IPod Touch Restored, didn't Sync.
I connected my iPod to my computer after updating iTunes, and it wanted me to update the iPod OS, and in the middle of the process, it came up with a message that said along the lines of "Unable to complete this process," so I unplugged my iPod (after ejecting it on iTunes), and it was still on the update screen.
I plugged it in again, and it said I had to restore it. I did so, and it didn't sync my music or apps. When I go into iTunes or the App Store, it wants me to pay for these things all over again.
I suppose I lost around $80-$100. Is there anything I can do about this?

My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes. it tells me it cannot read the contents of the ipod then it says the ipod software server cannot be contacted. Any suggestions?
Update Server
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. For all other nonpurchased iTunes content such as music, videos, and photos synced to the device, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software available to assist you with this task.

Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier. Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

my ipod touch accidentally disconnected during sync, after that it wont sync at all. although it appears to be syncing on both the computer and ipod, it rushes through "determining which tracks to sync' step and no changes are actually made.i restarted both and reset the ipod. i checked to see that the computer recognizes the ipod (yes) and tried to sync over wifi with the same result...(i am afraid to retore to factory original beacuse the problem is about transferring from th computer itunes to the ipod)
There is no good way for yur problem since iTunes sees the iPOd. Yu can ry removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
However, I suspect a restor, first try from backup, is required. -
IPod Touch 4G Won't Sync Calendars or Calendars
Today, my OCD kicked in and I wanted to get all my content synced between all of my devices. Turns out, my iPod Touch 4G won't sync contacts or calanders with my PowerBook G4. The PowerBook is running Mac OS 10.5.8, iTunes 10, iCal 3.0.8, and Address Book 4.1.2. The iPod is running iOS 6.1.3.
Any suggestions?

DavidYou can only sync contacts, calendars and some other things with the one syncing computer you can have.
You may not be able to make this computer (because it has OSX 10.5.8 which can only go to iTunes 10.6.3)
If the Mac has an Intel processor you can update to at least 10.6.8. The you can do the following to make this your syncing computer

You can try doing what the article says. If it does not allow yo to restore the iPod then you can't -
IPod Touch 4G won't sync at all
My iPod Touch 4G won't sync at all when I plug it into a different computer. It'll warn "erase all content and replace it with this computer's library" or whatever that message is, so I click ok, then it'll say "preparing to sync (step 1 of 3)", then "determining apps to sync (step 2 of 3)", then nothing happens, whatever step 3 of 3 is doesn't even appear. Already authorized this computer, also did a hard reset.
Does anyone know what's happening?
And "restore to factory settings" is the last thing I want to do so no need to answer with that. I doubt it's anything wrong with the iPod anyways as it synced fine the last time I used it, which was back in the iTunes 10.x days.The message means that something happened to your computer files and now the iPod thinks that the iTunes library is a different library. You need to do the following:

If all the synced media is already on the compute all yo have to do is backup the iPod and restore from that backup. -
We have some 3rd generations iPod touches that are note syncing with the computer we have. The original computer that the ipods was synced to is gone. We downloaded the itunes to the new computer and logged on as the same account and it won't sync the applications we have.
An iPod can pn;y sync wiht one iTunes kibrary and the new computer is a new iTunes library:
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party probgram like one of those dicussed here:

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup -
2-3 old ipod touch is no longer syncing to itunes library, which was recently moved to new laptop.
Recently moved my library of music, audiobooks, and podcasts to new laptop with Windows 8, at which time I upgraded my itunes software as well. My 2-3 year old ipod touch is no longer syncing properly. Audiobooks and podcasts are fine (after much effort), but all of two songs out of an extensive music library are the only ones syncing. I see them in my library on the new computer and have managed to sync them to my iphone 5 as well. Ipod touch appears to have ample file storage space left. What gives? Is the i-pod touch already useless with the latest Itunes software? Operator error? Hardware problem? I don't know what to think. Have been using ipods for years without this issue.

i downloaded apps from the itunes store and tried to sync them to my ipod touch but its not syncing.i even restarted my ipod several times but it doesnt seem to work....i tried to delete and re-install the apps but that too doesnt seem to work... and while syncing,the apps are shown in my ipod and after the ipod is synced the apps disappear... dunno wat to do .................please help........
Do you have Restrictions set that prevent adding the apps? (Settings>General>Restrictions).

I have the newest version of the iPad and can not see it under devices in my iTunes account on my PC. I can however see my iPod touch under devices and sync it. How can I get my iPad to show under devices and sync as well? I have also tried may suggestions on the apple support site and none have worked. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have a new Iphone 5, my wife has a 4S and an iPod Touch. When I sync my new 5 to the Mac, it pick up ALL of the stupid game apps that my wife uses on her two devices. How can I keep them separate?
go to itunes preferences, store, uncheck automatic downloads. also when your phone is connected you can click on apps and only check the ones you want on your phone, go down to the bottom right and click apply.

Ipod Touch 2nd Gen not syncing photos
One of my ipod touch's albums to sync is iPhoto's "last import" album. It always updates the album every time I import new photos into iPhoto. However, it has stopped doing that. I have old photos in my album now instead of the most recent import. In "Last Import" on my iPod, it's showing me my import from two times ago, not the most recent. I've clicked SYNC in iTunes about 5 times, but it won't update. My music and podcasts are all updated, just not my photos.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

Just realised when reading other peoples problems that it is not actually letting me reset sync history???
