Ipod touch Wifi problem... Please Help :(

Hi. Ive just recently started having trouble with my ipod touch. I cant stand more then 10 yrds away witout it detecting my wifi. All my other devices work fine. Ive tried reseting my ipods and making it back to its normal form and resetting the network and still no result. Ive also turned it off for a few mins and still no results . I recently did though get a little crack on my ipod touch maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago on the top left part of the screen I dont know if that has anything to do with it or what... Idk what I can do. Could someone give me some advice. Should I go to an apple store today? How much might it cost to get this fixed?

I had an iPhone that did the same - it would connect to my wi-fi network and the disconnect. After restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone with no change, I made an appointment at an Apple store where it was confirmed the iPhone has a hardware problem.
If you have tried everything included with the link provided including restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem as I've provided 3 times now.

IPod Touch WIFI problems

my iPod touch 16GB has had WiFi problems for about
two weeks now.
it says that im connected to my network. but i keep getting an error saying
"safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding"
help?

I just solved this same issue by downloading a firmware update for my wireless router. Give it a shot!

Ipod touch WiFi problems to be fixed in 3.0 Firmware?

Basically, I bought my ipod touch brand new about a month ago (2G, 2.2.1 firmware). Ever since I opened it (approx. 2 weeks ago) the WiFi has been pretty sketchy. I get an error "server stopped responding" a lot (maybe like 2-8 mins of browsing) on safari as well as apps.
I took my problem to the apple store and the guy basically did a diagnostic and said nothing was wrong, but my apps were crashing a lot. He did a complete wiping of the hard drive (back to factory with all of my apps gone and stuff) and basically It still doesn't work right.
So, Should I go back to the apple store? Or, Are these problems planned on being fixed in the 3.0 Firmware? If you have any other solutions please let me know

3.0 is supposed to have some WiFi fixes - I'll let you know in a week or so. However, your problem with WiFi is most likely a router or DNS problem. The router part is easy - just reboot it by unplugging it and then plug it back in. DNS problems are an ISP issue and if that is what is going on, you should notice the same type of lag with your MacBook.
Fixing DNS problems are reasonably easy. Check out OpenDNS.com which will provide you with both instructions and an alternate to your ISP's service.
App problems can be caused by many things, including the app itself. What the Genius did for you at the Apple store was to restore you iPod to new. You can download your apps again without having to pay for them.

Ipod Touch-WIFI Problems-Can't Connect More than One at Same time

I'm not an Ipod Touch user yet, but three family members are. Unfortunately, only one will connect to the Internet on our home wifi at a time. Each one works just fine on its own and will make the connection, but if one is already turned on it blocks the others. I have a laptop and it connects fine regardless of the Ipod Touch issues. I'm using a Linksys router if that matters. Looked everywhere but can't find someone experiencing similar issues. Thanks for any ideas/thoughts/help!

Take a look at your router's settings for DHCP. Normally there is range associated for the allocation of IP addresses for wireless devices. For example, you would set DHCP to on, IP address range from 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.128. The normal defaults on the router should have given you an adequate range of address but you may have inadvertently changed something.

Something's Wrong With My iPod Touchs' Screen. PLEASE HELP

Ok. Well i jus got an iPod Touch for Christmas. It's been working fine up until a few days ago. What's wrong is that my screen is not working right all of the sudden. About halfway down the screen the screen won't respond when I touch it. It's like i never even touched it at all. The rest of the screen works perfectly when I touch it but it's only a horizontal area across the middle of the creen that won't respond. I have already reset it 3 times and i even restored it back to factory condition but still, nothing. If anyone has had this same problem or knows how to fix this, PLEASE tell me how to get it working again. This device is like 2/3 of my life nd i wud hate to not be able 2 use it anymore. Thanks!

I need help i recently had to replace my screen(lcd) and i did it but all my screen did was light up no apple logo just white screen i did everything replaced screen i did the home button sleep button thing restored etc. please i have a worthless ipod till you help. PLEASE HELP i will do anything. i took the whole thing apart to make sure again and still nothing.

IOS6 WiFi Problems, please help!

I have the iPhone 4 and updated to the iOS6 today. Well after updating my wifi will not work.. The thing is I am at college and the wifi here you have to go to Safari and type in username and password everytime. Well when I go to do so, it will not load. PLEASE HELP.

I found a solution that has worked on both iPhone 4's I have that have had the same issues, and also including not being able to download updates in the App store.
Go to Settings > WiFi and turn it OFF.
Next go to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it OFF
Next go back to Settings > WiFi and turn it ON, (wait a few seconds for it to sync with your network)
Finally go back to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it ON.
I had the same issues on both my wife's phone, and my own, and it fixed it immediately without changing any proxy settings or reboots, (which I did try on my phone and did not work, but did not try on my wife's phone)

Can't add songs to ipod touch...Please help?

Okay. I downloaded some new songs to my computer. I added them to my ipod without any problems. Then I went to add them to my sister's ipod. The first 5 songs went on just fine, but when I tried to add the next few songs, I said something along the lines of "Unable to sync, unknow error" and then a 4 or 5 digit number. It only said it once and the message doesn't pop up again when I try again so I have no idea what the numbers were.
Now whenever I drag songs to the ipod, the ipod is highlighted and the box with the plus sign shows, as if it is going to work. But when I release the song, nothing happens. It doesn't sync the song, there's no error message, nothing.
I'm really reluctant to do a restore or anything similar because our music is spread out over about three different computers, and several months ago I had a virus on my computer so some of my music isn't on ANY computer.
I've already tried restarting both the ipod and the computer, and I tried plugging the ipod in

- Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Also reboot the computer.
- Then try again and remember the complete error message

Touch connectivity problems - please help!!!

I've got an 1st gen 8Gb Touch that has been fine for ages until now !
Safari can't open a web page - I get the message "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server". Also Mail, YouTube, Weather and Stocks don't update.
It is showing I'm connected to my WiFi network and all the other computers in my house can connect to the internet without any problem. I haven't changed anything on mt router or Touch from yesterday when everything was working fine
I've just tried restoring the Touch through iTunes but this hasn't solved the problem I'm afraid

Have you tried resetting your network settings?
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Even though you just restored the iPod, try this step if you restored it from your backup vs. setting it up as a new iPod.
If that doesn't help, try powercycling your router. Just turn it off for about 10 seconds, turn it back on, check your Wi Fi settings to make sure you're connected, and then try Safari/other apps again.

New Ipod Touch, WiFi problem.

I just got my Ipod yesterday brought it home hooked up connected to my WiFi fine. Now today I keep getting "Unable To Join Network" message. I've checked a few sites to see what to do and am still getting the same error.
Any help would be great as I have no idea what to do.

But when I go back to home screen it says I'm connected to WiFi but browsers or nothing work still.
That indicator only means your touch can connect to the router - not that the router has connected your touch to the Internet.
Go to: Settings>Wi-Fi then touch the blue triangle to the right of the router you are connected to. What IP Address is shown? (If it starts with 169.xxx, the address is self assigned and the router hasn't connected to to the Internet.)

3rd Gen Ipod Touch WiFi problems

my brother has a 1st gen ipod and its wifi is working fine downstairs in our house, my new 3rd gen will not recieve a signal in the exact same place, any ideas?

It is frequently a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
I would also try placing the iPod in a bag of uncooked rice for a couple of days to ensure the iPod is dry.

IPhone 4S Wifi Problem (Please Help !!)

The WiFi on my iPhone 4S has been working perfectly fine until today. It is now greyed out and dim as if disabled, so I can't even access it anymore.
I have tried resetting network settings, toggling cellular data and airplane mode, hard reset, and restoring my phone, but it unfortunately does not do the trick.
Any help and thoughts would be very appreciated. Thanks!

tried it mate, now the thing is, my wifi button is not grayed but it can not find the wifi signal ! sometimes it can, and then it looses the signal ! so in my opinion, there should be some solution or patch for it coz if it has a hardware issue then it stays as grayed but now it's not ! so yea waiting to have some solution for it. At first I thought it was my battery and now I dont know? I have had it since Dec 10, 2010. I can get the opening screen and the apple comes up on the screen and then it jus shuts off. Its a 32gb 3rd generation. I would really appreciate it if someone could help:)
