Power button on ipod touch won't work?
The Power button on my ipod touch won't work at all, any suggestions?
Okay it says here https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do that your warranty has expired, my recomendation is to either clean it out with a needle, or just keep pushing it hoping it will un-stick.
hope this helped -

Can you help me?
ThanksIf you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

My ipod touch is not working at all pls HELP, my ipod touch is not working at all pls HELP
My iPod touch is not working at all,i did everything i could and still it doesnt work,i live in the philippines my idea of solving this problem is to send it back at Apple California we do have service centre here but i dont trust them,i dont know what to do,I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP
Quite possibly. It wouldn't hurt to try another one if at all possible. If you have to, borrow one from a friend. It could also be due to debris in the docking port of your iPod. Take a look on the inside of the port and make sure there is no lint or anything like that. Also look for broken pins as they would definitely cause connection issues as well.

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?
No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.
You can get 10.6.8 here:

Ipod touch won't charge at all
iPod touch won't charge at all - think it's the port on the ipod itself not the charging cord - any suggestions?
- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Try another cable
- Try another charging source
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.

Installed latest update, and now ipod touch won't work
Hello, I clicked on the download and install option for the latest update to my ipod touch. I think it was 2.2.1, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, now I have to hold the power button down several seconds, and I see the apple logo, and then the itunes icon with the USB plug which indicates I need to connect to itunes. When I plug it in to the pc, I get prompted that I have installed new hardware and need to install the device drivers. It is not recognized by itunes or my pc. Please help!!
Hello, all, my ipod touch is now working. Here's what happened...I called the tech support line and started going through the automated stuff. It started me with the reset which I had done numerous time. It then mentioned trying a different USB port. I figured it was a waste of time, but then I decided what the heck, so I tried the other usb port on the front of my pc. When I did this, it recognized the ipod in ituned and gave me a mssg that it needed to be restored. I clicked on the restore link, and minutes later it gave me an error message on the restore, and the ipod showed the apple on the sreen instead of the itunes logo with the usb cord. I then tried it back in the original usb port, and received the same windows prompt to try to install drivers that I had been getting all along. I put it back in the second USB port, and got the restore message again with it being recognized in itunes. This time it successfully completed the restore. I know it sounds simple, but if you have not tried a different USB port, be sure you do. Maybe the download jacked up my USB port? Anyway, I'm working again with the 2.2.1 download. Good luck to all!!

I upgraded my os of itunes and now my ipod touch won't work
I upgraded the itunes to the newest os 5.0 and now my ipod touch won't register or even turn on, I get the initial screen that shows you to plug it in to the computer and then nothing happens
i have the same problem. I tried to upgrade this morning to iOS 5.0.1 and now my ipod touch is completely frozen. All I get is a black screen with the Apple logo and an empty download bar. I'm not even able to turn off the ipod and iTunes doesn't detect it anymore. Any suggestion except returning the ipod to Apple Store?

I previously posted about an error that occurred when I updated my daughter's ipod touch, 1st generation to 2.1. Here is the post:
Error 0xe8000001: My daughter recently purchased an 8G refurbished ipod touch. Prior to upgrading to 2.1, her ipod connected just fine no problems. Because she wanted games, we went ahead and purchased the update. Now when trying to connect to itunes we get "itunes is unable to connect to ipod" error oxe8000001. I tried some of the fixes recommended, but nothing seems to fix it. Her ipod will connect just fine to my macbook, but the update was not done on my laptop either. Any suggestions?
Now my 32G ipod touch, 2nd generation cannot be connected to iTunes on our desktop computer as well. Both ipods connect to my macbook.
Here is what I have tried:
Reinstalling iTUnes. Current version is 8.0.1
Force quitting iTunes helper
Tried USB port on back of computer
Any suggestions? There are quite a few songs on our desktop I want to add.
Thanks!i have the same problem.

Ipod touch won't work after installing a new app.
Hi!
Last night, I decided to install a new "Alarm clock," app and test it out by setting it to ring a minute later- what a BIG mistake, because during the time it was supposed to ring, it made my Ipod touch completely crash instead. For the past few hours all it's been doing is flashing back and forth between my homelock screen (with the "slide to unlock," bar at the bottom) and the Apple logo, with the round 'processing' image infront of it.
I have tried many different things to get it out of this funk but nothing has worked! I tried resetting the Ipod by holding down the menu and power button, the screen went black temporarily, didn't show the "slide to power off" bar and then just reloaded with the same two flashing images. I tried restoring it, but it wouldn't restore, until I did a special reboot that I read about via online boards- where you have to hold the power + menu buttons for 10 seconds, then release the power button whilst holding just the menu button for 10 seconds- but, whilst the Ipod did go through the whole restoring process thereafter, it didn't manage to sync up.
Now, not only does my ipod STILL flash back and forth between those two images. I keep getting an error message of (0xE80000001)! I used a different cable to try and sync up, but the blasted thing still won't stop flashing back and forth between those two images, and the ipod is not being recognised by itunes so the ipod keeps beeping, in and out of itunes and won't sync!
My ipod isn't 'jailbroken,' I haven't touched it's software or altered it in any way, to how it was sold to me. I would've liked to have brought it back the the Apple store to be looked at, but I don't think they'll help me because the top left hand corner of my Ipod is completely missing after my niece dropped it a few months ago- the Ipod still worked (up until I installed the **** alarm app) perfectly well until now!
Also, I have a mac, so any tips on how to access/help/fix this problem would have to have instructions for a Mac OS not Windows please!
Many thanks!I keep getting an error message of (0xE80000001)!

Ipod classic won't work at all. Help!
Today, my ipod has stopped working even after being able to use it earlier today. It will turn on only when connected to the wall charger (that is plugged in to an outlet) and won't connect to my mac. It flashes the apple symbol start up screen. I can only reset it when it's plugged into the charger and I can put it mannually into disk mode at that time too, but otherwise it won't work. Any help?
Ok, I ran into this same issue of a brand new iPod Classic resetting itself continuously about once every 30 seconds, and you could hear the hard clicking sound, with each reset cycle. I had to do the following to get it to work ok.
10 Simple Steps To Fix Your iPod That Is Stuck In A Continuous Reset Loop:
1) While the iPod was resetting itself over and over (continuously resetting itself), press the Play/Pause button and the center select button simultaneously, for about 5 seconds, and it will display that it is now in disk mode.
2) Start up iTunes on your computer and then connect the iPod to your computer with the USB cable.
3) Click on the iPod in the left pane, select "Restore" to restore it to its original blank state. Follow the prompts to continue.
4) When the computer completes the Restore update, and it displays a message saying that the iPod will disappear and reappear in iTunes in a minute, immediately disconnect the iPod (unplug it from your USB cable).
5) On the iPod, you should see the main menu, in a few seconds. Pick a couple of settings to update for example the English language, and Eastern Time Zone (New York or Washington, DC), etc.
6) Press and hold the Play/Pause button to power the iPod off.
7) Re-connect the iPod to your comptuer with the USB cable.
8) Start syncing using iTunes, as normal.
9) All should be well.
10) Remember to always click on Eject in iTunes, and waiting for visual confirmation, before disconnecting the iPod.
The End. Whew! -
IPod Photo won't work at all...
my iPod Photo used to work just fine for over 6 months now... but suddenly it went dead.
I though that the battery needed to be charged, i plugged it in my powerbook but it wasn't recognized by the computer and it did not start charging. i plugged it in through power adapter and it won't charge again.
I tried to reset my ipod but nothing happens.
I can't restore or update the software, because my computer doesn't recognize ipod at all.
any suggestions?
I would really appreciate any...Have you tried plugging it into the charger and leaving it overnight? I've read that if the battery is dead, this will happen. You won't see anything until the battery is sufficiently charged. This happened to mine once. My screen stayed off until the Ipod was sufficiently charged and then the screen came back on with a low battery level. Then, I left it on the charger overnight and it was okay.

I had an iPod 5G before and something happened to it and it just wouldn't work, and Apple replaced the iPod. This was back in 2013, I think.
I was charging my iPod this morning- the charger is a little broken (the white plastic covering has come off a tiny bit at the top but the wiring is fine and it's worked fine for the last few days, and I was going to buy a new one tomorrow.) It was charging fine, then suddenly it went black and the 'Plug your charger in' sign came up. I removed the charger, then re-plugged it in. It said it was charging.
10 minutes later, I went to see how it was getting on. Nothing. Not even the 'Charging' symbol. It's just a black screen. I've tried holding in the buttons together and separate but no response.
I had not yet updated to iOS 8 because it had cleared my friends iPods, and I was in the process of backing all my photos and videos up. However, my friend has not updated either and is experiencing no problems.
My friend has said I can use her charger tomorrow and see if that makes it work, but I am worried since nothing is coming up on the screen at all.
Has anyone experienced something similar?Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
Iphone 5 lightning port charging problem - SOLUTION!
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
