Ipod touch wont turn on?
Ok so ive had my ipod touch for a long time since 2009 i think. It when the 4th gen. came out. A year later my lock button stopped working I had taken it in, and they did nothing about it. I learned how to deal with it fine. I had no problem with it. Its been like this for a long time. Now just today my ipod died, and I had pluged it in, and nothing happened. It was just a wall charger so when i got home i pluged it into my moms mac book, and its still not doing anything the compters not registering it. Nothing is happening. Dont tell me to hold the lock and home button because my lock button doesnt work so any ideas.?

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in.
My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in. The ipod doesnt turn on when I plug it into the wall, even if I let it charge, and itunes won't recognize it. I have tried to reset it with the home and power buttons. Whats wrong and how can I fix it? I think it might be the memory or the battery. What could the clicking sound be related to? Thanks
Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:

After that I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. -
1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.
Hi there. My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on. The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems. However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears. Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears). So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes. However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button. Can anybody help? Thanks.

What do I do if my ipod touch wont turn on
My ipod touch wont turn on...my daughter was using it and it just went black. It has been needing to be charged more frequently lately...
Do you see it charging? If it does then what does the screen show? Or try holding the power button for a few seconds, what shows on the screen?
Else just press and hold the Power and Home buttons together until you see the apple logo. -

My ipod touch wont turn on, The screen is black and i tried to plug it inot my computer and it still wont turn on.. Can someone help me ?.
After charging for at least an hour I would try in order:
- Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes. You may have to place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to see the iPod. For recovery mode see:

My ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer
So my ipod touch wont turn on at all even when i connect it to my computer! it was working fine then outta no where it wouldnt wanna turn back on. i tryed resetting but it doesn't do anything. Also when i put it on the charger it seems to get pretty hot...is the normal? help please...
There are two different causes of this, either it has been overheated, or the iPod just crashed. If it crashed, there is one simple step to fixing it. Letting the battery die. Do not connect to a charger port, or the device may get overheated, and need to be replaced. Once it dies, it normally will show the icon, that is needs to be charged. Once you charge it back up, it should go back to normal. If this doesn't help, then contact apple to the nearest store about getting a replacement.

Brand New ipod Touch wont turn on and isnt recognized by windows or macbook
I just got my ipod touch and macbook today. When i press the button on top of the ipod, it wont do anything. Also, when i plug the ipod into my macbook and my other PC, they both dont recognize it. Nothing has come up on the ipod's screen. Should i take it to the apple store in my area? Thank you all!
Hi--
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Sorry to hear about your iPod. If you're close to an Apple store, then I'd definitely take it in and have them look at it, especially if it won't turn on when it's plugged into the MacBook or the PC. Even if the battery was drained out (unlikely on a brand new iPod), it should start up when it's getting power from the USB bus.
It's probably best to check out this list of Apple Stores:
http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/
Pick the one closest to you, then make a reservation at the Genius Bar. It's been a while since I had to do that, but I think I had to wait until after midnight, or maybe until around 6 AM the day I wanted to go in.
