Ipod touch rented movies to my TV

I used to watch movies from my 80 GB ipod connected to my TV, before it was stolen on a vacation in Tahiti. When I returned to the states, I thought I would try the NEW iPod touch. But, when I plug the ipod touch into my TV (like I use to do) I only get sound... no picture! Has anyone had the same problem? Or, know of a solution? I prefer to watch my downloaded movies on my TV, and like the mobility of moving them around with my ipod touch.

They have a chip or something in them that enables the video from the Touch, bit of a bummer if you have loads of older accessories

Ipod Touch - Itunes movie issue.

Hey all I am about to throw my ipod touch through the window.
I just received my touch today, and of course started playing right away. I downloaded the new Ironman movie from the istore, and synced the movie to my touch. But when I go to videos to view the movie I get the following *"This movie could not be played."*
What do you got?

I saw that in the user man on-line but for some reason that option is not available for that movie. I worked for a music video I had but for the movie its grayed out.

Problems synching two iPod Touch with movies

I have two iPod Touches, one 16GB 2g and one 32GB 3g. I use the same computer and iTunes with both iPods.
I have imported/converted several movies to the iTunes library using HandBrake, and it works excellent.
The problem is that I'm only able to copy/synch all of the movies to the 3g version, and only two of the movies to the 2g version. I've tried several things, both using iTunes automatisk synch and manually moving/copying the movies to the 2g version. But no matter what I do, only 2 of about 60 short-movies are copied and I don't understand why?!?
Can somebody please help me

If you use the same itunes account then you can transfer itunes purchases:

My ipod touch wont move off the apple!

when i turn on my ipod touch it will not go any further then the power up apple icon and it will stay there till my battery dies how do i fix this?

i found this method after much serching on the net
1.             Connect your device to yourcomputer and open iTunes.
2.             Hold down the “Home”button.
3.             Keeping “home” held in holdthe “sleep/wake” button.
4.             Keep both held in until theapple logo shows
5.             As soon as the apple logoshows release the “sleep/wake” button.
6.             Keep the “Home” button heldin until the iTunes logo and a picture of the USB lead is shown.
7.             Now release the “Homebutton and follow the instructions within iTunes.
also i could not see the ipod on itunes but folowed the instructions and the computer found it

IPod Touch 5Gen movie file extension is MOV.mov - why?

I noticed when I recorded a movie today, the file extension was .MOV.mov . I've never seen this before. I can watch it fine.
When I record using my iPad 2, the movies just have .MOV as the file extension.
Is this a glitch and if so, how to fix it? ( I'm wondering if people who I send the recording to will be able to view it.)

No, I didn't. I sent the movies to my computer via text (imessage).
I just decided to sync/upload them via iPhoto and the file extension is now .MOV
Have you any idea what changes it when it's sent via imessage on device to imessage on computer?

Preparing my own movies for Ipod touch

I have a number of movies which are .mov files how can I prepare them to put on my touch library??

as stated in the ipod touch specifications, the ipod touch supports .mov files, so all you have to to is put them into your itunes library on your computer (file -> add file to library),
then plug in your ipod, go to the movies tab, and ensure that you have it set to sync all (or something like that, i cant remember the exact wording),
then sync your ipod

Why movies are green on ipod touch

After iTunes places a movie onto the 32GB, 4th Generation, iPod Touch, the movie plays in a green color and/or ie pixalated. Anyone know a fix?

iPhoto CAN be installed on an iPod Touch 4G and also an iPad 1, just use the iPhone Configuration Utility download:

Just add the Application (after downloading in iTunes) to the program, connect your iPod/iPad and click "Install".
However: You can't sync apps with iTunes after doing this (it will remove iPhoto)
It will work perfectly on both iPad and iPod Touch

IPod Touch and January Update

can anybody help me here is my issue.
Okay so I bought the January update for my iPod touch when it came out in January and a couple weeks ago I had to reinstall windows on my computer. I then had to restore my iPod Touch cause it went all screwy and now it no longer has the January update on it. I read one of the articles that apple posted but they said that it has to be on the exact user account and computer that you purchased the update from. Considering I reloaded windows, its like I got a new computer and don't have the same user account. Can someone help me get the update back

Yeah, those are the first places I would have looked. The data isn't stored in the iTunes library, so even someone who was conscientious enough to back up their iTunes library before reinstalling the OS or moving to a new computer could likely lose that data. Even though it seems (for now) that Apple is more than willingly reauthorizing the downloads, their long history of "back it up or lose it" regarding iTunes purchases makes me wary of the longevity of this solution when, down the line, folks start getting new computers and many more find their iPods are not updating.
Jason: I would like to offer a suggestion if you check back on this thread. Either that data should be in a more obvious place (I know it's the same place as other iPod updates are stored, but I didn't pay for those!) so a user doesn't delete it or at least better instructions should be released in a more conspicuous place. I tried a search of "iPod Touch update move to new computer" and got zero results. Maybe introduce the location with the next go-round? Maybe an entry in notes or an alarm in calendar? I don't know. It just seems less than efficient to have to go begging for a re-download. Especially from Apple. Not very elegant.

[Music files are still there, and I can play them on my computer directly from the iPod [just one track at a time] but not in the usual way, through headphones.]
On the Summary page of iTunes for the iPod, it shows 50-plus gigabytes of "Other" content and no music, which was not previously the case. I assume this is related to the problem.
I can bring up individual tracks on the iPod and see cover art, but cannot play the music.

I thought that once I started using iCloud, I didn't need to sync with iTunes anymore--guess I was wrong.

Ipod touch home botton stopped working

hey everytime i push and hold the home button on my 2nd gen ipod touch to move the icons, it does not work..i've tried everything. any ideas would be great because i just updated to the iphone software OS system 3.0 and now my home button does not work anymore any ideas would be great... i do not want to reformat it because well i am finally reloading my music on to my ipod..

Touch and hold an icon - any app icon.
