My ipod touch is stuck on the apple logo screen. I have restored the software several times. I can load and off load media files using itunes. Sometimes the little spinning waiting thing does below the silver logo. But it never leaves the screen.

i had the same problem what you need to do is turn it on (apple logo will show)connect it via usb to the computer and hold the power button and the home botton until thge itunes logo appear on ipod open itunes (computer)and click on the ipod and click restore a software will download and install on your ipod then it should work.

IPod Touch 4G Stuck On Apple Logo Screen

So I just recently jail broke my iPod touch 4G and was using iFile to delete some default apps and stuff that was taking up space on my device. I only need to use the Music app, so all of the other default apps can be erased. I must have accidentally deleted something in regards to the music app because I am not able to transfer music onto the device using iTunes. I turned my iPod off then and turned it back on and this is where the major problem came in. It's stuck on the Apple Logo screen and will not boot back up or anything. I have tried putting it in DFU mode and doing every kind of reset or restore and none of that has worked. Now it doesn't even show up in iTunes. Unfortunately I don't remember every thing I deleted when using iFile, so I cannot provide much information regarding that. My iPod has worked perfectly fine until I jail broke it, which I probably shouldn't have even done but none the less if someone has any possible genius solution to my problem, I would appreciate you leaving a comment. Ipod won't sync with itunes, wiped itself, won't leave apple logo screen

I think the problem showed up after I plugged my ipod classic into a Belkin (I think) ipod speaker dock. The next time I plugged it into my computer, it wouldn't sync with itunes. When there's no ipod plugged into the computer, itunes opens fine, but when I plug my ipod in, itunes will open then freeze. Unplugging my ipod makes itunes go back to normal, but with an error message that I can't sync my ipod. After going through that a few times this morning, I tried doing the middle button+menu reset, which left it stuck at the apple logo for around 15 minutes. It eventually took me to the language select screen, where I saw that all my songs and podcasts had been wiped from the drive. However, when I hover over the "settings" menu option, it says I only have 40 gigs free, which is the amount I had when I still had all my data on the ipod. I've also tried plugging it into my computer and formatting it through windows, but that doesn't work either. Do I have any options here? Thanks in advance

Tried most of these (including swapping out cords in dfferent ports) with no luck. I tried to restore it as well but it won't let me do that either. The hard drive is working to the point where the ipod works normally with the exception of the syncing issue. I have also run the diagnostic and everyting is fine until the last one, the device sync test. It is able to see the ipod earlier in the diagnostics.

Connect your iTouch to your PC then open iTunes, if iTunes does not recognize your device, try to hold the SLEEP Button and the HOME button at the same time (iPod Reset) for a couple of seconds until the "Charging Tone sounds, now you should be seeing your device name in the iTunes " Device List". If you do, just click RESTORE and iTunes will automatically restore your iTouch to original set-up and download the iOS6 update.

-I've already replaced my old 60 GB Ipod in exchange for an 80GB, I bring it home, sync it up with Itunes v7.02 and everything works fine for a while. Not even 24 hours later I go down into my artist/song directory to play a song, and it freezes again. I do the menu center key soft reboot a few times to bypass it and it works for awhile. I've tried looking for current updates for software on it, Restoring it, Resyncing and now It gets to the point everytime I unplug the ipod from charging I get back to the menu and try to play a song or video and it does nothing, it freezes everytime.
There has to be an explanation as to why my first one did it and why my new 80GB is doing it.
I've already ran a diagnosis on all the files in the ipod all of them come back clean.

My ipod is having a similar problem. The black apple logo has been the only thing I see on my ipod. I went a step farther and held the select and play/pause button to get it into disk mode. Once I am here I cannot proceed. I do not have computer that I hook it up to and have transferred the desired songs from an ex-girlfriends computer which I do not have access. What can I do once I have it in disk mode if I do not have a computer available?

Go to ITunes
Click on your Device
Click on Summary tab
Click on Restore

Ipod touch 5thgen stuck on Apple logo after updating to IOS 6.1

I updated my ipod touch to the latest version 6.1 and after updating it restarted and was frozen at the apple logo screen since Monday. I tried calling Apple Support and they went through the steps of getting into recovery mode as well as trying to reboot my ipod touch but I first had to update & restore first through iTunes. I wasn't able to update because my connection kept timing out so I decided to download the ipsw file from this website: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
After waiting a whole day for the download(because my internet connection is really slow), iTunes said that the ipod could not be restored because firmware was not compatible. I tried both version 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 and both came with that error notice. I don't know what to do now and I really need some help! I've tried holding the home+lock key many times and went through the whole procedure but nothign seems to work. It already says that my ipod updated to 6.1 but its just stuck at the apple logo. Help me Please!!!

For some reason, every time I update my Ipod touch it has restarting issues. I got it late December early January, so it's still new. The first time I updated it, it told me I needed to connect to Itunes and that it was in recovery mode and long story short I had to sync it from a computer that was not my own and it took two days for me to get it back up and running. This time, it's stuck on the apple logo screen. I tried turning it off by holding the lock and home button, but it just turned right back on. So then I was hoping that I could plug it into the computer and start it on recovery mode, but it doesn't even show up as being plugged into my computer. So now i'm lost at what to do.

I have an issue with my ipod touch, it wont start nor does itunes recognize it to allow me to restore. I pressed the sleep and home button and get the Apple logo, but nothging after that. When I turned on my iPod Touch, I got the frozen Apple logo. I tried connecting to my computer by USB but iTunes would not recognize my iTouch. Holding down the Sleep+Home buttons only restarted back to the frozen Apple logo screen again. where you hold down both Sleep+Home, then let go of Sleep while still holding down Home. After a couple of tries, iTunes is now attempting to restore my iTouch.

Make sure you are holding power/home button for at least 15-sec. If that does not work, let the unit go dead. Then recharge it and retroubleshoot it.

I have found an issue where removing an application from the Ipod Touch which uses the Apple Ipod Settings GUI (The Icon with the picture of the gears) could cause your ipod to stick at the Apple Logo and force you to do a restore.
I had an application which I removed and noticed that I could no longer get fully into the Apple Settings GUI. It would freeze (it would never completely draw all the entries for the settings interface) for about 30 seconds and then take me back to the main interface. I thought I should restart the Ipod Touch and maybe that would clear up the issue. WRONG! I had to do a full restore in order to get back where I was. That took 6 hours.
Once I was back this time I tried to remove that application again and noticed the same issue. I opened the App Store on the Ipod Touch and searched for the application. I re-downloaded it and it installed. I was able to get back into settings and also restart with no issues.
In short, if you remove an application that has hooks into the Apple Settings interface. Always go into the settings after to verify you can still access it. If not reinstall the application and verify it works. Then report it to the developer.
I did contact the developer of the software and he said he would submit a bug report to Apple on this. I do not need to specify the dev at this time. I will just say be careful before you restart.
