Ipod touch playing audible books at an accelerated speed

My ipod touch is playing my audible books at an accelerated speed. My music seems to be fine, so just the books

When you are listening to an Audible book, if it shows the progression bar at the top, you will have three buttons under it. On the left is two arrows (repeat). Center is a circled arrow (go back x seconds). On the right is a square with a number in it. (Speed) There are three speeds, 1/2x, x1 & x2. When playing at normal speed, the button will be white, x2 and 1/2x it will be blue. Touch it until it says 1.
If you don't see the progression bar and buttons, touch the screen anywhere and they will come on. Then you will be able to see what I mean.
I hope this helped. I love my Audible Books. So much so, in fact, I have a 64GB Touch with only my Audible books on it.

Here's a couple things to try:
1. Reset the iPod by holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
2. Uninstall and reinstall one of your purchased apps. Sometimes this can rectify the issue.
3. Connect the iPod to iTunes and restore it. New system software usually resolves the issue. Make sure you sync before restoring because a restore removes the data from your iPod.

Can the iPod Touch play radio stations? I have an older iPod and I use the Apple product (below) to listen to radio stations on it. I'm thinking of getting an iPod Touch and was wondering if there's any similar products that I can use for the iPod Touch, or even if there's app that would allow me to play radio stations. as already said, most (if not all) of the radio station apps require wifi access, which is fine if you just want to listen where you have wifi access (i.e. at home) but not so good if you want to listen out and about.

HT201272 audible books wont download to my additional ser 4 but will remain on my ser 1. all other media is on both series ipods. How do I get ny ser 4 ipod to accept audible books

I wish to transfer my 34 audible books to my additional series 4 ipod (recent acquisition) The sync is successful with all music, ibooks, podcasts etc. Audible remains and syncs on my series 1 ipod as does all other media. any suggestions please?

IPod Touch - playing music & games at same time

I just got a new iPod touch, replacing an iPod classic. On my classic I could play music at the same time as playing games. I don't seem to be able to do this on my new iPod touch. Is there a way to play music and games at the same time?

on most of the apps i have, in the options/settings, you can turn off the sounds and music. your own music will stop when you load up the app, but you can start it again by double clicking the home button, it will bring up the 'in play' music feature, then you can hit play and you're off.

How to play Audible books in Nokia 5310 ?

I have downloaded the books from Audible.com, and transferred it to the 5310. Also, an appliaction from Audible.com is also installed in my phone, I think the application is called Audible Air.
However, when I try to run this application, the phone pop up a message:"Certificate not on phone or SIM".
Anyone know how to play the Audible books in the Nokia 5310?
Is it necessary to connecto the phone to the internet?

How to do this when the audible books were bought using the iPad via iTunes.?

It's 03/18/2014 as I write this. Don't buy the Sonos if you're an audio book lover. I couldn't get their system to sync with my Audible account. Another user in our household couldn't get the Sonos app to read audio books she bought from iTunes - all 100% legit, purchased items.

I will wan to buy an iPod Touch for portable music player, & I really want it be able to play the music from airport express to my home music system when I come back home.

IPod Touch Play Count Issue still occuring!!

Guys,
Are there any new updates on a way to fix the play count issue besides 'automatically syncing' the iPod? It's driving me insane. I paid AU$13 for the 3.0 iPod Touch software update and the play counts of my songs are rediculous when I have listened to the song once! ie. 295 play counts for 1 song, when I've listened to it 5 times!!

ok my ipod touch doesnt update play counts. like i play though any song all the way throughand plug it in to the computer and it says is hasnt played at all. but when plugged in to the computer the play count works fine. any suggestions on how to get play count working on ipod too???

Play count is a sort of metadata that doesn't have a direct display implementation on the iPod (well it isn't data that is actually saved to the file, but instead stored as a preference in the library database ). It's there, you just can't see it! The exception is if you use smart playlists (see my comment below), where you can use logic to sort tracks by play count into distinct playlists.
With your iPod connected to your computer, playing in iTunes, you can choose to display play count in your track listing. Select View > View Options…, then check the Play Count checkbox.
You can build smart playlists based upon play count and last played, which is a very powerful and handy feature for those who prefer to manually manage their iPod content, allowing you to create dynamic playlists that propagate based on your listening preferences (such as "play only tracks I haven't heard in a while" or "play only newly added tracks I haven't heard yet"). Create a smart playlist in iTunes by holding down the option key and clicking on the create playlist button. This is the solution for new iPod users who complain that their iPod playing in shuffle mode keeps playing the same tracks.
The main problem is that iPod touch does not always properly keep track of play count, something that iPod classic excels at. It's like using a calculator that has an inconsistent math error -- how can you trust it?

Lets say I'm playing songs on my touch from my playlist and I decide to stop and shut my ipod Touch down. Later I turn it back on and go to play, it starts from the beginning of the playlist again. How can I make it continue where it left off on the playlist?

Well you don't have to shut your iPod completely down after using the iPod. Every time you do that, you won't be able to continue where you stopped.
In this situations, I would recommend you to put your iPod only in sleep mode by pressing the sleep/wake button. I assure that you won't lose battery so quickly. Better, I have the iPod Touch for 3 months and I think I only shut it completely down, maybe one or two times.

Further to a previous question. Have recently purchased an Ipod touch and have been told it can play through an FM frequency on my car radio which does not have an aux jack. Can anyone tell me how to set the Ipod to do this and which FM frequency

Have you reset the car system?
Did it happen after an iOS update?
Do other iOS devices still play?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

How quickly will an iPod Touch play a song?

I play in bands and run our backing tracks off an iPod Classic. I'm getting a bit tired of the Classic taking a couple of seconds to whir into life when I go to play a song...for instance, I will select a song and the Classic will take a second or two to respond before playing.
I'm wondering, does an iPod Touch start playing a song instantly when you select one to play? I have an HTC One phone which responds immediately, you hit the song and bang, it begins playing within a milisecond. If anyone can help with this, thanks alot.

IPod Touch play count WAY too high

My 16GB 2G iPod Touch has a play count which is far too high. It is like 1500 for songs I have added today. Any way to solve this?
I have tried resetting the play counts, skip counts and restoring my iPod. No luck.

I'm having the same issue. I've got an iPod Touch 1G, fully updated. I'm seeing tracks that I've literally not played in weeks maybe even MONTHS come up with hundreds, and songs i've played maybe once or twice come up with thousands. I reset all the play counts to try again but it didn't make a difference, next thing i knew, a whole load of new tracks were up there in the thousands.
It's REALLY annoying, cause I've got a Most Played smart playlist, which doesn't really work in the first place as it doesn't update itself no matter how many times i plug my iPod into the computer, and even if it DID work, it wouldn't be very accurate, and I'd have a load of Janet Jackson interludes clogging up my most played, which gets annoying after a while, no matter how entertaining they are when they're part of the album!
What can we do?!
