IPOD VID 30 GB busted?

My iPod keeps on reseting and it never goes in just keeps on reseting on the apple logo anything i can do ?

This happened to me a while ago. I just let it sit out, and eventually it went to the main menu. After that I restored it with iTunes and it has been fine since. If it doesn't stop resetting, plug it into your computer and force mount it (hold middle button and play/pause). It should then allow you to restore it.

  • How do i get my iPod vid to play videos continuously and not one by one plz

Hi, can someone please advise how do i get the iPod to play the videos one after the other like when playing songs. I have tried going into video settings but it does not help. I did manage to get it on cont. play once last week sometime but i think this was a fluke and i cant remember what i did. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks D

If you create a video playlist in iTunes, add a few
videos to it then transfer that to your iPod, then
when you access the video playlist on your iPod it
should play all the videos one after the other.
Hi, I think i solved it i just pressed the reset button and went back into mus vid playlist and it worked bu i was scared it might of reset the ipod back to factory sttage but it never. Thanks anyway will try your way next time.

  • IPod headphones controls busted?

Hey, I own an iPod Shuffle 3rd generation. It's the one that needs the Apple headphones with the controls. My headphones controls are busted. I can still hear the music smoothly, but without the controls, I can't change the volume or the songs. I'm stuck with it playing song after song with no control over the volume and the song. I hear that the Apple headphones with controls are quite expensive so I'm not so keen to buy a new one just yet. Is there any way to fix the controls? I mean, it's perfectly okay if you just want a pair of headphones, but you know the 3rd generation Shuffle. It needs the ones with controls. If it's any help, the iPod Shuffle itself does a weird thing when I turn it on. The indicator light goes green for about three seconds before blinking orange three times and goes black. That's never happened before when the headphones were still functioning. They always go green for about a second before going black. Please help me.

the problem is that Apple will not send me the replacement earbuds to my address. I live on base in Japan and I have an APO address. Apple doesn't ship to APO addresses so I can't get a replacement.
on a side note. I tried tying a knot into the wire near the earbud, at the connection, and in the middle in a few places and the static is still there. I tried the earbuds in my laptop and they are still staticy. I tried a different set of headphones that work on my laptop and they work fine on the iPod.

  • Vista is asking for a device driver for ipod vid

I dont have a device driver for it and cant find one so the system wont let me install it. it just leaves a ? in the device manager next to ipod

I am in no way teccy but logged on to this discussion site in desperation this morning after getting same message as you after buying ipod yesterday (twas second ipod and trying to run off one library but long story). I deleted previous software and started again. Tried a few bits from this help site, in particular the article suggested to you earlier but end bit where you uninstall the driver, then kept ipod plugged in and restarted machine; then when vista driver menu started again, asked it to search the whole C: drive for device driver, which it seemed to find somewhere (as I said, not teccy).
End result being that I still get the same message asking for device driver but if I ignore it (ie, click 'next time please' or whatever it says) itunes syncs my new ipod brilliantly (music and photos, not tried vid yet).
Am sure some experts having kittens, but in my ignorance, I have a working ipod and hope Vista and Apple can sort out required tweaks soon and give me auto update. Best of luck.

  • Can't synch video files, video podcasts or convert iTunes video to iPod vid

I don't know what has changed recently - I don't recall a new version of iTunes being installed but I am on iTunes 9.1.0.79 under WindowsXP.
I am no longer able to synch video podcasts which have been downloaded via Juice and video from iTunes-subscribed podcasts which were both in the right format and synching happily before whatever it was that changed, changed.
In addition, I cannot right-click and convert video to iPod format - that option isn't there. It has either gone (boo) or the video IS in iPod format in which case why isn't it synchcronising?
I've spent many hours now trying to work out what's changed, gone wrong, what kind of settings need to be changed to get back to where I was.
    HALP!

I'm having the same issues! I used to be able to convert video, but that option is no lnoger there. My video is in a Quicktime format(which I thought was supposed to be compatible with itunes anyway) and it won't play.
And since when aren't you allowed to email customer support?? They want me to pay a min of $29 to have an analyst call me at my convenience? Bunch of greedy bastards!

  • How do I get my 30gig Ipod Vid to get out of restore mode?

Long story short is that I somehow fried my hd. I put a new one it, it worked perfect. As soon as I connected it to my laptop it restored it and voila, I was off and running. I then tried to use my headphones and realized I forgot to plug in the head phone jack, so I opened it up and reconnected everything and put it back together. Now it doesn't work. It's stuck in restore/recovery mode. Both my laptop and desktop won't work. My desktop if rebooted will show the model number and everything for it and when it does the restore and then restarts the ipod it never finds it. I've tried all I can think of. What's my problem? I even replaced the HD cable.

  • IPod touch potentially busted?

A few weeks ago I purchased a second-hand iPod Touch from a friend to get back into the Apple community. I quickly discovered I didn't need all the bells and whistles from Apple and decided to sell it. This transaction is happening Monday but due to a rather serious bump in the road I might be the proud owner of a brick.
During school today my iPod suffered blunt force trauma after it fell out of my gym locker onto the floor. I thought nothing of it after it turned on okay and the screen was intact. I brought it home on low battery and plugged it in to charge. I quickly realized that my iPod was not charging so I turned it off and on again to no avail. The following happened...
    1. I turned off the iPod and plugged it in. The Apple logo appeared and the iPod booted. Although the cable forced it to boot it didn't charge after that first appearance of the logo. Restarting it did the same thing.
    2. After the iPod died I plugged the cable back in. I got the low battery sign with a picture of the lightning cable with a bolt above it for a few seconds. And then it appeared again. I get it for about 6 seconds and then 4 seconds of a black screen before it appears again.
Anyone have an idea of what's up? Is it the cable? What can I do?

  • I can't Sync my movies with Ipod Vid 30 Gigs

    Hi
I have an Ipod Video 30 Gigs black. I can sync all kind of music, calendar and photos (I did not have problems with that). But I tried to sync .mov, .mp4 movies, The simpsons movie potcast, and others videos formats. When the Itunes is syncing with the Ipod a message is showing:
"The movie was not copied to the Ipod because it cannot be played on this Ipod".
I tried a lot of ways but nothing happens. And the message is the same all time.
Anyone knows what is the problem?
    Thanks
    Daniel

I'm having the same problem with my 30GB U2 iPod. I used iSquint to convert my video, and it plays perfectly fine on my iTunes, but it just goes to a black screen when I try to play it on my iPod. The movie is in Mpeg-4 format, which is supposed to work on the iPod-- right?

  • My iPod Vid sometimes freezes and the screen flips out (colors messed up!)

My iPod often freezes and I have to reset it often, whats wrong?? And is it bad for my ipod to restart often?

See this: Restoring the 5th generation iPod (iPod with video).
That may help. No a reset won't harm your iPod but if it needs to be done frequently that may be a sign of other issues.

  • Ipod vid 60gb audio cuts after 32sec. of video

i have a movie on my 60gb 5th gen but the audio cuts out after 32 secs. but if i fastforward it comes back for another 32 seconds. the movie works fine on my computer. smaller videos work fine like wine

I'm having the same problem. The video is in MPEG-4 format and plays fine on the computer but has the same problem as you described when playing on the Ipod. It's very frustrating. I did see one posting that mentioned that the new update to 1.1.1 actually caused the problem. I tried to return to the previous version without restoring but alas, it does not work. So, I've restored my ipod back to the factory settings and am currently reloading over a 1000 files including a number of videos back on to my Ipod. I do wish Apple would at least allow you to return to the original software without erasing all the files - or that the update would actually be an improvement. I'll let you know if the restore worked or not... I was hoping to be able to play the DVD's smoothly. Otherwise, there's no point in converting.

  • Best Resolution for your ipod Vids

I was wondering if anyone figured out the perfect resolution for your ipod videos. I converted some divx files but the pictures gets squeezed or strecthed and it doesnt look as good. the quality is great but i dont like seeing the "universale studios planet earth" looking like an egg.

There is no such thing as a perfect resolution for all videos.
When you convert, you'll want to keep the same aspect ratio as the source video... that will yield the best display.
If you're converting to MPEG-4, the maximum resolution is 480x480.
If H.264, then the max resolution is 320x240. Keep within those limits, but keep the same aspect ratio as the source.

  • IPod video completely busted!

Hi everyone. DOes anyone have any idea what I can do. I got a video iPod a few weeks ago, ther first one didn't work properly and was replaced. The next one froze and was sent off and fixed. The other day I braved plugging it into my computer and did manage to send everything from iTunes to the iPod. The I added new music to iTunes, plugged the iPod in the next day and iTunes and iPod updater just don't want to recognise it. I tries everything on the website but nothing worked. I could still play the existing tunes on my iPod. I then phones Apple Support and spent 45 minutes on the phone going through various technical stuff on the computer and by the time I had finished all the instructions, the iPod had frozen and won't even turn on now! They are going through the whole process of sending it off to be "fixed" or replaced but what am I doing wrong? Any ideas or advice would be welcome before I plug the next one into my computer!

  • 30GB IPOD VID- LOST EVERYTHING AND WON'T SYNC

Been using my ipod fine, no probs etc all of a sudden I've plugged it into pc and itkeeps coming up ''cannott sync ipod - unknown error 48''. I unplugged it and EVERYTHING has gone completley. When I've tried syncing again it says that there isnt enough space left and the data shows orange line of up to 24gb but there is absolutley nothing on ipod and nothing showing up when I click on the music summary for ipod.

    Hi Ilanila,
I had a similar problem and I found that it was because I was not using the orignial cable that came with the device. I'd bought a cheaper cable as a backup and it didn't work well, though it did charge. I'd say take yor device back to store where you bought it or an Apple store and have them try it out with a cable made by Apple.
    Hope this helps :-)
