IPod Touch won't let me put anything on it

I recently restored my iPod touch because it was having probles and now I am starting new with it. It syncs, but when I try to put music on it tells me my files are corrupt (which they aren't) then it says: Attempting to copy to the disk 'My iPod' failed. An error occurred while reading from the device." It says that every time I try to put more than one song on it.
And when I try with apps it says: "The app was not installed on the iPod because it is not signed." What does that mean? Please help.

Have you tried the suggestions here:

  • HELP?! My iPod touch won't let me type anything!

I just got my ipod touch and finished setting it up and putting all my music on it. I was trying to get on the internet but I have to put in a password for my internet connection. Whenever the keyboard comes up on my iPod it won't let me type anything. It just pops up for a minute and then dissapears! *What's going on??* Can anyone help!

    Where are you physically located?
What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store?

  • My brand new ipod touch won't let me download apps.

My brand new ipod touch won't let me download apps.  I put in my password and then get a screen that says "Download Now".  I can't press the okay button to start the download.  What should I do?  All of the other buttons on the screen work, so I don't think it is broken.

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.

  • My iPod touch won't let me download any apps. .

My iPod touch won't let me download any apps. Any time I try it sends me to a billing screen. I enter my information and it wnt accept it. Been doing it for over a month. Even with free apps. Very frustrating please help

It appears that there is something incorrect with your billing information. You need to correct it.  For a standard account you need a valid payment method even for free apps.  You can however create a new account that is only good for apps by:
Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card

I have an ipod touch and I can't put anything on the events there is no + sign in the corner like my sons ipod.

I'm guessing you are referencing the Calendar app.
    Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.

  • IPod Touch won't let me transfer songs from iTunes; songs are grey

I got a new iPod touch about a month ago and transferred my entire library (about 6000 songs) just fine. Now, though, I find out that not all songs transferred (initially, I selected my entire library and dragged the songs over...i don't want to auto-sync my library, preferring to manage my library manually). So now, iTunes won't let me drag any songs over, and when I highlight my iPod in the menu, all my songs are grey and I can't select them to edit the information or anything.
Any ideas? thanks, in advance, for your help.

Did you check if the restrictions for iTunes are activated in Settings/General/Restrictions?

  • My Ipod Touch won't let me download apps or log in

I just got it and it won't let me download apps. I even made another ID. It keeps saying "Password or Apple ID is incorrect" or it will say "cannot connect to ITunes" and if it doesn't say either one of these it says "An Unknown Error occured" I restored it twice. Changed my password like 5 times (I know I'm entering it right). My iTunes is up to date. and it's iPod Touch 4g. Any help??
when I made another ID it says

  • My 4th generation iPod Touch won't let me get on to the App Store. When I log on to iTunes, an alert pops up that says the certificate for the server is invalid, and that it may be a server pretending to be iTunes. What should I do?

My iPod won't let me on to the App Store, and whenever I go on to ITunes, an alert pops up that the certificate for the server is invalid, and that I may be connecting to a server that is only pretending to be iTunes.apple.com and my personal info may be at risk. I downloaded an emulator yesterday from coolroms.com but deleted the app this afternoon. I cleared my safari search data, my cookies and data, and web inspector, which still didn't work. I then proceeded to reset my iPod and then download the newest version of IOS 6.1.5 but yet still am having problems. Also to the App Store and iTunes, several other apps aren't working. Any help here?

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

  • IPod touch won't let me share my computer music library

I have a new iPod touch 5th generation running IOS 7. I've set up my computer to allow home sharing, but the iPod won't connect to it using wifi. I have an Apple TV, and that will connect to my computer iTunes library with no problems. What am I doing wrong?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • Ipod touch won't restart after putting it in standby

    Hi,
After putting my ipod touch on standby for a few hours, it doesn't start up again until I connect it to my computer via USB. The battery's always fully charged but it still doesn't restart from standby. Any idea what to do?

Same problem here and there are also other topics covering this.
I have an "end of September" very first version of the 16 GB iPod Touch and after 1.1.2 update this problem appeared. Unfortunately 1.1.3 does not fix this.
If the iPod "goes to sleep" and you leave it in this state for some of time, it just freezes/locks up and the only way to recover it is either to press Home + Sleep buttons (as AAPL points out) or connect it to your computer via USB cable.
Someone suggested to totally restore the iPod (with iTunes) WITHOUT importing the last backup (that is select "New iPod" after restore), but it does not work.
By the way, it seems to work for about a day, but then the problem reappears. I have tried several times the complete restore + new iPod, but no luck!
The only change (after the last restore) is that now, instead of totally locking up (black screen), sometimes the iPod reboots (otherwise it locks up), though it is expected to simply wake up from sleep.
From other topics, I learned that Apple is far from acknowledge the problem and if you send the device to Service, they will return it as "no problems found".
I suspect this issue involves the first version of iPod Touch only and has something to do with power management and battery.
Let's only hope that Apple will set up a repair program for us...
The only workaround I found is to shut down the iPod Touch if I plan not to use in the next 10 minutes...
... quite annoying, but I guess this is safer than waiting for it to freeze.
    Cheers!

    Hi, CrystalLuna.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It would need a little clarification on this issue to provide a better answer.  However, if your device will not turn on or is unresponsive, take a look at the troubleshooting steps in the article below.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on
If your device will power on but the display is blank, Screen Curtain may be enabled.  Take a look at the steps in the article below to disable this feature.
Turn the screen curtain on or off. Triple-tap with three fingers. When the screen curtain is on, the screen contents are active even though the display is turned off.
