ipod touch wont switch on and constantly only shows the apple logo screen. Have tried to reset by holding both buttons down but hasnt worked. it also doesnt appear on itunes.
Hvae you tried:
- Reseting the iPod and then try restoreing the iPod
- Placing the iPod in recovory mode and then restoring the iPOd. For recovery mode see:

- Next try DFU mode

Hi i was on facebook on my ipod touch and i deleted the app and when i went to open twitter it froze so i restarted holding down the lock and home key and now it won't turn back on its just stuck on the apple logo screen even if i try to reset it again it just goes back to the apple logo. I have tried restoring the ipod on different computers, one Vista, and one 7. On both, the restore process seems to complete just as it should, until the point where it says "your IPOD will now restart and will appear in listed devices. This IPOD never restarts. The Apple logo just stays on for approximately 30 seconds and then the screen turns off for five or ten seconds and the logo comes back on, over and over for approximately forty five minutes or so, Occasionally the "connect to USB" will come back on, but that is rare. When that does happen, the I-Tunes recognizes it again as an IPOD that needs to complete the restore process. VERRRRRY AGGRAVATING!!!
Time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. It appears you have a hardware problem.

I have same broken iPod Touch 4G, I'm stuck on the Apple logo and only what I can do is just restart. If I connect iPod turns on but that's all. I checked a lot of tricks how to restart/reboot device and how to get DFU but I have only the logo. iTunes on my mac can't recognize the device.
And in Apple retail store the guy told me: sorry it's dead. We can fix for about £200. After 1 month when my waranty is finished. Funny isn't it? I can't believe that my lovely iPod is dead after 13 months. Where is the "for quality you have to pay." Is it conspiracy if you don't buy extra waranty we will send you killing signal into your iDevice?

My ipod touch only shows the apple logo, and i can't connect it to my computer. when i connect it, it doesn't show up in my itunes, or even in my computer. I was updating an app last night, and it wouldnt work, and it shut off.
If it is still charging using the adapter, let it charge for 10min, then connect in recovery mode, explained here:

Mine did the same thing last week after trying to update it via wi-fi. I then spent 11 hours Sunday updating my itunes on the laptop then restoring my ipod. Now all it does is beep as if it is just plugged in and flash the white apple logo. It beeps constantly. My computer at first didn't recognize it, then it did but said I needed to unlock it,(since I can't get the home screen up, I can't.) and now it doesn't recognize it at all. I've tried both computers.

DESPERATE PLEASE HELP So my mother got herself an iPod touch 5g for Christmas and barely asked me to set it up last night, (BRAND NEW NOT OPENED YET).. I set it up not plugged into iTunes (directly on iPod). I was setting up a new iTunes account for her (got passed Wi-fi set up and location services) and as I was doing that, it mysteriously froze somehow. First, make sure iTunes is correctly installed. You may want to reinstall it.

If iTunes is installed correctly, hold down the volume down and sleep/wake buttons till you see the apple logo, then try again.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

i was upgrading my iphone to ios6.1.2; the upgrading had been completed and starting to install but suddenly the wi fi connection lost and the installation couldn't be completed.
