Try:

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My Ipod Touch wont turn back on after I lock it
Just got an Ipod touch 2ng Gen off my brother.
Everytime I touch the button at the top to turn it off or sleep it, I can't tuyrn it back on again. I have to end up Holding the Home buttom and power button ALWAYS for it to turn back on.
However when playing music, I can push the power button, putting it into sleep and it works fine. Other than that, if I touch the top button and sleep it, it wont turn back on.Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you have a hardware problem.

Ipod touch wont turn back on after reset
I did a complete reset and now the the apple comes on then afer a few mins the screen flashes bright white then goes to black then the aplle comes back any help
- First reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If iTunes sees the iPod I would restore the iPod to factory defaults
- If not seen, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.
- Last, let the battery fully drain and the charge and try again. -
my ipod touch wont turn on ive tried restoring it but every time i do it just says its waiting for the ipod to respond. meanwhile my ipod is no longer a black screen but the apple logo with a loading bar underneath that after leaving for 8 hours hasnt moved.
Try:
- Another cable
- Another USB port
- Reboot the computer
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

My ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer
So my ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer! it was working fine then outta no where it wouldnt wanna turn back on. i tryed resetting but it doesn't do anything. Also when i put it on the charger it seems to get pretty hot...is the normal? help please...
There are two different causes of this, either it has been overheated, or the iPod just crashed. If it crashed, there is one simple step to fixing it. Letting the battery die. Do not connect to a charger port, or the device may get overheated, and need to be replaced. Once it dies, it normally will show the icon, that is needs to be charged. Once you charge it back up, it should go back to normal. If this doesn't help, then contact apple to the nearest store about getting a replacement.

What do I do if my ipod touch wont turn on
My ipod touch wont turn on...my daughter was using it and it just went black. It has been needing to be charged more frequently lately...
Do you see it charging? If it does then what does the screen show? Or try holding the power button for a few seconds, what shows on the screen?
Else just press and hold the Power and Home buttons together until you see the apple logo. -
1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.
Hi there. My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on. The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems. However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears. Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears). So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes. However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button. Can anybody help? Thanks.

My Ipod classic wont turn back on
My IPod classic wont turn back on. I dont know why.
Try a Reset.
Turn the Hold switch on, then off again and then press-and-hold the Menu and the Select (centre) buttons together for at least ten seconds. The Apple logo shoudl apapera at soe stage and then the iPod will re-start.
Alternatively, if the iPod's battery is drained, plug it into a power source and leave it for at least thirty minutes. Only then will it show signs of life. -

My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in.
My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in. The ipod doesnt turn on when I plug it into the wall, even if I let it charge, and itunes won't recognize it. I have tried to reset it with the home and power buttons. Whats wrong and how can I fix it? I think it might be the memory or the battery. What could the clicking sound be related to? Thanks
Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
After that I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
