Ipod update 1.1.1 and FM Radio

Hello to everybody,
I've just upgraded my Ipod with video to the new updater version (1.1.1)
I've found my RDS radio problems are still the same, unresolved.
Bye

If you are referring to the unpredictability of the RDS display when using the "Europe" setting, then it's the same for me also.
This issue does not appear to have been addressed in the latest update. : (
Maybe more feedback is in order?

in this context, there's a couple of different things that could be causing that error.
    (1) you can get it sometimes if you try to uninstall the updater from a different XP user account from which the updater was installed, or try to install a higher version of the updater in a different user account from a lower version.
so if you've got several different user accounts on that PC, see if you can find the account in which the updater was originally installed, and try to uninstall it from there.
    (2) if you can't uninstall the updater from any account (or you don't have multiple user accounts on that PC), the installation configuration information for the existing updater may be compromised.
in that case, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, and use it to clear the things called either iPod for Windows or iPod Updater. (my 2004-11-15 version of the updater shows up in Windows CleanUp as "iPod Updater", but my three later versions show up as "iPod for Windows".)

once the previous updater has been cleared, will the install of the new updater go through properly?

  • I have updated to iOS 7 and iTunes Radio isn't there

I have updated to iOS 7 and have used iTunes radio but it is now missing from my music player

    One USA user got it by;
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • My ipod update wiped my music and videos over £330 worth, My ipod update wiped my music and videos over £330 worth

I gave into pressure from apple and updated my ipod touch, the sync failed and an error message then my ipod was wiped of over £300 worth of content! Why???? whats the point? whats the point of taking my music, videos and apps. is there any way i can retrieve my music at least?

Apps can be re-downloaded for free, and as you give the price in £'s I assume that you are here in the UK, in which case you should also be able to re-download your music as well - TV shows can also be re-downloaded here. Films can currently only be re-downloaded in the US (and not all films).

Did you not copy your purchases off the iPod before starting the update via File > Transfer Purchases and/or already have a backup of your content ?

  • My ipod updated to ios7.2 and now it can' connect to wifi

All I did was update the software to iOS 7.2 and now it won't connect to my home wi-fi at all. I've put in the wi-fi password multiple times, correctly, and it doesn't even try to connect. It automatically goes to an error message saying that I used the wrong password. Everything else in my house is able to connect to the internet, just not my ipod.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Proxy Autoconfiguration File, Authenticated Proxy and iTunes iPad/iPod updates

    Hi All,
Please can someone advise if there is anything that can be done to get iPad/ Ipod updates working using iTunes and an authenticating proxy server?
    Scenario is as follows:
    1. Proxy settings in IE is configured using a proxy autoconfiguration file (PAC file).
    2. The URLS *.apple.com is allowed to bypass authentication on the Proxy server.
    3. Itunes is used to update the devices from a PC running windows as OS.
When Itunes is opened, the connection to the Itunes store works 100%. The iOS downloads using iTunes is also successfull.
    Issue:
As soon as the downloaded iOS is being extracted and communicated to the devices, iTunes fails with an error code of 3004..
It seems like the PC is trying to make direct connections out instead of using the proxy settings in the PAC file.
Any advice / ideas to get this working?
    Regards

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
If you have Safari 3rd party plugins, they may not be compatible with 10.6. Go here for trouble shooting.
If you use GlimmerBlocker by chance, that could be the culprit. Check out this thread.

Same with any Input Managers. Move any files in the /Library/InputManagers folder to the Trash
If you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
Go to ~/Library/Cookies and move the Cookies.plist file to the Trash.
Try Open DNS - Free / Basic
If Safari still can't open web pages, go to the Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If Safari loads web pages then that .plist file needs to be moved to the Trash.

  • IPod Updater does not recognize iPod Nano

I installed the iTunes while charging my new iPod Nano 4GB from my USB port. iPod worked and was recognized during this process. After successfull ejecting and disconnecting I got the 'Folder icon with an exclamation point' in the iPod display. I followed the Apple hint on their www.apple.com/support/ipod homepage and downloaded the latest software iPod Updater (2006-06-28) and updated from 1.1 to iPod nano 1.2. In this process the Updater ended with saying that the software was updated, but that I had to wait for the iPod to quit/release the process, and it never did. It says 'Do not disconnect'. After ½ a day of waiting I had to disconnect it anyway. I thaught of 'Restore' the factory software but now Updater will not even see my iPod when I connect it. The Updater freezes and I have to 'End Process' from the Task Manager. iPod display keeps saying 'Do not disconnect' and shows a small 'sun' in the upper left corner with 'sunbeams rotating around the sun'. Can't find this symbol anywhere. Can't eject the iPod by software from neither the iTunes nor the 'Safely remove hardware' utility. When I pull out the plug from the iPod it resets and shows the Apple log and prompts me for selecting a language. The iPod 'About' panel shows that I have updated to software 1.2
I tried to follow this link down to the 'Remove iTunes' point, but no success sofar:

I have the same problem after update to sw 1.2.
And I have successfully get it back to normal by re-format the iPod-drive.
If you see windows recognise the iPod-drive. Try to re-format it (use FAT32). If you are success to reformat it, Ipod updater will recognise it and you can now do a 'Restore' to create the file structure back again for the Ipod-drive.
I continue to use the updated sw, v1.2. And hope it does not cause more problem as this one.

  • After runnin iPod Updater 2006-06-28 for my 2GB iPod Nano my computer froze

I installed iTunes 6.0.5 and my 2GB iPod Nano was recognized... everything seemed OK. I then tried running iPod Updater 2006-06-28 and this is when my problems began. After running the Updater program my iPod froze during the update process. I had to shutdown my computer in order to stop the updater program. Upon restarting my computer, iTunes no longer recognizes my iPod and if I run the updater program again it continues to freeze or does not recognize my iPod. When I plug in my iPod, Windows recognizes my iPod but my computer becomes very slow. Please note that when my iPod is not connected to my computer it appears to be OK but all my data has been removed. The updater program also appears to have been successful in updating my iPod to v1.2.
To try and resolve this issue I performed Apple's Five Rs and also followed Apples instructions for "iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes." Please see the links below for these procedures.

    pint!

  • IPod updater-not installing right

I recently just updated my iTunes, now when I try to upload music onto my iPod Mini, I get a message saying "iPod software is too old-the music cannot be copied, download the new iPod updater". I have tried downloading the iPod updater 3 times, and I get to the screen where it gives you an option to either restart your computer now or restart your computer later. I have restarted my computer twice and once I clicked "restart your computer later"... I don't see any differences, and when I try to upload music on my iPod (after downloading iPod updater) it still gives me the same message I had from the start- That the iPod software is too old. Is there any advice someone can give me??

    pixiedust,
After you've downloaded the SetUp Launcher for the iPod Updater from the Apple web site you have to make sure that it's installed on your computer. A good first step is to double-click the SetUp Launcher icon and follow the directions. It sounds like you've done this but you may not have gone on to the next step.
Once it's installed you then have to run the Updater (Start Menu > All Programs > iPod > iPod Updater 2005-11-17 > iPod Updater 2005-11-17) and connect your iPod when prompted to do so. Click on the Update button and your little friend should be all set.
    If not, post back.

  • I think I found out what the iTunes + iPod update problem is

    All,
I spent some more time trying to figure out what exactly this iPod update/iTunes problem is and I think I discovered something interesting.
I can manually sync my MP3's but not my AAC files. When I sync MP3's - iTunes and the iPod are fine. However, as soon as I attempt to sync even one Protected AAC file, iTunes bombs.
I'd be interested in seeing if others try this and get the same results. If this is the core problem, syncing protected or AAC files, then we may be able figure out the exact component that has botched everything up here.
    Chris

RE: manual sync - I mean manual copying through iTunes. That is - not selecting to update the songs automatically. I drag them from my library to the iPod within iTunes so I have control what goes there.
Bummer - I thought I was on to something. All I can say is that I can sync anything but the Protected AAC's. When I let it automatically sync my iPod, iTunes bombed. When I selected manual syncing and moved a playlist, it bombed after a few songs. I tried to look into why it would stop on certain songs, and noticed that it was bombing on the protected AAC's. So, I copied over 1000 MP3's including songs and podcasts, and they copied successfully. I selected one AAC and immediately it bombed.
Maybe our problems are not the same?
