I'm a teacher and I need to use my IPOD touch to video my class. Can I burn such a video to a DVD? and How?

Transfer the video to your computer using the procedure outlined in the iPod touch user's guide. From there you'll need appropriate editing software, if you want to edit the video, and DVD burning software to create the disk. If you have a Mac, it should have come with iMovie for editing and iDVD for creating and burning the DVD. If you have a Windows system, there will be similar software though I can't make specific recommendations.

iDVD is not longer officially supported by Apple, but still works like a champ.
In iMovie 10, go to File>Share>File, choose the size (probably should choose either SD or Large) then click Next, give it a name, then click Save (remember where you saved it).
When the activity indicator shows that the Share has completed (may take a while depending on your hardware and the length of the movie) go to iDVD. Go to File>Import>Video and select the file you just created. It will bring the video into your iDVD project.

Every chapter in the timeline could be transfered to DVD Studio Pro, and then used in DVD navigation. 1.1.3 - iPod Touch video podcasts play sound; only still image

For some strange reason, since getting the new update (but not the January update as I'm not going to pay £13 for that!) for my iPod Touch, video podcasts of trailers downloaded from Apple Trailers through iTunes play as sound files with a random frame from the video appearing as album art.
So if I turn my iPod Touch horizontal, the single image shows up at the end of Cover Flow as audio podcasts do when being played. However, there is no video at all. Normal videos play fine.
What the **** is going on?

Oh ... I'm so stupid. Sorry - when I wrote that they don't show up under VIDEO, I didn't actually check.
They are there and they do work. In fact, I think that as long as people like me remember which is which, having videos only play audio when played from the PODCASTS section is quite useful in some circumstances.
I've learnt my lesson.
Now if only I could get that update for free ...

Shaky Video when Burned to DVD

Hello all,
Call me an amatuer when it comes to camcorders. I have a Sony DCR-SR40 HDD camcorder and when I take video recorded on this device, transfer to my Mac, and then edit in HD 6, the video (when played back on a DVD) comes out shaky for action video where people are moving. It is almost like there are tracers when they are moving.
When the raw footage is played back in its native mpg format it looks fine, and when it is burned using Sony's "One Touch" DVD burn the video is not shaky or look like it has tracers, it looks fine. I am thinking it has to do with the quality of the image being recorded by the video camera and that when it gets compiled/burned to DVD it causes the shakiness. It has done this in iMovie HD 6 and in Adobe Elements 3.0. Is there a fix for this?
If it is just a camcorder issue, any recommendations for a good quality camcorder to capture sports footage (Football) that would burn great in iMovie and not have that shakiness/tracers?

Mpeg2 is an output format... but you are using it as your source file in Premiere... what is the source of the file?

You are then exporting to Quicktime... which Encore must then encode to MPEG2 to make a DVD (the VOB on a DVD is a renamed MPEG)
You are starting with a compressed file... exporting which may add more compression... and compressing again in Encore... it is no wonder your DVD has lost quality

How do I import an iPod touch video back to my iPod once I've downloaded it to my Macbook??

I took a video on my new iPod touch. Transferred it to my Macbook. Now realize I want to be able to view it on my iPod. Once something is downloaded and deleted from my iPod, can I reverse that?

It'll need to be imported into iTunes first and then configured to sync to your iPod from under the Movies/Videos tab.

Itunes/Ipod Touch Video Playback Problem

Hi all!
I am asking all you Ipod guru's for some help and insights, as I am getting slightly frustrated...
Background:
For a project at work I am trying to set up a video podcast feed with video's we have created for our customer.
The idea is that everyone at upcoming management conference will receive a Ipod Touch, with some easy explanation on how to -through a feed- download all our video's for them.
For that purpose I have set up a testfeed (checked and doublechecked) to get the videos into Itunes.
The feed works, the channels and videos show up under Podcasts and the videos are playable in Itunes (latest update) with no problems.
Now the problems start:
When I connect an Ipod Touch, check manual syncing (I don't want to touch what is already on there), and drag the videos to the Ipod, the videos only show up under the 'recently added' category. The channel does not even show, and even though they are videos.
I can play the videos from there in Itunes, and they work fine.
When I eject the Ipod, and then want to watch the videos, I have to really search for them: they are under Music (!!), under 'recently added', and only play the sound, not the video (although the first frame of the video is shown).
To try and circumvent the problem I directly imported the video into Itunes, instead of through the feed (although that totally negates the whole idea to begin with), the videos nicely show up under the Video category in Itunes.
When dragged from there to the Ipod, all works. As I then want to see those newly added videos on the Ipod, they NOW promptly show up in the video category, and play perfectly, with image and sound, and fullscreen.
So, the problem is not with the video itself. What am I doing wrong?
(nothing has changed in the videos at all from the beginning of the process, the videos were already Ipod-ready)
Any thoughts, where do the problems originate? Can I do something in the feed already, or...?
Any ideas will be most welcome!

P.S. it's also impossible to delete the uploaded video's that ended in the 'recently added' category

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
What if you create a playlist in iTunes with the Podcast's name on it?
I can't really think of any other way around this until it gets fixed.
Oh, and send Apple feedback on this issue - it will help bring it to their attention.

IPOD Touch - Videos Not Syncing....Error - 69

Hi, I just got my Ipod Touch today, and I'm having trouble getting it to sync my videos. I have tried syncing all and syncing just one or 2 and it keeps telling me Error - 69.
Any Ideas?

make sure the videos are the correct format
they need to be either bought through itunes, making sure you're using the itunes you registered that ipod with
or converted with itunes, by right clicking on the video and choosing "Covert Selection for ipod/iphone"
or converting with Videora ipod touch convrter
make sure itunes can find your videos, if you move or rename the folder containing your videos, then you need to reload them into itunes

IPod Touch video out to Composite "Hard Starting"!

Did you ever own a car that was a beast to start on a cold winter morning?
Well, same thing with my iPod Touch 4 to a composite video display. I connect it, then go to YouTube to play a video or into my Movies folder to play one of my own.
I press play, and one of the following happens:
1. Video & Audio continue to play through iPod Touch(most common).
2. Audio only plays through TV speakers.
3. Video only through TV, audio via iPod Touch Speakers.
Sometimes it works only after I power down and power up the Touch.
Why does playing a video out to an external display have to be like starting an old car - multiple attempts??

My iPod touch 4gen video out does work - but rarely on the first try. And I always make sure to have it connected before bringing up the YouTube or personal video I want to show.
As for my wife's iPhone 4, I was updating the OS and noticed that one of the update items included "Video Out".
Is video out not standard on iPhones as it is on Touches?

Ipod Touch Video Out not working with IOS5?

I normally could play video just fine from my Ipod to my TV and Exercise machine via the ipod plug in on the bottom...however since IOS5...video will play for secs. on the TV then TV goes blank....sound works and the IPOD Touch displays the normal "Vidoe out" screen mode that normally shows when the video is being displayed on the TV. any ideas? any way to revert back to the previous OS?

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
What cable are yu using and what is the source of the videos?
Have yu tried another app that supports TV out?

You can try restarting or restoring the iPod touch.
To restart the iPod touch hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPod back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 36 of the iPod touch 3.0 User Guide.

IPod Touch - Video out

Hi,
Recently bought a cable to run video from my iPod Touch to tv etc.
When i play a movie (purchased on iTunes) there is a consistent hesitation or jerk in the video. It mainly occurs when there is full screen movement / change so to speak. If the image only has a small amount of change all is ok, but when the whole screen needs updating it will jerk or hesitate every 5 or so seconds.
Any ideas?
I have the latest updates installed and its a genuine cable and i have tried it on several TV's.

Simple fact ist that the decoding of H.264 brings the pod (till 3G) to the limit. 4G should play much better because of its faster processor.

IPod Touch Video Recording

I was just wondering if anyone here knew about how to or if there is video recording for the iPod Touch. I'm talking about recording the actual screen of the iPod. I know there are ways to do it with a jail broken iPod touch, but jail breaking messed up my last iPod so I really don't want a repeat of that. Does Apple have any software downloads or apps out that can do this? I know that you can take a picture of your screen, so video recording would just be the next step up. If they don't have anything for it, I was also wondering if anyone knows if they are researching on how to do this or are waiting for a new release of the iPod touch to test it out. Thank you in advance.

I did take the video with the back camera. I emailed the video as an attachment and downloaded it. Under the file’s properties, the video image resolution is listed as 320x568. Is it possible that the either the camera or mail application compress the frame size?
