IPod touch wont play apps

Hey I just put some apps onto my iPod touch from the app store on my touch, and when I try to play them it loads up what looks like the first page of the app, then just jumps back to my home page. What do I do?

- typoHi,
1. Try a Reset, hold both buttons down for about ten seconds, ignore the "Slide to turn off" and only let go when the Apple logo pops up in the middle of the screen. Wait a minute or two and your Touch will restart.
Try the App.
2. Remove the App by unchecking, resynch. Then reinstall.
Try App.
3. As 2 but redownload the App from Appstore.
Try App again.
Come back if no go.

My ipod touch wont play music through the headphones or docking station, it only plays music through the actual iPod and it isnt found when i connect to itunes, help!

    - Try here for getting iTunes to see the iPOd:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - Try resetting for the other problem:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The try restoring, first from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • HT1665 I have recently purchased a sony docking station and my ipod touch wont play through speakers.  does anyone know why

I cant get my ipod touch to play through a docking station I have recently purchased.  A second ipod touch works fine.  Can anyone tell me why it wont play through speakers?
    thanks

What model iPod and iOS works and which does not?
Sometimes a 4G iPod will not fully sead in the dock because its case configuration is different that previous models.
Also, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility.
Have you checked the dock manufactuer's support stie for compatibility?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod touch wont play music

Ipod touch was playing music and now I try to select a song to play and it does not play but blinks and takes me back to the playlist. It happens to every song I select. I have already tried to power it off and power back on it does not work still

Perhaps [iPod does not play content purchased from the iTunes Store|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1510] or [Troubleshooting songs that skip on iPod|http://support.apple.com/kb/TA26488?viewlocale=en_US] will help.
    Good luck!

  • IPod touch wont update apps but it will install new ones?

My iPod touch 4th with ios 6.1.6 wont update apps, but i can install a new one.
I go to the app store, updates, they show up i can hit update all or do them separately doesn't matter.
Click on update it will switch to installing and ask for my password. Enter it and the installing will change back to update and do nothing.
I have 47GB of space and no more later versions of ios to upgrade to. This one particular app upgrade only requires ios 4. something.
With all this i am still able to install a new app and make purchases.
    Any Advise

Go to the App Store and look at the requirements for the update. The update may require iOS 7 or higher. Sometimes updates get coded incorrectly and thus the iPod says an update is applicable when it really is not.

  • My ipod touch wont play through my docking station

hiya i have an ipod touch. aout a week ago it stopped working with my docking station. it wont play through the docking station speakers. ive tried two other ipods on the station and they work fine so its clearly a problem with my ipod. the ipod registers that its plugged into a charging source and starts playing music when its plugged in but through its own speakers rather then the docking station. i've tried doing a full factory reset and that didnt work. does anybody have any suggestions?

    - Inspect the dock connector for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • Ipod touch wont play music and youtube

i have a second generation ipod touch. I cant watch youtube videos, movies, and play music. It is updated and i restored it. I redownloaded all my data.  After that it still didnt work. Also it shutdowns completely by it selves. It freezes up sometimes. Could it be a virus or could be since i dropped it a few times. All the apps, mail, safari, and everything else works fine.
    Please help:(
    Thank you

If the problem persists after a restore to factory defaults/new iPod then it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 2nd gen. ipod touch wont download apps

Whenever I try to download a game on my ipod touch (its uploaded to the newest version) the icon pops up and the loading bar is on the icon but it never fills up and after a couple seconds it just disappears! I've already turned it off and back on to see if that would work and it didn't! I deleted a lot of pictures and videos and other apps and I have a ton of open memory, but I can't figure out whats wrong! Help! i don't have time to go to the apple store and there isn't one nearby anyway, and the internet connection is good. I've never had this problem before and I have good Wi-fi so I dont know what to think. HELP!

I had this issue before and it was related to security restrictions set on the touch itself
On the touch itself go to: Settings->General->Restrictions
If there is a restrict for Installing Apps the Apps page will be greyed out in itunes

  • Ipod touch wont play through speakers anymore

My Ipod touch played and charged fine on my Philips docking station until this week - now they won'tdo either but other ipods work  fine so it's not the speakers. Any ideas?

    - Make sure the iPod is fully seated in the dock. If you have a 4G those are harder to seat.
    - Look at the dock connector for abnormalities. Compare with the working iPods.
    - Yu can try the folwing to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • IPod Touch wont play songs

OK,I know normally this wouldn't be an issue as I could just remove the songs but my computer was recently wiped of all memory so in order to keep all my current music on my iPod I've been manually syncing it. I added some songs a few days ago and they do not play at all and every time I try to play them the iPod just freezes for about a 45 seconds to a minute. Is there anyway that I could just remove the problem songs without removing everything, seeing as I cant sync my iPod to iTunes?
    Thanks a million.

Seriously? Nobody knows anything about this? It's a really frustrating problem Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • My Ipod touch wont allow me to sync any apps from my itunes library. It also wont allow me to get into itunes from the ipod itself. So i downloaded some apps from the istore on my computer, but it wont allow me to sync them to the ipod. Please Help!?

My Ipod touch wont allow me to get into itunes. So I downloaded some apps through istore onto the itunes on my computer, yet it still wont allow me to sync them to my ipod. It doesnt even give me the option to do so. The only things syncing to my ipod are music and pictures. Can anyone please help me??

You need to restore the iPod on the new computer. You can only sync apps (and some other stuff) from different computers/libraries but you can manage music and some other stuff among different computers/libraries.
You need to restore you iPod and see the following regarding the pairing error message.

Do you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    A 1G can only go to 3.1.3
    A 3G only to 5.1.1

What version of iTunes is on the computer? The latest is 11
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • My ipad touch wont play music, an arrow flashes by the battery icon, which is charged and it just reverts back to the selected song without playing...what can i do to fix this?

    Help!
My ipad touch wont play music, an arrow flashes by the battery icon, which is charged and it just reverts back to the selected song in a second without playing...what can i do to fix this?  thanks, joe

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
