IPod touch takes pics by itself

Ipod touch 5th generation takes pictures randomly they don't appear in my albums i did the update ISO 8.0.2 I am wondering if it's hardware or something I should be really concerned about.

If they do not appear in your albums how do you know you are taking photos?
I have not heard of the before.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. However, note:
Bug in iOS 8's 'Reset All Settings' Option Also Erases iCloud Drive Documents
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • While updating software on my iPod touch 4 my computerswitched itself off and now iTunes is asking me to restore to original settings but there are photos on my iPod that have not been backed up. Am I going to lose them?

While updating software on my iPod touch my computer switched itself off and now iTunes is asking me to restore to original settings. I have photos on my iPod that were not backed up so will I lose them if I resore to original settings? If so is there any way I can get them back?

After you restore to factory settings/new iPod you can restore from backup. See:

    That is your only choice

Try connecting it to your iTunes library in recovery mode using the instructions in this Apple support document.

Otherwise, try connecting in DFU mode.

  • Ipod Touch Takes Longer than my computer to start up.

Why does the iPod touch 4g take about 37 secconds to start up? My WIndows 7 pc takes 34 seconds to start up. I have iOS 4.3 and have not jailbroken my iPod.

Shouldn't take that long. You never really have to turn off your iPod Touch though, to be honest. Locking it is better for the battery and ensures that it is always ready for when you want it. The only advantage to turning it off is wiping the memory (RAM) clear, but you can do that manually by double tapping the Home Button, holding down on one of the apps found in the multitasking pane, and pressing the X.

  • IPod Touch takes over an hour to boot up??

Every time I turn off (or run out of battery power) my iPod Touch, it takes over an hour or two to boot up.  It will cycle through with the apple and a blank screen, then white out and start all over again.  If it happens while connected to iTunes, it will show up as loading in iTunes for a while, then appear as connected but on the5 Summary Tab, the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the iPod as full with "Other" when it should be a mix of apps, music, etc.
I have updated to the latest iOS, I tried resetting a while back, but nothing has changed.
It does seem to take less time to boot up when not plugged into a charger or to iTunes, but it still takes over 45 mins at least.
    What is wrong???

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

  • Ipod touch takes hours to sync

iTouch (v. 2.2) using iIunes (v. 8.0.2.20) takes several hours to sync. When reviewing the summary it actually "syncs" quickly but takes hours and hours to "backup."
    8mb (7.08 actual)
    4.83 Gb music
    2 Mb apps
    181 Mb other
    1.87 Gb free
Syncs calendars with outlook. "not older than 1 day"

    Hi tbarnardiii,
This could be a USB connection issue. Make sure the iPod is directly connected to a high seed USB 2 port and try the tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
What apps are on your iPod touch? Try removing the apps and test syncing again.

  • 3rd gen iPod touch: takes forever to copy songs

When I first got my 64 gb iPod, it took about two to three hours for is to copy over all the files. I was surprised at how fast it was, because my 32GB ipod touch took forever. In order to fix a problem I had with lyrics not syncing, I erased the iPod, which fixed the problem. I've started to copy my music, but it's taking forever. It's been going on for three hours now, and it's not even half completed. I know it's not the USB port or the cable or iTunes - I have an iPad that I use with the same setup that has no issues.
Do these flash based devices get slow over time?

I don't have it checked, but I almost think that that's what's being done. I checked the box a few months ago, but I lost all my lyrics. So I unchecked the box and transferred my music over again. Still no lyrics. I tried everything and couldn't get my lyrics to show up. Finally, last week, I erased my iPod and blanked out iTunes (deleted all the folders and .plist file for iTunes and my iPod). I have my lyrics back, but the slow sync is still there. I really think that my music is being squeezed down, even though I don't have the box checked. Is there any way to tell the bit rate of a song from the iPod?

  • My 4th Generation iPod Touch takes 480 x 640 pictures?! How can I up this resolution? It should be higher, right?

    Hello there!
This vacation I made pictures with my iPod touch (back-camera) but somehow the pixels I get on the pictures when I sync with my MacBook Pro are 480 x 640?! How can I up this resolution (either on the camera, or on the already taken pictures)? It should be higher, right?
Thank you in advance for your reply!
    Pieter Kroon

Ehmm... okay, after reviewing I understand what is going on. Some of the pictures are taken by the front facing camera and the back-facing camera is just not very good... It seems everything is good I am sorry for asking this stupid question, I should've investigated things further.
Anyway, thank you very much for your reply.

  • Computer Crashed - iPod Touch Wants to Erase Itself

My computer crashed and I had to get a new hard drive. I had just saved all my songs onto a flash drive, but did not do the 'proper' backup. Now when I plug my iPod touch into my computer, it tells me in order to continue, all of my items - music, apps/games - will need to be erased. None of the music was purchased - all songs were transferred/imported -, all of the apps are free apps. Does anyone know a safe way I can get back on iTunes without permanently losing all of my stuff? Also, will I need to re-register my iPod if/when I get back on iTunes?

    Welcome to the discussions,
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there to do it the other way, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
Apps can be downloaded again for free: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • IPod Touch takins pics?

I just noticed this that if i hold down the lock & home buttons, my touch will take a pic, this just started today. Is this possibly why my computer won't sync my ipod? Every time I have been trying to sync my touch, my computer freezes up & i have to do a hard shut down, atlctrldel doesn't even work, please help,

You took pictures of your ipod screen when you did this. Delete the screenshots from your pictures and try again to sync.

  • Why does synch of my iPod touch takes far longer than before iOS 5?

Synching of iPod before introduction of iCloud never took more than a few minutes and during the process iTunes reported how many photos or songs were being added or deleted based on what had changed on the iPhoto and iTunes libraries since the last synch event.
Now the synch process begins with a major "backup" effort and then lengthy processes in which it is not visible if or which photos or songs are being added or deleted.  The process takes up to an hour and I have been forced on more than one occasion to RESTORE the iPod in order to get the synch to work at all.
I carry my entire iPhoto library (about 20'000 photos, excl videos) and iTunes library (7500 songs) on the 64 GB iPod, for which there is plenty of space.  Why is synchronization no longer just the incremental process it originally was and now consumes far too much time?
    - Eran

I think it's normal...but you can try to do it again.

  • Why does my ipod touch take an hour to restore?

There's nothing I've really added to it (no videos, etc) to fill it up, but every time I try to restore it takes forever. I have several other ipods and have never had this problem before.
    Kate

A restore deletes all data on your device and reloads and installs all software.
    This takes time.

  • Ipod touch camera pics reversed.

Why are all my pics I take with the front (as in screen side) camera showing up reversed and how do I change this? Is this a setting I can set?
Thank you. Thank you very much.

There are no setting for the the camera.  You have to use a photo editing program.
