Ipod touch to projector???

how to connect ipod touch to projector?
what necessary things to be prepared?

You need a connector that is compatible with both the iPod and the projector.  See the following for iPod compatibility:
iPhone, iPad, iPod: TV out support
Note that the TV out does not mirror the iPod's screen and only works with specific apps.

  • Is there an iPod touch model which will work with a video projector via an HDMI cable?

I want to use an iPod touch to use an app called iSing Worship in our church. This app plays worship songs and enables the lyrics to be projected on a screen using a video projector. Is this possible and if so, which model iPod touch will I need to purchase?

    - If that app supports TV out,the app description will say, then you need a 4G or later iPod and the HDMI/Digital adopter cable. You can also use and Apple TV abd Airplay to the Apple TV
    - If the app does not suport TV out then you need a 5G iPod since the 5G will mirror the iPpd's screen, Yu then need
    - Via Airplay to an Apple TV.
    or this cable.

The VGA is for the 4G iPod only. The 2G can use the composite and component cables.

  • Export video from iMovie with maximum iPod Touch quality specs

We got an iPod touch to playback short films (made in iMovie) using Apple's composite video cable connected to a projector.
The published *TV and video* specs on the iPod touch webpage shows what the iPod Touch should be capable of playing back the following:
[1] +- H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;+
[2]+- H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;+
[3]+- MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats+
Exporting from iMovie using the *Share > Export Using Quicktime...* option and adjusting the settings to match any of those above creates files that iTunes refuses to copy to the iPod.
iMovies' *Share > Export Movie...* and iTunes' *Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone version* create videos with a bitrate of only ~1.6Mbps - both of which don't look great projected on a big screen.
Has anyone had any success exporting video at the published 2.5Mbps spec AND been able to copy them to the iPod Touch?
    Thanks!

Figured out how to get HQ 2.5mbps video on the iPod Touch.
By changing one of the options in iMovie's "Export using Quicktime..." option: "Export: Movie to MPEG-4 > Options... > Video Options..." resulted in a file that works on the iPod.
    Here's a screenshot of the settings: http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-hq-export.gif
Select the 'Baseline' profile ONLY (deselect the default 'Main' profile) and the iPod Touch will accept the file at 2.5Mbps - and, oddly, even bitrates higher than that, I managed to put a 20Mbps file on the iPod Touch.
    Here are some test files:
    4:3 - http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-test-2500kbps.mp4 (6.9mb)
    16:9 - http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-test-wide-2500kbps.mp4 (6.9mb)
Hope that helps someone out there!

  • Trying to loop/repeat a video for a continuous presentation on ipod touch

If anyone could help me out here, I'm trying to display a video from the ipod touch on a projector, it's just a 1 minute loop and so far I have no luck trying to get it to loop. I have tried to set it to repeat in photo libraries and play but it still never starts over. I have tried an app called CWG's Video Loop Presenter which seems to work but only on the ipod, and doesn't project the video into the projector. If you guys could help me out then that would be great. Thank you.

Thank you for the help, I resolved it a few minutes ago by making the video into a music video through the Get Info option and it is now in my Music app and I'm able to loop it just like I would loop a regular song.
    Thanks!

  • Ipod Touch 5th Gen - Music videos contained in playlists don't display in full screen mode

I am using an Ipod Touch 5th Gen. I have music videos contained in different playlist that are utilized for a class where they are displayed on a large screen through a projector. When I playback the videos through the playlists, they don't appear in full screen mode. I didn't experience this issue with previous versions of the Touch. If I access the videos individually through the video icon, they display correctly.

That is how it works now. Make a suggestion to Apple to fix it by going here:

  • IPod Touch and PJ258D

I bought a viewsonic PJ258D projector because it had a ipod dock on it. So you don't have to plug wires from the ipod to the projector to output video. Thats what i tought. I called the viewsonic tech support line. They said to me that i shouldnt have a problem with the touch, That i just need to enable a setting inside the touch for it to output video. But i cant find anything that will work. The only thing that work, is that i can hear the sound of the video i watch on the projector. Is there a way to force video output??? I know it was possible on other ipod models.
    Djee...

With new iPods the video output cable/dock requires a chip from Apple that will allow video out

  • WiFi, Keynote on 4th Gen touch, and Projector

I have a project coming up. In one corner of the room will be my 17" MacBook Pro with Keynote, hard-wired to a projector, and showing a slideshow (loop - no need to manually do anything). I have a VZW WiFi device with good reception/coverage at the site. If I download/purchase Keynote for my 4th gen touch, will I be able to - via WiFi - "control" my MacBook Pro and change slideshows from across the room? And/or edit a show on my touch (just text slides) and get it onto the projector?
Sorry if I am either (a) missing very basic concepts, or (b) not being as clear as I should be.

The Apple server a likely overloaded with the IOS 8.3 update.
You can try using these instructions but select iOS 6.1.6 for the 4G iPod. If yo select any other file you will get errors:
How to Install iOS 8.1.3 Update on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
Use the Step 5 update using iTunes instructions but download the iOS 6.1.6 firmware for the 4G iPod. Note that if you try to restore to earlier than 6.1.6 you will only get errors

  • IPod Touch and slideshows

I have been looking over the refurbished gear available at the Apple Store web-site, checking out refurb iPod Touches and iPads on sale there. I have a question:
Let's say I use iPhoto or PowerPoint or Keynote on my Mac to create slideshows for personal and business presentations. I understand it is possible to connect an AppleTV to an HDTV or a projector (using an adaptor) so one can use an iOS device (iPod Touch or iPad) to present said slideshow.
My question: If I bought an iPod Touch instead of an iPad to save some money and have greater portability, will the iPod be able to present slideshows that I make on my iMac? They don't loose any image quality or have any other compromises on the smaller device, do they?

The 5G iPod touch will be fine.
The only drawback is battery life but with these adopters you can also charge the device

  • Project games from iPod Touch

Anyone know a way to project the screen of the touch like they do at the keynote speeches? I have cables to run video / slideshows from my touch to my TV, but I want to project the apps in a meeting.

Well Dan Perkins,(today is your lucky day)...
I know of a recent product which is available today( places like amazon etc) for sell that is very similar like what you are looking for for a film projector that is compatible with the iPod touch/iPhone. Is the very first generation of devices to come so it might not be very cheap to buy, but is what you are looking for. The pocketsize multimedia pico projector that makes it amazingly simple to show and share your movies, videos, photos, games, and slides with friends anytime, anywhere. Below I will give you a link to the website if you are interested in that device....

  • Hyperlinks with Keynote for iPhone/iPod Touch

Hello, everyone. I bought Keynote hoping to use it to make classroom presentations with my iPod Touch, Apple's VGA adapter cord, and a projector. Although Keynote presentations show up through the projector through the VGA cord, it is not possible in Keynote's full-screen mode to activate any of the presentation's hyperlinks. On the iPod Touch alone (w/o VGA cord), a double-tap on a hyperlink opens it up in Safari. But this is of little use because A) without VGA adapter, no public presentation at all, and B) Safari on iOS is not (yet) compatible with the VGA adapter anyway.
Does anyone know of a way around this problem? Or how to lobby Apple to modify Keynote to allow for easy hyperlink triggers within a presentation, and to modify Safari to be compatible with the VGA adapter (or allowing the user to set an adapter-friendly browser as the default one for hyperlinks in Keynote)?
    Thanks.

Hey there. In answer to your question, all other clips that appear in my camera roll are easily seen by iPhoto. It is only those movies that I have created with iMovie for iPhone that iPhoto does not recognize. It's really strange, considering the fact that it's just a .MOV file. As a result, I've had to download a program called 'DiskAid' that allows me to transfer the .MOV file directly to my computer from the iPod Touch.
In answer to your question regarding whether or not iMovie for iPhone was worth downloading, I would have to say yes (assuming of course the import-to-iPhoto problem gets fixed). It's not a perfect program. My biggest complaint is that you have to import clips ONE at a time. There's no 'import all' option. This is really time consuming as you have to cycle through all the videos on your iPod or iPhone and manually tap each one and repeat. My dad likes to take a lot of 1-minute videos that then have to get spliced together and that can be really tedious with how this iMovie is currently set up. However, if you regularly think to add your clips to an existing project as you go along, things should be fine. It could do with a few more features and faster rendering times, but on the whole, it's a decent program. I have a feeling, though, that it was designed more for the YouTube generation who want to upload a five-minute video instead of people like my father and I who like to edit an hour or so and then eventually burn to a DVD. iMovie for the Mac still CERTAINLY has it's place.

  • Is there any way to charge an iPod Touch while connected to another device?

I'm using an iPod Touch connected to a pico projector (which is plugged into the wall), which of course limits the time I can run a presentation to the battery life of the iPod. Is there *any way* to charge the iPod while the connection port is in use (or otherwise connect it to A/C power)? I'm looking for any and all workarounds, though connecting it to a computer as a go-between is not an option. I'm using the Microvision SHOWWX pico projector, if it makes a difference. Thanks!

Aha - this Composite video a/v cable solved my problem. Not sure why I had such difficulty finding this solution. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A

OK. I assume I can use the device to hook up to a projector/a big screen TV as well like a computer?
