Ipod Touch wont sync but Nano does...any ideas?

My ipod touch is no longer syncing.  New one - 64gb.  I also have an 8gb nano - latest version and it syncs fine from same itunes.  Wondering if it is a hardware conflict.  I read about hp driver for scanne rconflict and uninstalled to no avail.  Out of ideas.  Anyone please?
Latest version of ipod SW and latest version of itunes installed.  Windows 7.

I assume yu mean that iTunes does not see your iPOd Touch.
Yes, it is likely that the scanner software is casung the problem.  However, first try:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Is the scanner sofware still uninstalled?  It should be. Also try removing and reinstall the Apple software by using the Vista/Win7 link provided in:

  • Ipod touch wont sync but older 5G will

Hi All, Hope someone can help.
I have a new touch and a 30GB 5G Video Ipod. I also have two computers with Itunes installed, an XP machine and a Vista machine. Both machines have fully powered USB ports and I am connecting directly to the port.
On the XP machine both the Touch and 5G sync fine, so I dont have an issue with hardware, cables etc. On the Vista machine the 5G syncs fine but the touch does not appear as a device in Itunes. It connects and shows up as a device in the Device manager in Vista. When I first got the touch it did sync with the Vista box.
I MAY have told Itunes on the Vista box to not sync with the touch and I MAY have ticked the "don't show me this again" box. I'm really not sure. I have also:
    reset the touch
    tried various cables
    reinstalled itunes (twice)
I would really prefer to have the touch on the Vista machine if possibe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Gordon

    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try re-installing the latest version from this page on top of the current installed version and see if that helps.

  • My iPod touch wont sync or charge on my computer, but charges in a dock

All of a sudden my iPod touch (3rd gen) is not syncing to my computer or charging on the computer, but it will charge in a separate docking station. This started on Sat 1/8/11, Friday it worked & Saturday it didn't. I did not do any updating of tunes prior to problem and I am working with the most updated itunes software. I have tried multiple usb ports & multiple cords & none of them work. I also have a plug that goes into the wall using the usb & it does not work now either.
Of course my warranty was up 21 days ago. Help me please! I'm desperate.

  • IPod Touch will Sync but will not turn on / screen blank - Help!

couple days ago my iPod Touch (latest version) fell into a cup of water, about 2/3 submerged (the end with the charging/docking port and audio jack did not get wet).  It was there several minutes before I noticed.  I figured it was a goner!  I did try to turn it on before I really realized what had happend (that the cup was not empty!).  Nothing, of course.  I let it dry for a couple days, part of the time in rice as I read online.
I hooked it up to my computer today and launched iTunes.  The screen was still blank, and I left the room.  I didn't really look to see if iTunes recognized it.  But sure enough, it does!  I was able to download my latest photos, and it updated my Podcasts.  After done Syncing, I ejected and tried again to turn on.  Also tried hard reset.  The screen remains blank, no sign of life except it's obviously not "dead" yet!  Any ideas?  Or, is it ruined for good?

    - See if a reset will either fix the problem or allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore it.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next see if placing the iPod in  Recovery mode will allow a restore.
    - The try DFU mode and restore

  • Ipod Touch Wont Sync to Itunes

Hey, so my ipod touch hasnt worked right with itunes for a while now, ive done a lot of things trying to get it to work but heres the issue. When i plug in my itouch, itunes doesnt do anything. Ive made sure the sync automatically setting is on, but that changes nothing. It doesnt even recognize my itouch, when i look to the sidebar on itunes it doesnt say "*insert name* ipod. So naturally the first thing i tried doing was using the itunes troubleshooter, but the instance i press the next button to start the process, it freezes itunes, which stops responding and closes. So next i tried to reinstall itunes. This actually does solve my issue, as when i put the ipod in immediately after it does sync, however the very next day it will not work again. I dont feel like reinstalling itunes every night to sync it. So now ive been looking on the internet for solutions, ive done many things that havent helped at all, i did all the things that the apple website says to do, and it didnt work still. Right now i really dont know who else to ask.

I had a similar problem to this and found out my mobile device service had not started properly. I found the following apple link http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 for restarting the service useful and my problem now seems to have disappeared.

  • IPod touch wont sync with iTunes. Weird errors!

    Anytime I try to sync anything to my iPod touch, I get one of the following error messages;
1.)Attempting to copy to the disk “Duncan’s iPod” failed. There are too many files open currently.
2.)The iPod “Duncan’s iPod cannot be synced. An internal device error occurred.
3.)iTunes could not copy “a song of mine” to the iPod “Duncan’s iPod” because an unknown error occurred [-42].

5.)The app “various apps” could not be installed on the iPod “Duncan’s iPod” because an unknown error occurred (0xE8008001).
Most of the time, it's either the first or second error, but it changes pretty much every time.
I have tried restoring my iPod (that didn't work), erasing all content and settings on my iPod (that didn't work), even uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes (that didn't work, either!).
Any help, any help AT ALL would be appreciated.

If you've updated to ITunes 10.5, I would say that is where your problem lies. I'm facing the same issue and never had a problem synching until I updated yesterday. I'm searching the forums to see if anyone's found an answer to this problem but, be assured, you're not alone!
