IPod Touch Turns Off Randomly. Please Help!

I got my iPod Touch 5th generation about 34 days ago. In the past 2 or 3 days my iPod has been shutting off randomly. I would be using an app, and it would be unresponsive, and turn a blue vertical lines on the top of the screen. I then have to use the sleep/wake button and the home button to turn my iPod back again. I bought it at Walmart because there is no local Apple store near me. It sometimes gets hot and I have turned off location services to make it cool down a little bit. I can trust Apple products usually, but this is out of the normal for me. Please help! Thank You very much in advance.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Your full charge capacity is about 75% of what it started as, and "Check Battery" suggests the system software sees a problem with your battery. You should start by resetting your SMC:

But it looks as though your battery is about done. Given that it has so few cycles, you should call AppleCare if you are still under warranty, and they may replace it at no charge. If you are out of warranty, you will have to buy your own battery.

IPOD NANO WONT TURN OFF! PLEASE HELP

my ipod is 3 days old and wont turn off! i bought it in singapore and i downloaded itunes on the computer in singapore and put songs and pictures on it, and it would turn off. the next day i was on the plane and i was listening to it and i went to turn it off and it wouldnt, i got it off by putting sleep timer on so it automatically went off but i couldnt turn it off by pressing play pause button or menu button. i have tried resetting it but wen you reset it you have to turn it off and i couldnt turn it off. everything else workd fine but it will not turn off!please help me its only 3 days old!!

The iPod does not need to be turned off to reset it. Here are the instructions for resetting the ipod. If this fails to do the trick you may want to try and do a restore.

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

every once in a while my ipod touch turns off and wont turn back on for a day or two. So why does it do this, it is from over use of the ipod?

Try the following fixes in order:
- Reset:

- Restore the iPOd to factory defaults/new iPod
If yo still have the problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Have you checked your Control Panel to make sure you don't have the flashlight turned on?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and make sure the flashlight icon (bottom left-hand corner) is not white. If it is, tap on it to turn it off.

seen this happen many times, usually always due to corrupt memory.......could be a power module in the Mini, but unlikely. hold down command R on startup, see if you can get into safe mode or ANY SCREEN ...If under warr. call mac for a service check, ....BUT if you have spare memory around that is compatable, try that first, process of elimination diagnostics.

A few days ago, my ipod started turning off by itself. Now, I can't get it to turn on at all.I pluged it into Itunes, and it says it needs to restore my ipod. Ipod touch restore problem *URGENT PLEASE HELP*

Ok well I just inherited an Ipod touch from my friend who upgraded to a iPhone and it has a lock code, which I don't know. I called up my friend and asked him the code, he didn't know it of course... so i just guessed passwords and it said it was locked, I only have one more try until it locks permanently. So, I tried resetting it and it didn,t work. so i put it in recovery mode and it was gonna be ok, but my problem is I have slow dial-up internet and cannot re-download the software because my internet turns off randomly and it takes about 35 hours straight to download the 280MB, my other problem is that every time the download is disrupted, what itunes has already downloaded deletes itself and I have to start over from zero. I cannot fully download the software and have no access to hi-speed internet, I need a solution please otherwise im sitting here with a $300 piece of junk.

Just bring it over to your friends house and have him reset it for you. Then bring it to your house to put your music on it.
It is as simple as that. Too bad you have dial-up still. I use broadband and it is very fast.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Try connecting the iPod to its syncing computer and restoring the iPod.
If you can't restore, see if resetting the iPod will allow a restore:

Ipod nano firewire error and will not turn off! PLEASE help

I am having the exact same problem as I see may of you unfortunate Apple users are. I am receiving the error message about firewires and I have never used one. The nano will not turn off and I have to let the battery run out. The play/pause function works perfectly fine, but not to turn off the nano. The sleep function does not do anything either. I am so disappointed with Apple because they would not help me on the phonbe since it is well past my first 90 days of ownership. I may have gotten a single drop of water on it, but that was about 2 weeks ago, and still having the same problems. Lastly try restoring to factory settings.
If none of this works, it's probably a hardware problem. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your Apple store. You are under warranty and they will fix or replace it on the spot.
