  • IPod touch problem PLEASE HELP NEEDED!

okay so it was my birthday 3 days ago and i got an iPod Touch 32gig 3GS as a gift. i installed some apps n they worked fine. put some music on it. then for some reason i found out tilting doesnt work. later on as i exited a game i wanted to listen to some music, music wouldnt work. so i thought i'd reset it. i went on the ipod touch general thing, went to reset all setting and delete all media. i thought it was frozen as it went to the apple screen with the little circle with lines filling up in the center. i thought it was frozen so i turned it off. now NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, i cant close it, it has to run out of power, when i put it on charge again it turns on and does the same thing, but does nothing, the little circle fills until its full then it blacks out and does the same thing. but NOTHING HAS BEEN HAPPENING. ITS BEEN HOURS! i tried to plug it in to my computer but iTunes wont show it on the source panel so i cant reset it from there, maybe i just cant find it in iTunes? PLEASE HELP! i dont want to have to send it in to apple, but i may have to if this persists!

I can't find the songs I just bought on my iPod touch. Any help you can give me is appreciated.. Thank you

If they've finished downloading then they should be in the iPod's Music app - is that where you've looked for them ? If they don't show in there then have you tried closing the Music app via the iPod's taskbar and/or tried a soft-reset of your iPod to see if they then show up in Music ?

  • Another question on iPod touch email, PLEASE HELP ME!

Alright folks, here is another email question for ya. I have a 16GB iPod touch running 1.1.4 with the Jan. Software Update. I am using the Mail app. with my two Gmail IMAP accounts. About two days after I started using mail, I started to run in to trouble. My problems are with RETAINING mail once it has been received. There are a couple different things that happen: 1st, I go check my email, and I see that I have new mail. I am able to view it perfectly fine the first time I look at it, but the second time, I can still see the message in my inbox, but when I go to read it again, it is blank, with a button on the bottom telling me that the message is not completely downloaded. I hit the button to download the rest of the message, but nothing happens. 2nd, When I open Mail and check my email, I see that I have new emails, but I can't even look at them the first time without having the problem described above. This applies to messages with and without attachments. I am also having a problem with mail recognizing messages as read. When I get an email that works right the first time and I read it, in my inbox it is recognized as read, but there is still the little red indicator on the mail logo on the home screen telling me I have an unread message, and the only way to get it to go away is to restart my touch. I have tried deleting my accounts and reentering them, as well as restoring my iPod (did each of these steps at least twice!) and nothing has helped. PLEASE help me out here as this is a most frustrating problem!

My personal opinion is that the POP protocol is better suited to a device like the Touch where always-on Internet access is not available.

If the battery has run down, you need to leave the iPod connected to power for at least thirty minutes before anything appears to happen. Only then will it show any signs of life and you will need to leave it to charge up before disconnecting it.

  • IPod Mini Problems Please Help

This is my second post of the type... no one replied to that so im hoping someone could help me.
    Problems:
    -Wont Update or Load Songs
-It starts loading, gets to around the 5th song (out of well over 600) and says "Ipod Update Complete, OK To Disconnect" though nothing is on the iPod.
-Occasionally wont restore to factory settings.
Okay, before you suggest the five R's, ill note that ive put several MONTHS into this, and ive tried them well over 20 times in order.
    Things Tried
-5 R's Repeatedly (as noted above)
-updating on a friends computer (several times with no luck, same problems)
    -requested help over the phone
-The number i called was the Apple US Help Line, which the person helped me for about an hour before he said he did not know what was up, and transfered me to the Canadian help line, where they demanded a large sum for help, which i could not pay (under 18).
-When i first noticed the problems, I sent it in (around the end of december)and problems continued upon arrival of the new mini.
I will also note that my sisters iPod Nano works perfectly fine, no problems, as well as my friends iPods adding songs from my computer.
Please please help... im currently resorting to a crappy CD player that skips for my music... and have been... its starting to break me inside.
    Thank you,
    Milan

    Natalie,
If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that “do not disconnect” message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select “eject”. Another way would be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.
For the iPod to automatically open iTunes, you have to have "open iTunes when this iPod is attached" checked.
Go to edit/preferences/iPod to do this.
If you prefer to keep the iPod set to manual transfer, look at this. In fact, the whole tutorial is a must read.

  • Error when syncing Ipod Touch. Please help.

Ive got a problem with my iPod Touch. I was installing applications when it just shutdown. Whenever i turn it on the apple icon comes up as usual but then stays on that icon until the iPod runs out of battery. I plug it in and it charges but as soon as i turn it on it does the same things. What should i do?

Let the charge run down to 10%, then let it charge to 100%; that's to correct your battery percentages. Now, charge fully from an external charger, if you have one. If you only charge through your USB port, don't let the charge go on all night; this actually saps your battery in the long run.
If you still have a problem, reset your Touch.
If you're still having problems, you might want to visit your local Apple Store/Genius Bar and have the techies take a look at your unit.

  • Music files now unreadable on iPod touch. Please help

Hi, I have an iPod touch with a month or two left on the warranty. After 10 months of carefree use, I've got this situation: the iPod says there's no music on it whatsoever.
    * The music still exists on my computer's external drive and is playable via iTunes.
    * The iPod still has photos, contacts, calendar data, everything but music and tv shows intact.
    * When I plug my iPod into the PC's USB slot, it is recognized in iTunes. The same number of gigabytes appears to be filled as yesterday, but now all the former music and video exist as one long orange "Other" section. So it looks like the files are there, but are not recognized.
    * I tried to sync, but iTunes warns me that the iPod is already too full for that (Full of orange "Other" files).
    * I did do one screwy thing recently: After consolidating my library from my computer to my external hard drive, I recently started deleting content from the iTunes folder on my computer. I left songs purchased via iTunes intact on my pc out of paranoia. I only deleted music from ripped CDs that I can easily restore.
    * Perhaps, in the process above, I deleted a file that helps the iPod recognize the music files?
I have no idea what happened. Do you think I should reset everything, destroying my calendar data, etc.? Or should I send the thing back while it's
    still under warranty? Many thanks.

Corrupted, yes. There are different levels of restoration, but I assume
you're talking about the big one, the one that takes it back to its birth
    at the factory?
I definitely want to try that before trying to send the
thing back, but I haven't yet found a way to export my calendar data.
    (I'll copy it by hand).
Thank you for the reply, blackbelt.

  • Ipod connection problem, please help!!

    Hi
The problem is when i plug my ipod nano, into my computer the new hardware sound happens and it shows up in device manager and disk management but doesnt come up in itunes, my computer or ipod updater. I have tried the 5 r's (cant restore because it doesnt show up) and tried changing the drive letter. i have recently upgraded motherboard and it has stopped working since then so i am guessing it is something to do with that. (also it works on other computers)
    Thanks Joss

HotSpot Shield sounds like that may be the issue--especially if your IP address is different.
