IPod touch won't turn on, charge, iTunes doesn't recognize it, and the hard reset doesn't work

My iPod touch 5th gen died so I put in it the charger. Now even the dead battery screen doesn't come on. iTunes will not recognize it, The hard reset won't work, recovery mode doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 3rd generation iPod touch won't turn on, charge, or be recognised by itunes

My 3rd generation ipod touch won't charge or turn on. I keep charging it, but it show the exremely low battery screen. It also flashes the apple logo like it's turning on, but it just stays on that screen or flashes and goes away. It won't connect to itunes. I've tried holding the power button and home button at the same time to get it into recovery mode, but it doesn't work. I don't know what else to do.

  • My 4th gen Ipod Touch won't turn on/charge?

I have the 4th Gen Ipod touch. I was using it after it had been saying 20% battery remaining for awhile. I locked the screen, then I tryed to press the power button again to unlock it but it wouldn't work. I automatically assumed it had died completely so I tried plugging it in to charge. Even after letting it sit for a while it will not charge or turn on. I tried plugging it into a computer to charge as well, but my computer still wouldn't pick up on it. I tried the usual "hold down power button and home button at the same time for a few seconds" thing, but that was useless because my home button barely works. I cannot plug the ipod into a computer to restore it anyway, because my stuff isn't backed up and I am on iOS 4.something (as the original computer i had my iTunes on stopped working, so I havent been able to update it) so I will lose all my photos and music (I didn't purchase all my music from the itunes store). Does anybody have any suggestions? I tried calling Apple but Im out of warranty so they wouldn't help me, and theres only one Apple store in my state (and its nearly 4 hours away) so I'm basically screwed, right?

  • My iPod Touch Won't Turn On, Charge or Enter DFU mode

Hey, one day my iPod just wouldn't charge anymore,I though my charger was the problem so I bought a new one, and it still didin't work so I tried another one and still nothing. When my iPod turned off because of low battery it would not turn on again. Then I thought my battery was the problem so I had it changed at the store and it still didn't work. I tried to enter DFU mode and recover, but it just won't enter DFU mode (and no, I'm sure I'm not doing it wrong, I did it before). I hope this is somehow fixable because people at the store didn't know how to fix it and I don't really have to funds to buy a new one. And also, store I was talking about isn't apple store because we don't have them here in Croatia, so I can't really get a new one for free...

Well... since I have been with it in all services in my area and none of them know how to fix it, I guess I'll just have to buy a new one eventually... thanks anyways for replying...

You can work through the five 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of corrupted software.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity.  A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less.  Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

  • HT201412 My iPod Touch won't turn on...please help?

Hi, my 4th generation iPod touch won't turn on. I lost it for about a year, and I plugged it in and it wouldn't turn on. Please help!
    ~Thanks

Make sure it's fully charged. Hold the Sleep/Wake + Home buttons down (at least 15-seconds) until Apple logo lights up. If that does not work, you may need a new battery.

  • My iPod Touch won't turn on, why?

My iPod touch won't turn on. It all of a sudden turned off and will not come back on no matter what I do. I've tried holding the lock and home button in at the same time, I've tried charging it all day and I've tired pluging it into my MacBook and reseting it but none of that works. Please help, thank you.

  • My ipod touch won't turn on anymore!!!

MY IPOD TOUCH WON'T TURN ON ANYMORE!!
I don't know what happened. but I am beginning to think apple is ripping me and everyone off.
I don't know why I paid about 200-300 dollars for this iPod to be frozen or not turn on anymore!
When I downloaded Currency converter pro, it just froze my ipod.
Either it's that problem, or something is wrong.
I never dropped it in water or anything bad.
    PLEASE HELP.

Have you've tried holding down the power button for several seconds?
If so and you're still getting nothing you may have to do a hard restore.
here's how to do it on Mac OS:
    1. Connect you're iPod to the computer with the sync cable, and open iTunes.
    2. Hold down the power and home buttons for 10seconds, then release the power button (continue holding the home button for about another 6-8 seconds). iTunes should display a message stating that the iPod is in restore mode and needs to be restored before it can be used (or something to that effect).
3.Hitting the restore button will likely give an error message. You'll need to hold down option and click the restore button, which will bring up a file browser. Navigate to *<your user name>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/* and choose iPod2,12.2.1_5H11aRestore.ipsw (or similar ipsw file depending on your ipod, or iphone, generally choose the newest one) and click open.
    4. Wait for it to restore, when that's finished you should be able to further restore it using the backup that was generated when you last synced it.
I have never done this on windoze, but I imagine it's quite similar, just not sure where you'd find the ipsw file.
