Ipod touch wants to die on me.........

I have had this ipod touch for about a year now and up until now it has been working perfectly. I bought it prior to the app store coming out so i had to pay for the 2 separate software updates to make this do what they designed it for. I paid. it worked. Now I move to spain and my wifi will not connect anymore. My apps will not sync. I don't know *** is going on. I know the wifi works because i am posting right now via my macbook and i am using the wifi signal. the wifi signal on the ipod touch shows full signal strength but when i click on mail or on safari it says "can not open page safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet. i have tried restoring my ipod. i have tried forgetting the network. Nothing seems to work. Please help me. I feel like I want to smash this thing with a hammer. Please help.

don't smash it up! i'm sure we can solve the problem.
did you change your wifi settins when you moved? have you tried re-entering the information on the ipod?
(wifi isn't my strong point, but others will be able to help more specifically)

Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

No, there is no way to get theiPod touch to show % of battery remaining in the upper right.  There are apps that will show % battery but only in the app, not in the upper right.

  • My iPod touch 4g has died, I tried to recover it, it won't work?

I saved up for 6 months for my ipod touch 4g and paid 170 pounds for it. I was very pleased with it, but now it has just gone out of the 1-yr guarantee I am experiencing problems:
First, a sign came up saying "No more iCloud storage is available" and I clicked "OK". Nothing happened, I clicked it again and again and the other option, "Settings" and nothing happened.
Then I had to put it into Recovery Mode. I synced it to my old Sony VAIO PC, and started to return it to its factory settings (after I'd saved all the photos and apps). The procedure for setting it back to factory settings reached about 3/4 of the bar, before stopping and going back to 1/2, then to 3/4 of the bar again, back to 1/2, and so on. It keeps doing a Software Update again and again.
Now i'm just waiting for the battery to die out, and then maybe try it again. I can't switch it on or use it, it just says Connect to iTunes which I've already tried several times.
I don't know what happened to the iPod. I'm a kid, I saved up for this iPod with my own money, and now it's been taken away from me.

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • IPod Touch wants to connect to iTunes, but iTunes Freezes

So, my iPod Touch is the one before the one with the camera. Can't remember what gen that is supposed to be. Whatever. Anyways, about two years ago with on iTunes update, my iPod totally reformatted or whatever and I lost everything. I had trouble putting everything back onto the iPod. I got so frustrated that I stopped trying and haven't touched it since. Now I'm going on holiday and want music to take for the flights so I decided to give it another shot since there have been quite a few updates since then. I plugged in the iPod, it took a few minutes to charge up since it was absolutely dead before trying to connect. The second that it did, iTunes froze. I tried unplugging it. iTunes instantly worked again. Plugged the iPod back in and it froze. I repeated this multiple times and got the same result. I then went into my iPod settings and cleared all the content. Took over an hour to erase everything. Once it was done, the iPod indicated that it needed to be plugged into iTunes. I plugged it in and BAM, iTunes froze again and the iPod continues to indicate that it wants to connect despite being connected. What do I do?!?!?!? Please help.

I have looked at it, but it didn't solve any of my issues. A while ago I went to the family computer and tried plugging my iPod in there. Magically, it worked right away. iTunes was not freezing and my iPod was recognised. Unfortunately, that computer has no music on it so it didn't help. I returned to my laptop, plugged in my iPod and it worked! I thought my problem was solved, but I was sadly mistaken. From there, I waited 2 hours to transfer all my stuff over. I ejected, and unplugged. I then realised that I'd accidentally forgotten to transfer some of my albums into iTunes itself which I wanted on my iPod. I went to plug my iPod back in and once again it would not recognise. I went back to the family computer, plugged it in and worked without a problem. When I returned to my laptop, once again it would not connect. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I ran an iTunes Diagnostic test. All the tests were passed. I even got the "iPod found" result. The sync test that occured afterwards, however, failed instantly. I tried the Diagnostic test on the family computer. When it came time to do the sync test, a black rectangular box popped up and ran through some stuff (sorry, I'm not very tech savvy). Afterwards, it said the sync test had been passed. This black rectangular box has never appeared on my laptop.
    What could this mean?

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen. dying

ive only had my itouch for a year, and already its dying within one day. i charge it completely, or 3/4, only listen to music and go on facebook on it, and it already says ive only got 20 percent power left. is there any way i could make it last longer?

My year old ipod touch 2nd gen is also dying even when I'm not even using it!
I've always made sure to get it fully charged before unplugging it and i don't use excessive memory apps.
This morning I charged it all morning until it had been on the fully charged sign for at least another hour. I put it on my bed because the next time i needed it would be when i go to sleep.
I just grabbed my ipod and it said 20% battery- but i didn't use it at all!
Will the apple store replace this ipod or fix it for me?

  • My iPod touch battery is dying when fully turned off.

I have had an iPod touch 5th generation for about 2 months and it's worked perfect until a couple days ago. The battery started dying even though I fully turned off my iPod. I fully turn off my iPod touch yet with a fully charged battery over night my iPod will be almost be dead when I turn it back on in the morning. Also when in sleep mode and no wifi being used my battery will still die within a 8 hour period of time but in these same circumstances a week ago my battery would only decrease about 10% max. What's wrong with my iPod? Can it be fixed? If not, how do I get a new new one replaced?

    Hi,
Try a Reset... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...
You may have to try this several times...

  • IPod Touch got wet, died. I need my notes...

My iPod Touch got wet and it's gone. I can get to the screen (albeit dim) that shows the slider to unlock it but the touchscreen is unresponsive. The computer won't recognize it.
My main problem is I have some very important notes that I need.
Does anyone know how to get the notes from the backup file "data.syncdb"?

  • New iPod Touch-want to load videos created using Final Cut Studio

I'm unable to transfer movies I create on my Mac into the iPod Touch. I'm assuming all transfers to the iPod need to go through iTunes - is this correct?
I created a video in Final Cut Pro, then compressed two versions of podcasts in Compressor.
H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 320x320(QVGA)
H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 640x640(QVGA)
I then dragged them into iTunes library, thinking they would go into the Podcast folder, but instead they went to the Movie folder.
I synced to the iPod, and they fail to transfer/load. I then selected "Create iPod or iPhone Version" from the iTunes "Advanced" menu in case there was some file issue, but was unsuccessful in dragging it to the Podcast folder.
Does the iPod Touch sync up to all iTune's folders, or, is it limited to what's in the Podcast folder?
Is there a utility that exists to verify the video files are of the correct format.
Are there other steps I am missing?

For anyone else in the same situation - videos created in Final Cut Pro and compressed using either of the Compressor settings will create podcasts that can be synced up and play on the iPod Touch,
The problem was the "Sync Movies" setting - it was disabled. The challenge was finding the settings, and wouldn't have been an issue prior to release of version 3.0 software upgrade notice.
The "Sync" settings were where I first looked, from within iTunes, but as I said, the device settings were being hidden by an "Apple commercial" for the version 3.0 software upgrade - once I clicked on "Remind Me Later" I was able to see the 8 tabbed configuration screen. I guess marketing trumps usability.

  • Ipod Touch 4G 8GB Died Help

My Ipod touch I've had For about 5 Months Quit working its a 4TH generation touch And just randomly quit working Wont turn on I tried the Hold Sleep And home button trick Didnt work I Did this for about 2 minutes and Still Nothing Any suggestions Im starting to get worried about My Touch
Also Wont even pop up in ITunes
What Kind of Hardware Error Is this associatied with If it is one?

No need for the super-large font.  It serves only to turn people off.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Don't worry - if the worst happens, you're still in warranty!

  • Why does my ipod touch 5th generation die so fast?

Okay! I received my iPod Touch 5g as an Xmas gift (back in 2012). During  majority of 2013, my iPod's battery barely drained as it does today. In,October of last year (when i updated to ios 7) that's when I noticed the change. It charged very quickly (100%) and went to (20%) in 40 mins. Does anyone else have this problem?
    Other info:

  • Ipod Touch wants to be plugged in, but Itunes wont see it

I know this may sound like a repeat of a lot of other topics but here is what I have done:
I downloaded the new ipod touch update last night and when it tried to install it it failed. I completely erased every since Itunes product I had from my computer and reinstalled it. When I did that, it told me to install a USB Composite device. I told it to automatically find it, and Im guessing that installed USBAAPL.sys. It said it installed the devices, but my Ipod Touch still is telling me to plug it in to Itunes.
I have also tried the start and stop on the Apple Mobile Device in the Administrative tools so that doesnt work. What should I try next?

Just for a quick update, I decided to redo all my installations for the second time. I am now at square one where the computer says "New Hardware Found, USB Composite Device." This is where my problems start, and I wont do anything until I know what to do next for sure. Usually I tell it to automatically fix it, but that doesnt get my computer or my Itunes to recognize it
