IPod Touch transfer to new mac laptop
Hey guys,
So I searched around and tried troubleshooting but im still having issues.
My old laptop died and all of my music is on my iPod touch that im trying to sync with my new authorized itunes.
When I hit SYNC it just says its going through the motions, then sync complete, but my music was not transfered.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
-Andy

How can I transfer music from my iPod touch to my new mac without a backup?
I've seen a lot of tutorials on how to do this from various websites. Some are for windows only and some only apply to iPods that aren't touches. What I want to know is, how can i transfer my music from iPod touch to my Mac without losing everything and without having to buy all my music over again (none of my music was purchased on iTunes)? It'll break my heart that 600 songs are all gone simply because I don't have a backup or I didn't purchase from iTunes. There has to be a way to do this. Help?
You need a third-party program like one of those discussed here.

I recently had my macbook stolen so I have purchased a new one. My entire music library is stored on my ipod touvh, I know I should of backed it up somewhere else, but it is too late for that. I am trying to move my music to my new laptop but the majority of my music is not apple purchases so they haven't transfered. How do I get ALL my music to the new computer, please help.
For non-iTunes purchased music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

How do i import the content on my iPod touch onto my new mac
When i connect my ipod to the computer and sync it with itunes it only transfers 31 songs out of 303. I have purchased songs as well as downloaded ones that i wish to transfer if it makes a difference.
iTunes is one way only, computer to iPod, except to transfer iTunes Store purchases.
There are several utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. Here are a few:

I tried to sync my iPod touch to a new MacPro laptop and it deleted all of my music and videos. I called tech support and they told me to email iTunes and they would give it back to me. How do I do this??
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
As IO said before:

I do not think it included audio books. -
Can I transfer music from my ipod to my itunes app on a new mac laptop?
Can I transfer music from my ipod to my itunes app on a new mac laptop?
Yeah! Click on your iPod when it shows up under "Devices" on the left side of iTunes while plugged in. Click on the music tab at the top and select "Manually Manage songs and playlists". Then click the arrow next to you iPod on under "Devices" and it will drop down "Music" "Videos" etc under it. Go to "Music" and select all your songs and drag them to the iTunes "Music" tab. They should copy over. Then you can go back and enable autosync.

When I connect my iPod Touch to a new laptop (Macbook Air) the "Info" tab won't appear and therefore I cannot sync it with my new iTunes. How can I sync this iPod with the iTunes on my new laptop?
There is no Info tab in Mavericks
if you use OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.

How do i sync my ipod touch to a new pc, as i can no longer get on my old laptop?
How do i sync my ipod touch to a new pc, as i can no longer get on my old laptop.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this? not good.
You can transfer itunes purchases form an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
You can enter a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. you should get the option to merge.
You can import any pics taken with the ipod, and e-mail any pics synced to the ipod to yourself.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which you sync. -
IPod Touch and a New Laptop...among other problems
Hi there - I've got kind of a mess on my hands, and I'm hoping someone is willing to help me sort it out.
I've got an iPod touch that I received as a gift from my parents Christmas 2009 (Model MC008LL) and it is working beautifully - no issues there - and I want to sync it to my new laptop (which runs Windows) and transfer my music here as well. The only article I could find (this one) a) doesn't apply to the iPod Touch and b) would require me to sync it to the old computer, which presents a new challenge entirely, as the old computer's motherboard fried about six months ago and we lost everything.
In addition, I'd like to know if there's a way that I can keep the music that's on my iPod as mine when I leave for college, which is in roughly a month. Everything was bought under my parent's account and the iPod itself is registered under my parent's account, and I'm afraid that if I try to sync it with a new computer and my new iTunes account, Apple won't let me keep my music. I don't want my music to be tethered to my parent's computers and accounts, you know?
To sum up, I'd like to import my music from my iPod Touch to my new laptop but:
the only articles I could find on the Apple website didn't apply to the iPod touch and if they did, I couldn't follow them anyways
iPod Touch is not synced to any computer as old computer is unsalvageable/paperweight status...iPod Touch still runs old version of software (4.2.1)
iPod Touch and all music within is registered under parent's iTunes account, which may present problem?
Is there anybody who has any idea of where I can start? It'll be much appreciated! You'll likely need the help of some 3rd party software to assist you with copying the contents of your iPod Touch back to your new iTunes library. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering several possibilities.

As for the iTunes account dilemma... Since the music was purchased under your parents account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to play and sync this content with your parents account credentials. From there, you can start to use your own account, but make sure to authorize your iTunes library for that account as well. You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer.
You cannot transfer purchases from one iTunes account to another, so as long as you have or want to listen to the music you purchased with your parent's account, you'll need to have your iTunes library authorized to do so. Sorry.

How do i transfer content from my ipod touch to my new PC's iTunes?
I recently purchased a new laptop. I wanted to know how I can transfer all my content from my ipod touch to my new PC.
Ideally you would have backed up the library from your old comupter on a regular basis, and have restored that library to your new computer...
You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!
