hiya!
"firmware update failure disk write error".
you don't explicitly say what you've already tried. so i'm going to have to start by asking this question ...

  • Videos not playing correctly

I've had my video iPod for a couple of weeks and generally, I love it. But I noticed that just today (this was NOT an issue before), the videos do not play correctly -- and it's not file-specific. Here's what happens:
The first few rows of pixels lag behind the rest of the video. it's always the same rows. It's especially noticeable while watching Lost with its faster sequences. Has anyone experienced this?

  • FLV videos not playing correctly in Captivate 6

I am running into an issue where my FLV video is not playing correctly when my Captivate project is exported out and saved to the web. The FLV video is about 20 mins long (~100 MB) and it is being streamed from Kaltura. The FLV video is inputted into the Captivate project as a multi-slide synchronized video across 27 slides. The slides themselves are imported from Powerpoint. The problem that we are running into is that the Captivate project and the FLV video play correctly when viewed with decent bandwidth, but they do not appear to play correctly for users with slower bandwidth. However, if a user views the videos independently of Captivate, they can view the videos correctly, even at slower bandwidth. I have tried hosting the Captivate files on several different webservers, including an LMS. But the issue continues and I'm searching for any type of answers that might help.
Thanks for reading and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Nathan

    Nathan,
Your welcome, if that is the case, then can you try and insert the MultiSlide Video, you can insert the streaming video URL.
You can add the server to you computer as network Drive and then browser to that location, once you do that, the options to add the Video as Streaming can be chose and your Vidoe would remain insync with main playbar, users can play and pause content that way.
See if this can be implemented at your end.
    Thanks,

  • Flash videos not playing correctly

I posted some flash videos to some sites that get a
tremendous amount of website traffic. We are getting feedback that
the flash videos do not play consitently. Some people can see them
just fine, others cannot see the videos at all, for others -
particulary in Firefox, the video asks to download rather than
play. We created the videos using Flash 9 - importing the FLV file
and saving as an swf. We do not really see any type of pattern
    across browsers.
    Any advice?

Not loading correctly in what way?

  • IPhoto 11 video not playing correctly

I'm not sure this is because of the recent upgrade to iPhoto 9.4.2 but when I attempt to play a video, the video freezes on one frame but the audio continues as if the video is playing normally. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Shane Ross has a tip that may work for you.

"There is a trick that you need to do. Because I export mine at 30fps out of SNAPZ, but when I bring them in to FCP, they are 10fps. Odd...
BUT...if you use Cinema Tools and CONFORM the clips to 29.97, then they will work fine. Open Cinema Tools, cancel any option to open or create a database. Open the clip and hit CONFORM.
Then import into FCP and use this trick to edit it:

You'll still have to render the audio.

  • Video not playing correctly in Safari

    Hi there
I am having problems viewing embedded video streams in Safari (6.0.4). The video will play ok for a second or two then breaks up into vertical lines (see picture below) with the video's audio playing back ok. I have loaded the same pages using the Chrome browser and the video will playback ok without any issues so that narrows it down to be a problem within Safari.
I know the simple answer is to switch to Chrome as my main browser but tbh I really don't like Chrome very much and would prefer to use Safari as my main browser.
Any help solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cap 4: Flash Videos not playing correctly

I have flv files on 3 different slides of my project. When I publish the project, the 2nd and 3rd videos will play the audio but the video only displays the first frame from the first video.
I published the flv files from Camtasia 7. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you think it could be a Firefox setting, try:
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, choose a useful name (like May2014), and skip the option to use a non-default folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Does Flash work any differently in the new profile?
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Streamed H.264 videos not playing correctly thru IE

I'm new at web stuff so this is probably the dopiest question yet, but here goes.
I'm setting up a web page where my clients can stream a "quick-start" QT movie. My tests have worked perfectly on my own computer (Mac Quicksilver) using Safari and QT7 Pro. It even works when I force them to play using the latest RealPlayer. My partner can't seem to view them on her PC using Explorer. So I did a test where I tried to view them through Explorer too, and I got the same problems.
From reading other threads, it seems this may have something to do with "tags." Can someone explain what tags do and what I might need to do to my videos to play more universally?

Streaming media needs special "properties" called hint tracks inside the media and is also only served from special software.
99% + of the files you view are "downloaded". They use "fast start" to begin playback as soon as enough data has downloaded so that they can play without having to re-buffer (reload) data.
QuickTime plug-in "guesses" the download progress and begins playback (if the file properties or the page code is set to "autoplay") when enough data has been downloaded.
Streaming media can't include some other neat QuickTime "tricks" (like Flash media or text tracks).
We really need some rain down our way. I just answered a knock at my door. It was three Redfish and a really skinny flounder (maybe he was standing sideways) and they asked for a drink of water.
My PDF will teach you some "tricks" and help you get the most from QuickTime Pro. Plus, it will put something other than roadkill wild hog or deer into my diet.

  • Video not playing correctly but sound on the videos does

Hey all. Question for you. Recently my iPod has decided to stop playing the videos shows. The display only shows a picture of the show title (much like the cover art of songs) and the audio plays as if it were playing normally. The files seem good because I can play them on iTunes from the iPod. I can't think of anything differently I have done to it in the last few weeks. It just stopped working suddenly. Any ideas? ANd thanks in advance.

On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.

  • Video not playing correctly

When I try and play my videos I get sound but the video is fussy, as if I am on the wrong channel on a TV set. Can anyone help me with this, Thanks

Thanks Jason L my setting were wrong. Good to go. Time to catch up Thanks again

  • Embedded MP4 videos not playing in iOS Safari

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with embedded MP4 videos (e.g. YouTube videos) not playing correctly in Safari. When I try to play one, I get one of two problems:
    1. On my (first gen) iPad, Safari usually crashes.
    2. On my iPhone 4, videos will load but only play audio, not video, though when I tap on the screen the "play" and "pause" symbols appear.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Or know how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Ok, I fixed it. Go to some embedded Flash video, click to run and then right click to get Global Settings for Flash. Go into Storage and make sure you aren't blocking any data from being stored on your computer. At the very least choose the "ask me" setting. (For good measure I also went into Advanced and clicked to Delete All Data associated with Flash. But when I restored Block for data storage the videos stopped working, so that seems to be the answer.) I'd be interested to hear if this works for others.

  • IPOD updater 2006-1-10, now no sound after video plays for a few seconds

I installed the latest IPod updater 2006-1-10 and now all my movies will hang for a few seconds and then the sound stops working. If I forward through a few frames, the sounds comes back and repeats the same behaviour.
Anyone have a fix or seen this before?

iPod Updater 2006-01-10 has caused a variety of problems on multiple iPod models.
I just spent an hour on the phone with tech support. They forwarded me to some higher level techs due to my extreme heat while recharging issue. They still seem unaware of the problem. I suggested they read the forums to see just how widespread the problem is. The tech I spoke with assured me she would pass the problem up through the ranks and check the forums, but she said they haven't had a lot of service calls on the issue.
    SO!
I suggest that everyone post a "me too" message to the "Complete iPod Failure" thread from 1-23-1006 ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=330396&tstart=0 ), with a description of the problems they are experiencing and what model iPod they own. That thread is an effort at consolidating discussion of this specific issue, as well as a collection of the myriad possible fixes available.
Then phone Apple's tech support (1.800.275.2273) and let them know you've had a problem with the iPod Updater 2006-01-10.
Choose menu selection #1, Technical Support, and talk the automated responder through your configuration.
Hopefully we can at least bring the issue to their full attention and get them to pull the updater from the downloads so it doesn't ruin anyone else's day!
    Good luck!

  • Updater 2006-01-10 does not fix disabled Smart Playlists on my iPod

Despite what the last few posts in this thread state. The most recent 2006-01-10 iPod updater has not enabled the live updating feature on my 60GB iPod photo.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=190331&tstart=0
(BTW, I wish I knew why it was locked!?!?)
I've installed the update, confirmed that my iPod is now running v1.2.1 and I've done a reset, but no Smart Playlist live update lovin'. I played a few tracks on the iPod and none of them showed up in my Recently Played Smart Playlist. )c:
Has anyone gotten this to work? And if so on which model? Or am I just doing something wrong?

From Article 301910 in Apple's Knowledge Base Smart Playlists stop updating dynamically on iPod
If you have an iPod with a Click Wheel, Smart Playlists may stop updating dynamically after you update your iPod with iPod Updater 2005-06-26 or later. For example, if you rate a song on your iPod, the rating appears, but that same song won't appear in a Smart Playlist based on the same rating on your iPod. But this can happen with a Smart Playlist based on any criteria.
Use the iPod Updater 2006-01-10 or later to resolve this.
Note: This issue does not affect iPod nano or Fifth Generation iPod.
Tutackhamen's comments are correct. There is a bug in that smart playlists do not recognize "podcast is true". Instead, you need to use a condition like "genre contains podcast". Apart from this, smart playlists are working. Nested playlists also work correctly, but all playlists must be on the iPod, since you won't match the updated conditions until these playlists complete.

Hi just wanted to let you know I solved most of my XP problems with my new IPOD. It won't recognise the IPOD or driver and froze and locked up and then the battery died. After hours of trying different things here is what I did. I completly closed computer down. Waited 15 minutes turned on and reloaded everything. I put the usb cable in but not hooked up to IPOD. I turned off Mcaffee (all of it). After my computer came on. I then went and closed everything I didn't need in the bottom toolbar. (taskbar). I then reloaded the software and waited. Took forever to reload and I don't know why but whatever it worked but I DID NOT HOOK UP THE IPOD LIKE IT SAID! I instead shut down the computer after loading the software and waited 5 minutes and turned it back on. I again waited and shut of mcaffee. It loaded everything fine this time and said new hard ware and drivers detected. I plugged my IPOD in and YES I WAS UP AND RUNNING (THIS IS AFTER 6 HOURS OF PLAYING WITH OTHER THINGS!) I am able to load and play, burn, watch movies, see pictures and everything your suppose too! The only thing I see different than the instructions is I left my usb cable plugged in and when it said to eject the disk I didn't. I also didn't plug in the IPOD (5th Gen) and then I shut down waited and then restarted the computer. I hope this helps others because I know the feeling of wanting to return something you paid dearly for and worked hard at saving money to buy one and it doesn't work. My only thing I dislike about apple is they didn't supply a ac adapter for the IPOD and the instructions say to plug it up when trying to charge battery. DUHHHHHH, ya can't do that if ya don't have one and stores are closed and won' open until Monday! But at least I am up and running. I just hate having to plug up IPOD to computer daily to charge the battery which only last a half a day1
