Ipod touch5 gen freeze

Hello and Happy New Year every one !
I have an Ipod touch 5 Gen which I like very much and I do all my graphic and photo works with it. Last night It was very buggy and crashing an specific app all the time so I decided to close and restart the device using the ON-OFF button (the physical rectangle button on top).
And now it is stucked with the Apple icon, since I cant reboot. So I tried several methods explained in Youtube tutorials without any luck.
So I'm able to go to iTunes and Restore it, but using this process will make me lose the media and the data, which I dont want to do it.
I also tried to run all the battery energy in order to reboot but I cant either. It seems to always have a little minimum energy juice and I cant run out of battery.
What Can I do ? Many Thanks, M.
p.s. Im using IOS 8 but I dont remember the version exactly perhaps 811 or 8.1.2
p.p.s: I dont have a mac computer. Is there a place on icloud where I can see all my data and media, before taking the decision to restore my device? Because when log into icloud.com there is only very basic information like NOTES, MAIL, Calendar, Contacts etc...

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can restore another 5G iPod touch, iPad 2 or later, or iPhone 4S or later from the backup of your iPod.
You can access iCloud items like Calendar and Contacts by go to icloud.com and signing in. There are also paid programs that allow you to access some info from the iPod backup made by iTunes.

When i disconnect my iPod 2nd Gen from my laptop, its display goes off and working freezes. Please help me.

The computer freezes?  There may be something wrong with the USB port.  If the laptop has more than one port, does this happen on any port?  If you are disconnecting the shuffle cable from the computer, does it make any difference if you disconnect the shuffle at the other end of the cable first, then disconnect the cable from computer?  Or if you currently disconnect the shuffle from cable first, try it the other way.
You may be able to work around this problem, if you get a self-powered USB hub.  Something like this one
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/USB2HB7PRO/
There are many choices, but be sure to get one that has its own power supply.  You can leave the shuffle cable connected to the hub, and connect the shuffle to the hub, instead of directly to the computer.  This may provide a "buffer" for whatever is causing your laptop to shut off when the shuffle is disconnected.  Since the hub has its own power supply, it will not rely on the computer for power to re-charge the battery.

  • I have a 5th gen ipod nano that freezes when playing songs. i can't turn off, change songs, turn volume down. song stays stuck and nothing works at all. any ideas??

i have a 5th gen ipod nano that freezes when playing songs. i can't skip, turn down volume, turn ipod off. it simply screeches as the song is stuck at a specific point. any suggestions?

You have 2 options:  #1 - iPod Repair Tutorials
#2 - take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • I had an iPod Classic 5th Gen that I upgraded from 30gb to 80gb.  The problem I'm having is that it will not more than about 5.4gb worth of songs.  The iPod begins to freeze mid sync and the (-69) error message haults the sync.

I had an iPod Classic 5th Gen that I upgraded from 30gb to 80gb.  The problem I'm having is that it will not sync more than about 5.4gb worth of songs.  The iPod begins to freeze mid sync and the (-69) error message haults the sync process.  The hard drive has been upgraded, it has a new logicboard (with 128mb RAM), new housing, battery, hold / headphone jack.  Basically the only original parts are the bezel, click wheel, screen, and data ribbons. Have attempted the 3Rs and have also tried to isolate potentially corrupt audio files and remove them, but this did not seem to be the primary cause.  The sync failure consistently happens at just under a 1000 songs (5.4gb) and then it starts to error (-69) any song after that.  Your advise would be enthusiastically received.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

  • IPod touch 3 gen Freezes?

I'm having this sort of problem.

it began freezing constantly since Saturday, so yesterday i restored it fully, and it has the latest software and stuff... i even deleted some stuff so i have oretty much free space.
    And still. it keeps freezing.
and it has that bug where you are watching videos on you tube and the top bar moves to the left (as if you were watching it vertically) but viewing it horizontally, and with that bar it freezes, and lets you do nothing in that moment.
    what should i do?

I can'r go to an apple store, cause there isnt any close to me.
Yet, i'll [rpbably go to Best Buy -where i bought it- on saturday.
hopefully they can fix it, or replace it. -i still got warrany, since i bought it... like 5 months ago-

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

  • My iPod 5th gen won't connect to internet, and symbol is grey. Help!

My iPod touch 5th gen ,with I.O.S 7.1.1, will not connect to the internet at all. If I go into settings the the wifi slider will not slide at all. And if I use the slide-up section of my iPod, that displays bluetooth, airlane mode, wi-fi ect, the symbol of wi-fi is grey. Please help. Have you encountered this problem, or have seen it before, can you show me how to fix it, because without wi-fi my iPod is essentially half useless.

  • IPod Touch (Gen 1, Software 3.0) running hot/locking up.

In the last few months, I have been having a recurring problem with my iPod Touch (Gen 1, now running 3.0), where on occasion it starts feeling incredibly hot to the touch, the screen freezes, and it refuses to accept any input from anything but the home and the lock/power key.
I've ruled out environmental causes, and also it doesn't seem to be software/apps causing the problem, as I first encountered it at V2.2, and it has happened with just a clean install on there as well.
Any ideas to what could be causing this, or to a potential solution?

This is not a bug but a problem with the software or hardware on your individual iPod. You have not mentioned try to fix it by doing a restart, reset, or a restore. These types of minor problems generally respond well to one of those remedies.
However, if your problem doesn't go away, you may have a problem with the touch screen. If you are still under warranty, then a trip to the closest Apple store might be a good idea.

  • IPod causing iTunes freeze

    Hi guys,
hope someone can help as this has had me flummoxed for a good few hours and nothing as of yet I have come across has helped me in fixing my iPod (5th Gen).
Basically when attempting to use iTunes (with my iPod connected), iTunes freezes and forces itself to shutdown, I have tried to remedy this by resetting the iPod (unable to enter diagnostic mode or disk mode), reinstalled iTunes, used a different computer to see if it was my computer and god knows what else to get it working again but as of yet no luck, without accessing iTunes I can't restore original factory settings to the iPod either (which is now the aim).
Any suggestions on what I can do or how to remedy the situation?
    Thanks

Pretty much the same story here. I don't know if this is related to the latest version of iTunes, which I recently updated? Is there a bug?
When I connect the iPod (5th generation video), I get "Updating <ipod name>..." screen, and it hangs. IPod says to not disconnect. It never recovers.
    I've tried:
    -Removing and reinstalling iTunes
-Checking off the setting to NOT automatically synch ipods and iphones
    -Turning off my anti-virus
-Reading through all the support articles, which suggest to reset the iPod to factory settings...
The kicker is that I can't do a factory reset of the iPod or update the firmware without connecting to iTunes, of course.
I guess it's hopeless. Time to throw the iPod out??? Seriously, what to do?

  • IPOD causing PC freeze!

I recently downloaded an itunes update 7.0.2.16. After the update, the program prompted the update of my IPOD nano (gen 1) which I went ahead and did. For some reason, all the songs got erased. I can live with that...but the problem is that whenever I plug in my nano, the iTunes program totally freezes. I can't even run the diagnostics since the nano won't let me do anything in itunes when its plugged in. I'm at a bit of a loss. Even when I try and look at "My computer" when my nano is plugged in...windows does not seem to recognize it there. I never had any problems before (had nano for 6 months). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Go into iPod Diskmode, and using Window explorer check for files that is using up space, delete these files, all music files should be under iPod control folder.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze Itunes sync Operation with Ipod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your Ipod filesystem.
    My suggestion.
Connect your Ipod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror.
Disconnect from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
    Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When Itunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected start back your Antivirus and coonet back the Internet.
    Good Luck!

  • IPod 4th gen messed up from ios6 update

I tried updating my 4th gen ipod touch the other day. In the middle of the update it went into recovery mode, so i tried plugging it into itunes and restoring it. in the middle of this, it went to the apple screen and is frozen. it keeps restarting and itunes wont recognize it. ive tried restoring it like 3 times.. help?

argh, i was gonna say thank god i aint alone, but then i realised you guys probably still havent resolved the issues. iv got a 4th generation ipod as well. its been fine and then like a month ago songs started skipping by themselves and then the ipod would randomly freeze. its gotten to the point now that songs hardly ever play and now i get the folder and exclamation mark logo coming up! i have tried all the "r" rule things except for the last one. my ipod is no longer recognised on my pc or my laptop either as a storage device or in itunes. each time i plug it into my pc or laptop, the ipod updater, used to restore everything reads "initializing" but freezes so i can't even restore the **** thing. hence havnt got anywhere. what should i do now?
ps as far as im aware i have kept up to date with both ipod and itunes software. if this problem is caused because of apple software then why are we having to suffer?

  • IPod 5th Gen Won't Connect to Chargers

So I've had my iPod 5th gen with iOS 7.1.2 for a little over a year now, and recently I noticed it wouldn't connect to any chargers I had. I went online and bought a brand new lightning cable to find that that would not work either. Then I read about cleaning my charger port to get dust out, and I did that getting large amounts of debris out of there with a toothpick, but it still will not charge properly. The only way I can get my iPod to charge is to bend the cable (even the brand new one) in a certain direction. Can anyone help me?
