IPod touch - Restrictions password Unknown

What do I do if I can't remember the restrictions password on ipod touch?

- Either restore the iPod from a backup that does not have the Restrictions passcode
- or restore to factiory settings/new iPod.

  • IPod Touch Restrictions Password

My son got a new ipod touch 5g and set it up with the same name as his 2g that he is giving to his sister. He wants to reset the new iPod touch, but it asks for a restrictions password. We do not have this password. Where can we get the password or how can we get around this to reset his iPod touch 5g?

Then just restore to factory settings. This will delete all data.

  • Forgotten iPod Touch - Restriction Password lock out

My son has set his iPod restriction password differently to his main access password. However he can't remember what he set it to. Should he delete and reset everthing on his iPod?
Will this allow him to set new passwords to access his restrictions as well?
    Regards,

Two choices. If you added the Restrictions passcode after the lates sync (it includes a backup the restore from that backup. Otherwise you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. If the Restrictions passcode in in the backup it willbe restore with a restore from backup.

  • I daughter's iPod touch is password locked and authorized to computer that doesn't exist anymore. i want to set it up on my iTunes but it won't recognize it because of the failed password attempts. what can i do?

My daughter's ipod touch is password locked and attached to a computer that doesnt exist anymore. i want to authorize it to my computer itunes account but itunes wont even read it due to the password failure. what can i do?

That's by design. The password is designed to protect the user's information and cannot be circumvented. You can restore it to "new" condition though, and sync it to your computer. The iPod Touch's content will be securely erased by doing this.
Refer to iOS: Unable to update or restore. Follow the instructions exactly as written.

I bought an ipod touch today, hooked it up, and got this error

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Yeah! Same here... It's like when I connect my Touch to the computer and open itunes, it just freezes and i have to click the close button all the time... It's really annoying. It just happened a couple of days ago.

  • I don't have access to a computer and so,without physically  attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?

Sorry but no. The only way to restore an iPod to factory settings is through iTunes on a computer. You will need to get access to a computer somehow. If you can get to an Apple Store, they can probably help you.

If you forgot your screen-lock passcode then:
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

  • Could not copy song to Ipod Touch due to unknown error (-50)

I just received a new third generation Ipod Touch as a gift and installed the latest iTunes directly from Apple's website onto my computer (Windows 7 32-bit). I added my music folder to the library and imported an m3u playlist to iTunes. Then I connected my iTouch, followed the instructions to set it up, and then I wanted to sync my songs to my iTouch. I only wanted to sync the songs on my "Favorites" playlist that I imported, so under the Music sync settings, I selected the option to only sync selected songs, playlists, etc. and selected the Favorites playlist.
Then I attempted to sync the songs, but only a few songs would sync before an error popped up saying that it could not copy a specific song to the device due to an unknown error (-50). This error sometimes repeats for multiple songs and then the syncing stops. Each time I try to sync it again, it might sync a few more songs, but will always be interrupted by the error, after which it stops syncing. These songs are MP3 files. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
This is extremely frustrating and I don't know what to do. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I've managed to fix the problem and discovered the reason for it. When I dragged the playlist to the iTouch section in my iTunes (instead of pressing the "Sync" button) to sync the playlist to my device, it synced everything except for the handful of songs that were giving me errors. Then the error messages it displayed were more helpful in indicating what the problem was. They could not locate the song in the playlist on my computer because I had changed the MP3 tags a long time ago, sometime after I added them to the playlist, and it never updated. (Note: the playlist I was syncing was originally made in Zune player and then I saved it as m3u format) Hope this helps someone with a similar problem in the future.

  • IPod touch dead after Unknown error 1602 during upgrade to OS 4.02

Attempted an upgrade to IPod touch OS 4.02 last night. This morning it showed Unknown error 1602. It won't power on. I plug it into either this computer or another (both with latest ITunes) and Windows "One of the USB devices has Malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". Reboot of computer doesn't help. Holding power button or power and home button doesn't do anything.
No difference when attempting to plug it in while holding the home button (recovery mode). Has my daughter's ipod turned into a pretty brick?

  • Can't get through ipod touch 5g password without turning off 'find my iphone'

    hi!
i have a big problem. so when i was so sick and tired of my sister fooling around with my ipod touch (5g) i changed the password of it. then after a few while, i checked on it then opened it, to find out that the password i entered is incorrect. i started to remember that i changed it. ( swear, i have amnesia when i am angry/****** off) so.. i researched for possible solutions. then i found out that i need to use iTunes so i did. it told me to 'turn off find my iPod touch' which i can't do because my ipod is locked. so, i did some more 'researching' . what it told me to is to go to icloud.com/#find and remove the device etc. etc. and i followed it. BUT for some reasons, i just clicked delete.then remove from account. i thought that it would help it so i went back to iTunes and did the same process but surprisingly, it still tells me to ' turn off find my ipod touch' which i can't do because when i wen't back to icloud.com/#find , i saw a message saying that there's no device registered to my account. i have nothing left to do but to just ask here. btw, iOs 8.1.2 thanks in advanced

  • IPod Touch - Restrictions Four Digit Passcode - Failed Passcode Attempts?

I've have forgotten the restrictions four-digit passcode I set up on my iPod Touch. I've have so far entered the wrong passcode 11 times. I now have to wait one hour between each attempt.
Is there a limit to the number of attempts permitted?

There is a setting you can put on the Touch to erase the data after 10 failed passcode attempts. If you're sure you tried 11 times and your Touch did not erase, you must not have enabled that option.

  • Forgot ipod touch restrictions passcode

So my mom put on a restrictions a few years ago with my old itouch, and we never bothered to take it off.  When I received my new ipod touch this christmas, i backed it up to my old data, which unfortunately included the restrictions. Now my mom and I want to lift it but we forgot and have tried and tried every combination we had ever used. I DO NOT want to restore I. DO NOT!  some people say i can do it with a mac, but I only have a PC.
    So, Long story short:
    I want to lift restrictions
    forgot passcode
    DOES NOT WANT to restore<
    and doesnt have a mac
