IPod turns off as soon as I unplug it and will not charge or respond.
I've had trouble charging my iPod, as in it won't charge whether hooked up to a wall socket or to a usb, I've tried changing both usb slots and sockets to no avail and tried resetting repeatedly.
Now it works fine while plugged into a socket (not when plugged into the computer) but the instant I unplug it it switches off and will not respond, unable to reset it or turn it on or anything, I've left it on charge for a long time and also tried to drain the battery totally and then charge it, neither of these had any effect.
Sounds like a defective battery or something wrong with the charge circuitry inside the iPod. In either case, if this is an iPod Classic, it is under warranty and should be returned to Apple for repair or replacement.

IPod Mini is Dead and will not charge or respond
My daughter has a 4GB second generation iPod Mini. It has worked fine, other than a few freeze ups every now and then, for several years. Yesterday it stopped working altogether. We have tried charging overnight with the AC charger but still there is no sign of life. Her iMac does not recognize it and we cannot get it to turn on. There is no charging icon when it is plugged in. It appears to be totally dead. Prior to this the battery still had reasonable running life. She would get about 6 to 8 hours of playback time per charge.
We have tried toggling the "hold" button. Nothing seems to work. I would appreciate any ideas.I got tied up and forgot to respond to the earlier post. The iPod Mini is back in working order. While I had tried a reset procedure before and got no where, I tried it again. Finally on the third attempt the "apple" logo appeared and all was well. Since I had not gotten any response from the Mini the first time I tried a reset, I assumed that the resetting procedure would not work. So a good lesson to this is to attempt re-setting several times if it does not work the first time.
Thanks to all that took the time to contribute.

My iPod Nano (fourth generation) is stuck on a black screen and will not charge. It's done this before and you can still see a faint outline of the green charging sign and the time/date. HELP
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my iPhone 4 has just shut down. Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge. Any suggestions? I did download a ringtone app and went on to iTunes to sync!.
Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

I know any device could malfucntion but if it costs $40,000 to buy you could at least warn someone of the possible malfuctions. It makes the company look bad when a large amount of your devices act up and you "cant help them" if they dont pay extra. Im just saying.
Sorry but that makes no sense at all. How can they possible know what things will possible malfunction on your device? Anything that they think is highly likely to malfunction they would have addressed in desiging and manufacturing the device in the first place, during development. They've made and sold many millions of iPhones, and many of them have lasted years without any problems (I know, I've owned such iPhones personally). So how could they possible know if yours was any more likely to develop any issues than any of those other trouble free ones?
It's hardware - stuff sometimes breaks randomly. No amout of money ever guarantees or even reduces the likelyhood of random product failures.
Take it in to Apple and see about getting it fixed. -
My Lightning to 30-Pin Connector will only play music through my iPod dock from my iPod, and will not charge my iPod touch 5th gen. Help me please.
Have you tried resetting the dock by removing it from power? What about resetting the iPod Touch? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

So, I have an ipad 1 as shown above. Recently it froze so I followed Apple instructions and held down the home button and the sleep button until it reset. A couple weeks later I noticed that it would not charge with either the wall plug in or usb plug in. I discovered that it would charge only if it was completely dead (up to 5% and then it stops charging) or if I plug it in via wall plug, then turn it off, and leave it off until it is completely charged. It will not charge if it is on. I have followed all of Apples help/troubleshooting and it still hasn't worked. This would not be such of an issue, but now I have learned that the ipad will not be recognized by itunes and cannot be updated. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Make an appointment at your local Apple store and take it back. I think there's some sort of hardware issue going on and they are the only ones to handle it.

Just Upgraded my IPOD 5 to iOS 7.0.2 and it will not charge the battery anymore.
When I plug it in, it now gives the message "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this IPOD".
Anyone else have this issue after they upgraded the iOS system?

Computer turns off as soon as i unplug power adapter but battery has 96%
this just started happening less than a week ago. i have never changed anything on the computer and never dropped it. when i check the battery life by pressing the button on the battery to see the level it has all lights appearing but as soon as i unplug my computer from the wall charger it suddenly turns off. when i try to turn it back on it will turn on for a few seconds (you can hear everything start up including fans) but screen will stay black and then shut. i can only turn it on if it is plugged into the wall. I NEED HELP!
Welcome to the Forums!
This symptom fits the description of "+Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery+". There are known issues with MBP batteries, and Apple extended the battery warranty to two years for all Core Duo machines (and they have replaced many C2D batteries under this program as well). Read the following:
http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
...then contact AppleCare or visit an Apple Store.
Hope this helps... -

Sometimes when the battery is really flat and you plug the charger in, the phone does not appear to do anything for a quite a few minutes and the apple logo does not appear. Plug in the charger and leave it for say 10 minutes and a see if the phone turns on
