IPod Touch, wont start up or connect to comp

It simply wont start up. i press and hold the menu button and the lock button, the screen goes black for a second then goes back to the apple logo screen with the black background. Nothing happens when i connect it to my mac either. What to do?

Okay..my ipod is really getting on my nerves. At random moments it will cut off and go into recovery mode and says it must be connected to itunes. I have tried hologn down the home button and connecting it but that does not work. And when i hold down the home and off/on button it still doesnt work. When i conenct it to itunes it usually doesn't even show up. And when it does it says that it is being restored, then it says there was an error and it couldnt be restored. I have the lasted ipodtouch update, and i dont know what to do.

    Try:

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Touch wont start or turned on

I received a brand new Ipod touch as a gift. I bought a protective leather cover and screen protector to keep it safe. I used it for a month and one day I place it back after using it and it never started next day. I tried every possible way on the apple site to trouble shoot it, from holding the ON botton and home bottom from 10-60 seconds in the span of a 3 weeks multiple times. I tried to use 5 USB ports and connected directly to a desktop to ensure it is charging properly. I even borrowed another charging/sync cable to check if the one I have is faulty....Bottom line... couldn't turn my Ipod ON. What are my options, my Ipod is brand new and few months old. Please help

It wont even turn on despite all kind of known trouble shooting of holding bottons, charging, swtiching the USB ports and computer and changing the chanrging cable...Every known trouble shoot, I could fine on the apple site.

  • IPod Touch wont start up once ran out of battery

This is the second time this has happened. I was just watching videos on YouTube when the battery ran completely out. The next morning I plugged the iPod Touch 2G into my mac but nothing happened for about 5 mins. until it started to flash the apple logo, and then go back to black, then the apple logo etc.
I managed to force it into restore mode but is my iPod a faulty one? Has this happened to anyone else?

  • My 4th Gen. Ipod touch wont start up.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!1

My ipod touch just turned off one day and it seemed like the battery just died so I thought nothing of it. Later I plugged it in to be charged. Ever since no matter where I plug it in it shows the battery life, which is completely drained, and the plug in lightning bolt sign. Ive tried about 5 different cords plugged into lots of different outlets and computers. I logged into my itunes account and everything i've done hasn't fixed it. Any advice?

  • My ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer

So my ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer! it was working fine then outta no where it wouldnt wanna turn back on. i tryed resetting but it doesn't do anything. Also when i put it on the charger it seems to get pretty hot...is the normal? help please...

There are two different causes of this, either it has been overheated, or the iPod just crashed.  If it crashed, there is one simple step to fixing it.  Letting the battery die.  Do not connect to a charger port, or the device may get overheated, and need to be replaced.  Once it dies, it normally will show the icon, that is needs to be charged. Once you charge it back up, it should go back to normal.  If this doesn't help, then contact apple to the nearest store about getting a replacement.

  • My ipod touch wont turn on the screen is balck i tried connecting it to my computer but it wont work.. Can anyone help me ?

My ipod touch wont turn on, The screen is black and i tried to plug it inot my computer and it still wont turn on.. Can someone help me ?.

After charging for at least an hour I would try in order:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  You may have to place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to see the iPod.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Making an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store
