn on

I've had this iPod since about January/February 2010. I've had this issue ever since May 20th, 2012 .When I plug it into an adapter, it shows the very low battery red sign, and when it is plugged in, it shows that it is charging. However, when it reaches the silver apple logo when an iPod turns on, it is stuck on the logo, so it does not turn on. When I plug it into my MacBook Pro, it does not show up under the devices column. Therefore, I am not able to backup or update my data, which is my first priority. I really want to be able to backup my data. I've gone to numerous Apple Support Communites pages and numerous apple support pages, and none have helped me. i've tried to reset my iPod, but I do not want to restore it and go into recovery mode because I do not want to lose my data. The two problems I think that I have is either the battery has died and can no longer charge or the charging dock is somehow broken. I've already used different adapters and different computers to charge it from. I really do not want to buy a new iPod, and if so, I would like to backup my data first. Any suggestions?

If the battery died then you will have to replace the battery and then see if you can get the data off the iPod. Otherwise you will have to try restoring the iPod and lose the data.

  • IPod Touch 2 gen (16 GB) will not update

My iPod Touch will not update to version 3. iTunes stops in the middle of the process of downloading the update file, and tells me the network connection has been reset. I have also tried restoring it, but the same thing happened and now the iPod will not start. It gives me the "Connect to iTunes" picture. The model is of an MB model. It originally came with an 2.2.1 version.

  • I have a iPod touch 3rd generation and it will not turn on or charge.

This iPod, when ever I turn it on all I get is the apple logo. Then about five minuts later, it tells me to plug it up, you know, the low battery simbole. But the kicker is that it is always pluged up when it is doing this! Can you tell me how to restor this iPod? I've tried force recovery but I discontinued it from my account. I've heard if you plug up to a computer it will charge better, didn't work. Thanks for helping me. Cameron44
