try to set the 'volume limit' to 'off'.
You will found that in Settings -> Music --> Volume Limit.
Or there may be a number of reasons; like : the poor audio quality of the music you have loaded.
Use some good quality songs; then I think, it will be fine.

When looking at podcasts with my Ipod touch's itunes app, when i attempt to download podcasts from the nerdist podcast, the itunes app freezes and shuts me out for a minute or two. This only happens on some podcasts but not all.

Okay so, with some patience and some tinkering... It appears to be a problem with the most popular podcasts. Maybe something to do with so many people downloading it at the same time? Anyway, I've found you just have to wait it out. Keep your itouch active and from going to sleep and eventually it will load the podcasts and you will be able to download them. On average it takes me anywhere from 2 to 8 minutes to get my most popular podcasts, I just keep it on the screen and keep it from going to sleep

IPod Touch will not update when using iTunes Remote App...

Hi all, hoping that someone can help here...
I am using a couple of iPod Touch's to control my iTunes and Airport via the Remote App. In the main the whole thing works really well with wireless music all over the house via Airport and Apple TV.
The main frustration is that the Touch's have stopped updating as the tracks change. This used to work but unfortunately didn't notice when it stopped.
If I play anything, iTunes DJ, playlist etc... it appears that the first track is the one that displays unless I close the app and re-open.
I can still play/pause/ffwd/rwd and it all works despite what is showing on the screens which is really confusing...
The the two iPhone 4's and the iPad 2 work perfectly so am at a loss as to figure out how/why etc.
I run iTunes on a WinXP machine, with iTunes 10.2.1.1 and the iPod Touch's are both running 4.2.1 (8C148). On is model MB533BT and one is MB528BT.
Any help/suggestions greatfully appreciated.

UPDATE:
Whilst I was typing this I noticed that whilst in the study both iPods updated with each track change for some considerable time. I do wonder whether there is something in this as the router was less than one metre away.
I also then noticed that the one that stopped updating was the 8Gb model MB528BT. The other unit, the 32Gb MB533BT has continued to work.
Completely flummoxed with this!

Hello. I have a question about my iPod touch (8 GB, 1.1.4, January Software Upgrade). When I go to Safari and browse the web, or when I'm watching a long video (YouTube and memory) the iPod gets really hot, particulary on the top, near the Sleep-Wake button. Is this normal or should I worry?

Is it hot to the touch? or is it warm? My iPod only gets warm, but not hot, down near the home button after/during a sync or watching videos/searching the web.

I am using ITUNES 11 on Win 7 64 bit. I can download podcasts to my IPOD touch just fine but when I click on the ITUNES store I get an error message that stays "ITUNES has stopped working". How do I trouble shoot or fix this? Thanks

If this is the problem following the instruction. Frequently it is a hardware problem.
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
Otherwise try (assuming that other devices see your network)
- A reset. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power of and then back on your router.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

My daughter got a new ipod touch and set it up using my apple id. It sync'ed and got my contacts, so she went ahead and deleted them off her ipod. Unfortunately, my iphone then 'synced to the cloud' and I lost all my contacts.

So, I wiped my iphone and did an icloud backup/restore. This restored all my apps, but my contacts are still the ones from when my daughter did her update. It doesn't appear as though I got back my contacts, even though I chose an icloud backup from before the deletion. Logging into icloud shows the reduced/deleted contacts, not the full list I had, and I can't see a way to revert back to an old copy.
Any ideas? I thought restoring from the cloud would have done it, but the contacts I got were the 'current' copy, not an older/archived copy.
I'd appreciate any ideas. None of the articles I found seemed to address retrieving an 'old' copy of your contacts from the cloud.

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

IPod Touch 4th Generation, can you use without downloading iTunes to your computer

My son got an iPod Touch for Christmas. When charged and turned on, it only shows a picture of a cord and the iTunes logo. We've been trying to download iTunes to my computer (asked question over at iTunes forum as keep receiving 'iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application' error and will not download, dial up, Toast, IE9) and can not get it done. I have been told there is no disc that can be sent to me to start iTunes on my computer. We've taken the iPod to a local WiFi spot but the screen will not change. (And could not download at the local WiFi spot iTunes to my computer either.)
Is there anyway to start this iPod Touch without having iTunes downloaded to your computer? This was not mentioned anywhere when I bought the iPod for Christmas and we are very upset that he has been unable to even use his present. No one in my community knows how to fix this, no one has WiFi and the local WiFi spot, I have already sat there for 6 hours trying to get this done and keep getting this error.
We are very disgusted with the whole business and have gone out and bought him something of his choosing and are about ready to nix the whole business with iPods, iPads and anything 'i' related between myself, my family, and my whole community because we feel its wrong to have something that can't be used unless you have faster than dial up service. What's the point of getting anything from Apple if you can't use it do to the area you live in not having reception or satelite service? If you're getting the "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application" error, it likely means that you may have tried to download the 64bit iTunes Setup exe (application). You mentioned you couldn't download because you have dialup, However, even with dialup you should be able to download iTunes. You can go to the following apple site and scroll down and click on the Windows 32 bit version of iTunes. On dialup it will take a while to download, but it can be done. See if this helps.

That is what i've notice after upgarding to iPod touch (ver. 3.1.3) and iTunes (ver. 9.0.3). I lost my WIFI connection, i used to connect to free WiFi hotspots, but now can't do, previously i have the (ver. 3.1.2) and run pretty good. What happen to this? Apple should take action for this.

Well since 3.1.3 had absolutely nothing to do with WiFi, this is truly a random occurrence. Try the following:
- For home use, reboot your router (just remove the power)
- on the touch, reset the network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Connections
BTW, you are not talking to Apple here. We are all users just like you.
