If DFU function won't work, it would be better to restore your iTunes. Just make sure that you will have it backed up every once in a while so you'll have it ready for this type of problem.

  • IPod Touch Stuck On Apple Screen After Reset

iPod Touch would not show up in iTunes after being connected to the computer so I went through the online walkthrough of common problems, when I reset the ipod it froze on the apple logo and will not respond at all.
    Any solutions?

I was having the exact same problem with my Ipod touch, finally I figured out the problem after having tried all of those troubleshooting links, 1st I went into the start menu then right clicked on My Computer, then clicked manage. Then once I got into computer management I clicked on Device Manager, and at the bottom of the page I clicked the on Universal Serial Bus Controllers, it should say apple Mobil device right underneath, once you get there leave this page open. Open up itunes, connect ipod then hold the on/off switch and home button until itunes asks you to restore your ipod. Click restore, and it may say also say update and restore if so click on it. Then while it tries to restore your ipod click back on computer management and keep an eye on the apple mobil device USB port, you should get a warning that pops up next to the mobil device port, if you do double click on the apple mobil device and click reinstall.
Sorry this is so long and drawn out I hope that it helps.

  • IPod Touch stuck at loading screen after clicking Erase all Content and Settings

I have a 4th generation iPod Touch running iOS 5.0.1 and I recently jailbroke it. I wanted to update to iOS 6 so I went to Settings>Genera>Reset and clicked on Erase all Content and Settings. It is now stuck on the spinning loading screen and its been like this for 3 hours. My homebutton no longer works so I can't put it into DFU mode. I tried to restore in itunes but it won't even connect to itunes and dosn't show up at all. If you have any info, please post. I really don't wanna have to replace my home button or get a new iPod. Thanks

Try the following as much as you can without Home button working. When it says to place the iPod in recovery mode use this program.
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod touch crashed with white screen after using Griffin TuneJuice

    Hello all,
I have an iPod touch first generation that has worked flawlessly for about 1,5 years. Recently I bought a Griffin TuneJuice (external battery) to get longer battery life. The salesperson said it should work with the Touch, and it did at first. But later on it did not charge the iPod anymore. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, restarting the iPod and so on.
Suddenly the screen of the iPod went completely white after a reboot. I can not get it to show anything anymore. I have tried resetting (holding power+home for 10 secs), reformatting and restoring, upgrading the firmware to 2.2 but none seems to work.
Googling for the problem it seems everyone who encountered this got it repaired under warranty, which is obviously not a solution for me since it's too old. So what I need to know is from a technical point of view what goes wrong when the screen is blank. The iPod seems to work otherwise (for example, it syncs perfectly with the computer and the "clicks" are playing).
I guess that something must be wrong with the firmware at a lower level than iTunes can repair. Is it possible to repair the firmware by using some lowlevel tool?
Or could this be a hardware problem (the guy in the store suggested the docking connector might have broken or short-circuited). In that case, is there any good guide on how to open and repair an iPod?
From searching different forums it seems the problem is quite common, and I hope that someone smart enough has got the problem and managed to solve it.
    Thankful for any help.

hold the power bottom and the home bottom then it will shut off after that just turn it back on ,then it should work, it may take longer than 10 seconds, you gotta be patient.. because i had the white screen and did this, hope it helps.

  • I reset my ipod touch and the apple screen is frozen and already tried the steps on the apple website

I have reset my ipod touch 3rd generation and after doing so it is frozen with an apple in the middle of the screen and i have already tried the apple support page steps and still doesnt fix it, please help me out

The warranty does not cover accidental damage like that cased by  dropping the iPod. However, Apple has known to make acceptions. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  Otherwise Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99

  • IPod Touch Stuck on Apple Screen and iTunes won't recognize

I was resetting my ipod touch to clean it off to give to my sister. I thought it was plugged in, but turns out it was not, so the battery died while it was resetting itself. Now it is stuck on the apple screen. I have tried everything to reboot it and get iTunes to recognize the device, but nothing has worked. I had my computer cleaned, so iTunes is brand new and has never been hooked up to this iPod Touch. I need help please!!

TRy placing the iPod in DFU mode and then restoring. See:

  • IPod Nano Stays At Apple Screen, Then Shows Folder Sign

Hi, my brother has an iPod nano (2nd generation), and it has the problem that is stated above. It would turn on, show the apple sign, and then show the folder icon, then the address for apple support. We followed some of the directions that were shown on the page, such as resetting and then restoring, and no luck. We went to another PC and tried restoring it, and no luck either.
So I was wondering, what other solutions are there?
    iPod Nano   Windows XP

The same thing happened to my 20GB iPod and I tried everything that Apple troubleshoots told me to do but the only thing that would ever make it work was to slam it really hard with my hand. The only reason I could think that this method would work was that a part of the hard-drive had come loose. I tried to get a new iPod through the warranty but Apple wouldn't give me one, so instead, me and my father took apart my iPod and it turned out that the hard-drive was the problem. I hope you find someway to make the iPod to work but when the same problem happened to me, there was no way to fix it.

  • My sons iPod touch stopped working, it won't charge in a docking station and the computer/itunes won't recognize it when connected.  We have tried holding the power and home button at the same time for several seconds, and the screen still stays black

Hello skdog I possibly think your ipod touch is black because it has not charged. If your dock is broken it might just mean the dock will be broken and so might be the USB port. You should see an Apple shop nearby and hand it over and see what they can do. I hope this information works!
