IPod touch won't mount or sync with iTunes?

ok here's my problem, 2 days ago i bought an 8gb iPod touch.
The first time i plugged it into my computer it mounted to iTunes and synced with iTunes seamlessly and quick.
Now when i plug it in, it will not even show up in iTunes.
So far i've tried
-restarting my iPod Touch
-deleting itunes then re-installing iTunes
-restoring factory setting on iPod touch
-turning the ipod off, then once i open itunes, turning it on
nothing happens, itunes works fine, but my iPod just will not sync or mount to iTunes 8
please! someone help me!

ok i figured it out.. not what was wrong but what to do.. you have to restore your system without having the iPod connect of course.. then uninstall itunes and quicktime then delete every trace of them from your computer. (once you reinstall iTunes you will get back everything you had) then once you restart your computer reinstall itunes and restart your computer again. now plug ur iPod Touch in the computer and it will work then.
same thing happened to mine.. it took a while to figure it out but i got it...
you have to uninstall them then delete it from program files... now it works perfectly

  • IPod Touch 2nd gen no longer syncs with itunes?

I just recently upgraded to Snow Leopard.
Now my ipod touch won't sync to itunes. It syncs with iphoto, although I can't put new albums on it. It doesn't allow me to 'sync ipod' in the itunes menu. And it doesn't automatically sync like it used to. I can't even update my ipod to a newer version, because it won't sync.
I also don't know if I can update to the newer 5.0 system, as this is an older ipod touch. (2nd generation)
Please help. Do I have to reinstall itunes, etc. to get this to work??

  • Ipod Touch 4g will no longer sync with iTunes - help!!!

I have an iPod Touch 4 and am using the latest version of iTunes 11.0.2.26 but can no longer get my ipod to sync with itunes.  When I click on Sync I get the message 'waiting for changes to be applied' then 'finished' but it does not sync.  I have completely restored my ipod and have uninstalled iTunes, Apple Update, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support before reinstalling iTunes.  All my music in iTunes is from my own library rather than purchased from iTunes.  It all used to work fine and I feel I've exhausted all my knowledge in fixing this and need some assistance.  Can anyone help?

Seems like you've tried the most important steps in troubleshooting, so that's good.
What I'm wondering is: when you deinstalled iTunes and all those other things, did you do it in a specific order, according to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for windows Vista/windows 7 or http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  for windows XP  ? I don't see Apple Application Support in the list of components you deleted. I would recommend removing everything again in the specific order using the article you need and trying again to sync.
Also: try creating another user account on your computer and syncing again, because sometimes software issues are user-wide.
hope this helps, keep me posted

  • IPod touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes, but shows up in Windows 7 64bit(Acer Aspire laptop)

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it.  I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
    -Tyler

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

  • My brand new iPod Touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes on my Windows Vista computer!  Please help!

I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store.  I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes.  Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?

  • My ipod touch does not want to sync with itunes

My ipod touch ( 4 th IOS 5 firmware 5.0.1  8gb ) does not want to sync with itunes on my computer while on another computer be synchronized
    HELP please !

    What?
What do yo mean it does not want to sync?
Are you trying to say it does sync with one computer but not with another????? If so, this is by design. All iDevices are designed to sync with one and only one computer.

  • Anyone know why my Ipod Touch won't wi-fi sync with my win 7 PC unless it is usb connected to it?

According to latest Apple IOS release 5.1.1 I can wi-fi sync my IPod to ANY networked PC hosting its ITunes as long as the IPod is connected to a power source and its wi-fi is enabled.  Well...doesn't work ("Sync Now" button is not enabled). It IS however enabled if I connect IPod to the windows 7 pc via usb cable. Of course, this option is then superflous as I am capable of syncing the device via the faster USB connection instead.  Isn't it supposed to work if the ipod is connected to a power outlet, or my Macbook Pro and the Windows 7 PC and Itunes are running and on network?  What's the point of the feature otherwise?
Reason I would ilke to do this is that my music library is housed on Windows 7 PC (it has more storage space then my MacBook Pro), but I often recharge it connected to my MacBook Pro  This is a nice to have, but hardly necessary feature, but  if someone has a solution I would love to know about it.
    Possible error on my part:
I enabled this feature while IPod was not connected to any device.  (later read that one should enable the feature while iPod connected to PC).  The "sync now" button is not enabled UNLESS I connect the ipod to the Windows 7 pc by usb cable.  THEN the "sync now" is enabled.  What do i do to correct?

I synced iPod touch to a desktop wirelessly connected to a router.
Searched the forum and found 3 useful suggestions.
    1.  check the firewall log to ensure there was an exception allowing applemobiledevice.exe to clear the firewall, if it is blocked.
    2.  Verified the desktop was accessible via wi-fi.
    3.  Connected iPod to the desktop using the usb cable,
    ran iTunes,
clicked the iPod device icon to open the Sync window,
    clicked the SUMMARY tab and
scrolled down to the checkboxes.  Checked the box for "wi-fi sync".
Then SYNCED the iPod via the cable.
Then disconnected the iPod from the cable without clicking the EJECT icon.  This leaves an established sync connection on iTunes.
Quit iTunes, then reloaded it to ensure the iPod device icon still appears under DEVICEs in iTunes.
I wonder if you are having problems with the wireless transmitter?  I've had them burn out in the past.  Replaced a router that died, and had a dell laptop whose wi-fi xmit/receiver died.
Also had to re create the wireless network setup on the desktop.  Not sure why but twice have had to recreate it when it quit working.
I sympathize.  it's a pain in the butt dealng with networks.

  • HT1923 My iPod touch 2nd gen couldn't sync with itunes an unknown error occured then I tried shutting it off and now it won't turn on or off

I have an iPod touch 2nd gen When I plug it into the computer it says iPod can not sync because of an uniknown Error 0XE8000065. I tried turning it off but it seems frozen on a black screen. Now it won't turn on or off.

Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release.

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation unable to sync with iTunes v.12

    To whom this may concern,
I am struggling to sync an iPod 4G with IOS 6.1.6 with the latest version of iTunes 12  installed on my computer.
Essentially the problem was initially was that the device was recognized and I was able to access the summary. It came up saying that it was overcapacity to sync anything new onto the device.  I have used the forums to find a solution to no avail. (I was unable to remove anything from the Ipod as the message did not change)
I tried to restore the Ipod which has not worked, as the device is no longer recognised on Itunes and comes up on Windows 7 as 'Apple Ipod' as opposed to 'so and so's iPod''.
I am wondering if manually resetting the Ipod from the Ipod itself would help so that it would be recognised on the Itunes (which I have reinstalled twice, thiking that was the problem).
I use windows 7 and have Itunes 12. It has become incredibly annoying and would like this problem fixed.

Try DFU mode and then restore via iTunes

  • Ipod touch 3rd generation does not sync with itunes 12

I upgraded iTunes to iTunes 12 and now my 3rd generation 64GB iPod Touch does not sync but 8 songs, even though the entire library is checked.  I had removed all songs to reorganize the iPod but afterwards I was no longer able to re-sync the iPod Touch.  A restore from previous was pointless because all the songs had already been removed.  I ended up restoring the iPod Touch to factory settings and I still cannot sync any songs.

Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes on the computer?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Can you sync apps or photos to the iPod?

  • Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. Not Syncing With Itunes or Windows.

I have an Ipod Touch - 2nd Generation 16GB iPod. It has IOS 4.2.1 installed on it.
My Ipod Touch is still functioning but will not let me connect it with my computer so the ipod is not shown or iTunes or Windows. It was last working on the 19th of January using Itunes 10. I then updated to iTunes 11 and have only attempted to reconnect my ipod today (29/01/13) to no avail.
I have attempted to connect my ipod touch with 3 different cables, none of which have worked despite all of these working when I attempted to charge the iPod using an external charger. The Ipod has worked as normally, allowing me to utilize all the available features. I have attempted to resolve this problem myself and have attempted the use of differ cables, as described above. I have also tried to restore the Ipod and have turned the device on and off, numerous times. Furthermore, I have also turned off the Apple Mobile Device and have turned it back on but it has not rectified the problem.
Thank you for your help in advance.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • My iPod Touch and iPad will not sync with iTunes, Windows crashes

I have done the latest upgrade on software for itunes, upgraded the software on both my ipod touch and ipad and now itunes will not sync.  As soon as it starts the syncing process I get a pop up window (I'm on Windows XP) that says that there's an error and itunes has to shut down.  I ran the diagnostics test and it says there's no error.  Not sure what to do now.

  • Ipod Touch 4th Gen will not sync with Itunes 11.1

I upgraded my Itunes to the latest version, now I can't get Ipod touches to sync that are 4th gen. Any help?

I FINALLY got it to sync. I had to unplug and restart my computer 3x's then it worked and went like a charm. It was getting to step 2 of 5 in the sync then just freezing. I let it run for 15+ hours the first day.
I do have to ask though since I have a knowledgable person:
My son's Ipod touch broke so I bought a refurbished one. How can I change the ID on Itunes or his touch to reflect his Ipod?
