Ipod touch playing on car radio

Further to a previous question. Have recently purchased an Ipod touch and have been told it can play through an FM frequency on my car radio which does not have an aux jack. Can anyone tell me how to set the Ipod to do this and which FM frequency

Have you reset the car system?
Did it happen after an iOS update?
Do other iOS devices still play?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Can the iPod Touch play radio stations? I have an older iPod and I use the Apple product (below) to listen to radio stations on it. I'm thinking of getting an iPod Touch and was wondering if there's any similar products that I can use for the iPod Touch, or even if there's app that would allow me to play radio stations. as already said, most (if not all) of the radio station apps require wifi access, which is fine if you just want to listen where you have wifi access (i.e. at home) but not so good if you want to listen out and about.

which is brilliant, but i see you're in america, and i dont think you have DAB (digital) Radio over there. there may well be similar products out there though.

Here's a couple things to try:
1. Reset the iPod by holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
2. Uninstall and reinstall one of your purchased apps. Sometimes this can rectify the issue.
3. Connect the iPod to iTunes and restore it. New system software usually resolves the issue. Make sure you sync before restoring because a restore removes the data from your iPod.

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.
Get one with charger or else you iPod might run out of battery faster.

HT1430 forgot my ipod touch in the car, and now all it does is brink on and off.. lights up, the apple logo come on but nothing else.. what do i do to reset it??

Well, i forgot my ipod touch in the car, and it snowed so bad and the temperature drop below zero. I thought my ipod was just battery dead, but when i charged it, only the Apple logo comes on and then blank screen. How can i reboot, or reset?? is the battery affected even though the phone wasn't wet??

As long as no moisture got in it... 1st thing to try is give it a few hours to warm up and fully charge the battery, then see if all is working by turning it on. Cold can effect the function. If still not working try a soft reset. Press and hold both the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds. Then release both buttons. If that does not work connect to your computer via cable go into iTunes and try Restore from backup. If all else fails, Restore to new. If that doesn't work contact Apple Genius Bar to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck.

The only RF system in the +iPod touch+ is Wifi you'll need a 3rd party adaptor to work witn your FM car radio. Depending on the type the old iTrip may work.

I can not change albums when I plug my Ipod touch into my car.

When i plug my Ipod touch 3rd gen into my 2010 Scion XD the screen goes white with an icon saying that is plugged in as an accessory. The problem with this is that when an album ends there is no way to flip to a new artist/album or anything without unhooking the ipod. So once you plug the ipod into the car it will only play the album that you already were playing with no option to change it. Is there a setting that i can change so the music touch screen will stay active when plugged into my car so i can flip through my library?

This can happen if Restrictions are enabled on your iPod Touch and Installing Apps is turned OFF. You'll also find the App Store icon is missing.
Check Settings > General > Restrictions and either disable restrictions or turn "Installing Apps" ON.

Problem with iPod Touch and Nissan Car Interface

I have an '09 Nissan Murano with the built in iPod interface. Previous to upgrading to the 3.0 update, the iPod touch and car got along great and everything worked well with the car being able to control the ipod and play music with only the dock connection (not needing to use the headphone jack). However, since the 3.0 update, the car will no longer see the iPod. The iPod shows the Connected to Accessory screen (as it did in the past) however every few seconds, the iPod will flash a quick screen of the iPods normal music screen, then go back to the Connected to Accessory screen. The car just says iPod Not Connected.
Like I said, it worked perfect before I upgraded to 3.0, and to further that, my brother has his touch still on 2.0 software, and it works fine, leading me to be sure that its a problem with the 3.0 update and not the car. I've seen posts like this with other vehicles, but no one seems to have an answer. Wondering who else is having problems like this and if there is ANY solution (besides rolling back my software).
The fact that an update disables iPod branded interfaces seems ridiculous to me. Thanks for any help!

I recently purchased an infiniti FX35 with the ipod integration. After visiting the local apple store "Genius Bar" and speaking on the phone with an "apple expert"; neither the genius bar or the apple expert heard of such an integration option in new cars being sold. They wanted more information from me about how it work rather than them assisting me with my problem.
Anyway, after alot of experimenting I got my ipod touch 2G running firmware 3.1 to work somewhat consistently.
Turn off wi-fi on the touch, power off then back on, go the ipod menu and select playlist. Attach the touch to the infiniti supplied cable through the dock connector. Select the ipod option from dash board. Playlist, songs, artists, etc will appear on the dash display and begin playing.

IPod classic connected to car radio

I have a new iPod classic and à brand new Renault Megane. When I connect my iPod to my car radio by using a auxiliary cable, I only get sound out of the left speakers. Does someone know how to solve this problem?

Is the cable plugged into the headphone socket of your iPod?
If it is, and the the sound plays through both left and right when you use headphones, that suggests that there is something wrong with the auxilary cable or where it's plugged into.

I want to play music from my iBook through my car radio. like an FM translator or something.
I know you do this with an iPod, but can I do this with an iBook?

Something like this should work, as should any FM transmitter which will take your iBook's analog audio output. Another option would be to get a wired casette adapter (if your car stereo supports it), but I reckon it'll look a lot messier than the FM transmitter setup.

Ipod touch and GM Factory radio

My ipod touch with version 2.2.1 will not play through the radio only hear it from the internal speakers. Tried an ipod classic and it was fine. I am doing this in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala . Is there a resolution for this issue. Spoke to GM dealer and they say it is an Apple issue. Thanks

Do you have something different than a AUX input port by the radio panel? If it is the Aux cable, this might be as simple as a cable problem or you haven't plugged it all the way into the iPod.
If you are using a Gen2 iPod with a FM transmitter type adapter, the Gen2 does not connect to many of the ones that work with the Classic.

IPod Touch - playing music & games at same time

I just got a new iPod touch, replacing an iPod classic. On my classic I could play music at the same time as playing games. I don't seem to be able to do this on my new iPod touch. Is there a way to play music and games at the same time?

on most of the apps i have, in the options/settings, you can turn off the sounds and music. your own music will stop when you load up the app, but you can start it again by double clicking the home button, it will bring up the 'in play' music feature, then you can hit play and you're off.

Can Ipod Touch play music to Airport express like Airtunes of itune ??

I will wan to buy an iPod Touch for portable music player, & I really want it be able to play the music from airport express to my home music system when I come back home.
