Ipod touch won't sync with itunes, only iphoto after snow leopard update upgrade
Have just put snow leopard onto my mac book 4.1. Can't get my ipod touch 5.1.1 to sync with itunes. It syncs with iphoto every time, but no device comes up in itunes or in finder. I have the latest software updates on both mac & touch. Any ideas?

I've never tried to use ical before, so I never synced it with my ipod touch. However, recently I created a calendar on ical and so I checked the "sync ical calendars" and "all calendars" options. Itunes says that it has been "syncing calendars" with my ipod for four hours now! What in the world is it doing? You can't seriously tell me that it takes four hours to sync my calendar to my ipod--it takes less than two hours to restore!
In addition, my ipod, which always used to sync my iphoto photo albums with no problem, now claims it can't find any albums in iphoto. But when I open iphoto, I can see all of my albums--nothing has changed. If anyone else has had these problems or has a clue as to what is going on, please reply!I have this problem too, but on an iPhone 3g rather than a Touch. I basically cannot sync calendars at all so any calendar additions i need on my mac i just have to enter manually. It's been like this since August despite many attempt to do a restore and fix it. I even tried clearing out all my calendars thinking that perhaps there were too many entries. Anyone have any ideas?

I got a new iPod Touch yesterday after my old iPod Video died. Brought it home, connected it and all seemed fine until iTunes (that had worked flawlessly for years) just stopped (app stops responding).
I can kill the app and restart and it just starts over again, but never gets all the way thru sync.
I looked for a newer version but says I've got the latest.
Any suggestions? Don't suppose I can sync via WiFi?

Occasionally your iPhone or iPod touch starts syncing when you connected it to your Mac only to drop out of the sync process. Even worse, once the cycle stops, it continues every time you plug your handheld in. This fix is fairly easy, but you won't find it in iTunes. You'll know know if you are suffering from this little headache because your iPhone or iPod touch will begin the sync process, but stops unexpectedly. iTunes will display a dialog warning you that your handheld stopped communicating and the sync process was cancelled. Here's how to break the cycle so and sync as normal again:
Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your Mac/Pc
After the sync process fails, launch iSync. You can find it in your Applications folder.
Select iSync > Preferences.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
iSync will display a dialog explaining what happens when you reset the sync history. Go ahead and click the second Reset Sync History button.
Quit iSync.
Now you should be able to sync your iPhone or iPod touch again without any hassles. Since your sync history has been reset, your first post-rest sync may take longer than you expect. Depending on how much information is stored on your handheld, that could be a few extra seconds or several minutes.

windows recognizes it- but itunes says "unknown error (0xE8000065)" everytime it's plugged into the USB. I seriously can't figure this one out.

Have you tried trashing your iPod's Photo cache? See this article for information on where to find your iPod's Photo cache.

Why won't it sync? Are you getting any sort of error message during the sync process? If so what is the exact wording of that error message? If this the computer you normally sync the iPod with?

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.

Is your problem that you do not see your iPod in iTunes? If that is the case try these:

Also, make sure you update to the latest iTunes and Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard is now up to 10.6.5 and you said you only have 10.6.3. -

This iPod Touch used to sync to iTunes just fine and dandy. Now it won't. I'm seeing that *now* in order to sync I have to upgrade (i.e. get a new mac) to v10.5?

Both used to sync fine and now they don't. Did Apple pull a fast one on me?But my point is that one day it worked fine, and now it doesn't. Why would it stop working, if it once was supported? Did Apple push an update to my iPod which made it not supported by my machine? If so, that's pretty low.
If I buy a device and it works fine with my mac, it should stay working fine with my mac. -

Syncing on a touch is iTunes -> iPod, not the other way around. If you have a large library on your iPod that doesn't exist anywhere else (very bad practice) and need to move things to iTunes, you have two choices:
1. Purchased items can be transferred by selecting, in iTunes, File > Transfer my purchases
2. Music you have added from CDs you ripped yourself: Google "Pod to PC" for a freeware program that can do this for you.
As to your purchased shows, you most likely downloaded them in the wrong format. iTunes lists programs in HD (for the Apple TV) and regular definition for the iPod. Just go back and download the correct version. -

I have an iPod Touch, 5th generation. After updating to iOS 7.0.4, I am no longer able to sync with iTunes, ver 11.1.3.8. It gets stuck on step 4 of 4, "waiting for changes to be applied". Before the update, there was no problem with syncing. Does anyone have a way to correct this issue? I am using Windows 7. I really haven't liked anything about iOS 7, is there anyway to go back to a previous operating system?

I updated my ipod touch and now the music won't sync to itunes. Itunes recognizes the ipod and even knows which artists I have chosen for it. The apps are all there but not the songs or videos. When I click SYNC it skips the steps that would actually sync the music. I am afraid to reinstall itunes because I don't want to lose my selections. I have a large music library and this ipod touch cannot accomodate the entire library so I had to pick and choose some favorites. I tried restoring the ipod to the backup library and to factory settings. Nothing works. It's driving me nuts. Please help if you can. Thanks!
