IPod Video 5th generation

Hi, i'm in Florida and i'm not sure if it's worth buying the ipod video, because i'm moving in few weeks to europe, and i wanted to know if the warranty still works in europe.

actually not, that's not going to change, because i use my ipod in my macbook, wherefore, that's not going to change just because i'm moving..
and the power outlets and etc... that's not a problem to worry about, because the outlets they use it's universal i think, but that's no the case, because the apple care it's universal 3 year protection plan, i just wanted to know if the warranty even though is not a apple care, the warranty at least worked in other countries..

Had you brought the same pair of headphones to the Apple Store with you and they worked there?  If you hadn't, the wire or plug on those headphones may have failed.  Try a different pair if you can and see if those work.
    Hope this helps

  • ITunes can't read my iPod Video 5th Generation

    Hey guys,
So my iPod was messed up for a while back, but I managed to reset/restore it so it's basically at a clean slate. Now when I plug it into my computer, it shows the normal "Do not disconnect." screen and it even shows up on My Computer.
The problem is: iTunes can't read it. It shows nothing on the side panel of iTunes. I tried doing all the device manager things and everything seems to be good. I have an iPod Nano 3rd Generation and it works perfectly well on my iTunes when I plug it in.
Any suggestions on how to get my iTunes to read my iPod Video 5th generation?

    Watcha,
I haven't had any of these problems yet, but getting ready to download the newer version of Itunes. I have a HP Pavilion PC-based laptop with Windows 7, and also an IPOD Video 5th Gen. So I really hope I won't get any problems. Sorry I didn't have any solutions and hope your problems were solved.

  • IPod Video 5th Generation Upload Video to IPod Problem.

    Hi all,
I recently purcase an IPod video, and I have problem with uploading video from Itunes to my IPod. Is working fine when I set it to automatically sync. But when I change the setting to manually and drag the video file into the Movies folder (Itunes) is doesn't seem to be upload to my IPod. Music is working fine. Any one know why.
    Thank heaps in advance.

Well this is a hard one,
You need to do a few things.
First you need to get it ripped in a file format by using questionable-legality software (Cough* like mine*). Or you could use illegal-ish (but not really illegal) software such as Limewire. But if for SOME reason you already have it in that from. Here is what you do.
    Download this software.
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/download.php
It is free and really easy to use. This will convert your movie file to compatible format, MPEG-4 (or Quick-Time).
Ok that was the easy part!
Now you will have to manually set the Audio bit rate to match to Video Bit rate in the Videora. The help tool will show you how to do it. You may get lucky and it will be the get the same bit rate for both. And then you are good to go! (it is worth a try, up to this point, some videos auto convert exactly to try it)
BUT IF NOT: (here we go)
To get the Audio and Video bit rate, change your view mode in the file folder where your original file is located to filmstrips. Now, hover your mouse over the video file, you should see Audio & Video bit rate. If not you will have to fiddle with Videora to get it right. Now change to bit rates in your options in Videora to match the original file. If the audio is off from the video, your sound will lag while your video plays or vise versa. Meaning, at about 5 min your audio could be off by over 45 sec.
Alright, you got your video. Now drag and drop it into Itunes, and drop it into your ipod. There you go! Easy right?
Well if you are lost after the “BUT IF NOT” part and you can’t get it working sufficiently before that point. My suggestion is to give up, unless you are great with computer fiddling.
So all in all it can be done, but it is VERY hard to do! I have done it, but it takes a while to work (2-3 hours-ish).
Hope this helped you, God Life

  • IPod Video 5th Generation 30GB stuck on "Do not disconnect"

    Hi There...
I plugged my iPod to my Mac Mini as usual to sync with iTunes and when I went to sync I realized that the iPod didn't show up in iTunes. I looked in finder and iPod was not there either. So I was not able to eject my iPod. I pulled the iPod from the USB connection and the iPod is now stuck with the screen as described above. I tried to do the trick with holding the Menu button and turning on and off the Hold button and it is still stuck. I tried to connect it to my PC and it's recognized as being there but won't eject.
What else can I try. Right now I'm waiting for the batteries to wear down. Will that work?

I was doing the shut down wrong. I found a video on You Tube that shows how to reset.

  • IPod Video 5th Generation battery issue

I just replaced my original ipod battery a few months ago. It was 4 years old and in serious need of a change. At first it was great. My play time increased noticeably and I hadn't run into ANY type of trouble with ipod. Everything was smooth. However, as of late, it's been acting up. The ipod now dies EXACTLY when the battery has discharged at the halfway mark. The battery meter is still green. It only takes one full hour to charge when it should be taking two. The screen says No battery power remains...please connect to power source. I haven't tried anything to fix this. I didn't try to restore the ipod through itunes. I'm under the impression my ipod has run its course, but I thought I'd check out the forum to see if anyone could shed some light.

Occasionally the 5g ipod will get "stuck" on the "no power remains" screen. When its like this, hook it up to a power source. (I personally use a usb plug outlet just so the computer isn't trying to access the frozen ipod while you fix it) let it sit with power for a while. Do the menu-select reset. (Hold Menu and Select for 10secs) It should restart and work normally. Let the ipod charge for a good while and test it again. If that fails, try restoring it. If that fails, it might the connection to the battery. OPen her up and see if its in properly. If that fails, it just might be a bad battery.

  • Can I use the AC adapter made for the iPad with my iPod Video (5th Generation)?

I have a choice of using the original adapter or the newer adapter made for the Ipad. The original is rated at 5 volts @ 1 amp output. The newer (iPad) adapter is rated at 5.1 volts @ 2 amps output. I tried to recharge the battery and it worked, but the recharge time from a dead battery was around 6 hours. The difference of the voltage is neglegible, but the ampere rating shouldn't hurt the iPod as it only draws as much current (amps) as needed. Having said this I thought that the recharge time would be less...apparently not. I just do not want to damage the iPod. The iPad charger does not get as warm as the original while charging.
Any help is most appreciated. Mike (Phillipsburg, Missouri, U.S.A.)

I've been using my iPad charger to charge my iPhone for over a year. I haven't had any issues. But I can't promise you that your experience would be the same.

  • IPod video 5th G - Can only load about 15 songs before it crashes and won't allow me to add any more - Is my hard drive broken?

I have an iPod Video, 5th Generation - a few years old aye, but it does the job. Recently it crashed and wouldn't respond at all, I tried the 5 R's and the iPod wouldn't restore at all. Finally I managed to restore it, but then encountered a new problem.
When I try to put new music onto the iPod the maximum I can really add is about 15/16 songs (currently sitting about 112 MB). I can use the iPod just fine with this on it, but I can't add any songs or anything past this limit. I can take songs off and add new ones on, but again cannot pas this limit.
It is a 30GB hard drive, so I should be able to load near enough 30GB onto it.
Whenever I try to pass the limit and add new songs a message saying "Attempting to copy to the disk "RUSSELL'S I" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).", and then a second message pops up reading "iTunes could not copy "Song" to the iPod because an unknown error occurred (-69)."
Looking to find out, does this mean my Hard Drive is broken/damaged, or could it possibly be a different issue, as buying a new hard drive is reasonably cheap, but if it turns out to be the motherboard or something else then I don't want to have wasted the money buying a new HDD only to find out the problem hasn't been fixed.
Has anyone else had this issue? Or anybody found a way to fix it?
    Cheers
    Russell

See here: iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod
You can use the disk diagnostic tool built into the iPod's firmware to test the health of it's Hard Drive.  See this post from another forum member turingtest2 on how to do this as well as what the resulting numbers mean.

  • On my iPod touch (5th generation) it won't let me watch any video's off any Internet sources eg Facebook twitter and YouTube. When I click on the video it just comes up saying 'this operation could not be continued'?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod nano 5th generation freezes when trying to play a song or video

Within the last couple of day my ipod nano 5th generation started freezing whenever i tryed to play a song. Oly way i could turn it off was by resetting it, however it did not fix the problem and still freezes whenever i try to play a song. I have even restored it to factory setting and it does the exact same thing. I don't understand why it does this, does anyone know why it freezes and won't stop? i don't have any warrenty on it and want to know if it is fixable, because it just randomly started freezing when trying to play music. If any one knows why it would be appriacted to know.

Does this happen with any song or video you play?  If so, then my best guess would be a hardware issue since a restore to factory settings did not resolve it.

The manual does not show that feature natively for the iPod. Later iPhones and iPads have that feature natively.
