Hello,
I already have a ipod video and also bought a ipod nano for my wife. Is it posssible to use Itunes (7.3.1.3) for 2 different ipod devices?
We use a different account on our computer, using Vista.
Thanks!

Hi Snaske,
Yes, it's possible to manage multiple iPods through one computer.

    Keep in mind that you can't drag and drop (transfer) songs from one iPod to another using iTunes either.  The music you want to add from one iPod to the other, must be stored in your iTunes library first.

  • Want to add Video and Graphic Card to my computer system

    I Notice that one of the users' in the Apple discussion Board is Listed, (AndyO) he has help me many times in the Past and was succesful in my problrm solution, would he might be able to help me with this?
    I had Purchased the Game Spore Creature Creator the Starter Kit which is just the Creature creator game and not the actual game itself. I wasn't able to install the the game on my computer because I don't have the right or not at all Video and Graphic Card install on my computer. I had Contacted the Company "EA" that puts out the Game Spore, this is what they said what the game requirements are: The minimum system requirements for Spore and Spore the Galactic Edition for Mac are as follows:
    * Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
    * Intel Core Duo Processor
    * 1024 MB RAM
    * At least 345 MB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for created creatures. (260 MB for the Trial Edition)
    * Video Card - ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
    This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems (PowerMac).
    For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least: an Intel Integrated Chipset GMA X3100 or Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
    Supported Video Cards
    ATI Radeon(TM) series
    * X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600
    NVIDIA GeForce series
    * 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800
    Intel(R) Extreme Graphics
    * GMA X3100
    and that I need to upgrade my system. Basically I need; ATI Radeon 1600 or NVIDIA Geforce 7300 and a INTEL Extreme Graphic Video Card-GMA X3100, in order to be able to install and play this game. Since I already have this game, I would like to be able to upgrade my computer system which brings me to ask; does somone know or refer me to a web site that has and sells these Video and Graphic Card and supports for the Mini Mac?
    Plus they say that I need a 1020 of MB of Ram, I Have already found that 1024 MB of Ram but I just need those Video and Graphic Cards for my computer system. I am adding my computer system Profile to my discussion board to show you what I have on my system, would you be able to tell me if I would be able to add these Video and Graphic card and the memory or Ram 1024 to my computer system?
    Note: Here is a web site that I am looking at to add the 1024 MB of Ram to my computer system:

    Hi Trisha,
    The only modern Mac's with video cards are the Mac Pro and Xserve (server) systems. They both are priced quite a bit higher than any Mac Mini.
    Some systems, like the Mac Book Pro laptop can be ordered with different graphics cards, but that has be done when the system is built, as it is not replaceable once the system is built. To find out which systems, go to store.apple.com. For each system that you select, you can see if there's an option for a better video card.

    It might not hurt to Google for more.
    Keep in mind that these pics are no longer in their original size and resolution, but instead are now scaled down thumbnail versions of the original, optimized to fit on your iPod's display.

  • When i connect my ipod nano to my computer it does not light up and i get a message saying the usb devive has malfunctioned

    I need some help here as I believe my ipod nano has crashed or something is terribly wrong. When I plug in the usb to my laptop I get a message saying the usb device has malfunctioned. My ipod does not light up. I have tried powering it on manually and nothing works. Help, this is going to ruin my workouts!!!

    I'm not sure what the glitch was, but after I posted the problem, I called Apple and got a rep to walk me through some troubleshooting tips such as holding down the nano power button while plugging in the usb cable....nothing worked. Eventually, they scheduled a maintenance /replacement service.
    I got the box yesterday and was about to put it in for shipping to Apple, when I decided to try connecting it to my laptop one last time. Viola! it started back up again and is currenting syncing as I type. Guess it was just a bad glitch of some sort. Anyone with a similar issue, perhaps you may want to wait a few days and see if it solves the issue.I hope this helps.

  • HELP ipod nano 4g vs computer softwear issue??

    Please HELP?
    I have brought a ipod nano 4g,totally new to it,my son down loads itunes for me but uses his apple iphone..so i plug in the nano a day later but my computer thinks the nano is a usb storage device and itunes dont even know its there,being new to apple im clue less on how to use it,the nano its self plays the 2 songs that came on it and the video and appears to work fine,any help would be greatfull,oh i reset the nano that didnt change any thing,i also deleted and re installed itunes too but when reinstalled it come up with my sons settings.

    I only have one other iPod, my G1 Shuffle. So, as for what else to do, I am at a loss. I would try to update the iPod's firmware, but I need a broadband connection to the web to do it, which I don't have.
    Can you still explain why there would be a distinctive difference in the quality of the sound between the two stereos, vs. just using the 1/8" earphone connection with the line-in on the back of each stereo (or with a pair of speakers)? I could just use my folding speakers, (since I can adjust volume and everything else entirely from the iPod)... but that sort of defeats the reason why I have docks in the first place.

  • Two IPod Nanos On One Computer..HELP

    My son has an IPod Nano and has all his songs on my computer, he received free songs when we first hooked it up to ITunes.
    Problem, my daughter now has the same IPod and is using my computer to get her music as well. When we first hooked hers up, she did not receive free music like my son did even though hers is registered too. How does she get the free music and how do we get it so she has her own music list? They do not like the same music and it is trying to put my son's music on hers.
    Please someone help.

  • New iPod nano chromatic crashes computer

    I have an iMac version 10.4.11. My daughter just bought a new iPod nano chromatic and whenever we try to use it on that computer, it crashes and a window pops up demanding a mandatory restart. There was no way to even register the iPod and it never showed up in the iTunes library. My son has a first generation nano and my wife has the next generation of nano that came with the computer when we bought it, and both work fine. We returned the iPod nano chromatic and bought a new one, thinking it was a faulty iPod, but the second iPod caused the same problem. We tried the new one on my MacBook Pro 10.5.something new-generation laptop and it showed up and we registered it. When we tried the iPod again on the home computer and it still crashes it. We cannot use the iPod on my laptop because it belongs to my employer and if they need it back sometime, then the iPod ill be useless. So does anyone have a good answer besides "buy a new iMac?"

    We did solve this problem by connecting the ipod charger directly into the computer instead of through the usb hub (which is a usb 2.0 so I don't know why that would be a problem and none of our other ipods have a problem connecting through the hub). A real hassle as the computer has only three usb slots (are you listening Apple?!). We had used the hub to hook up everything (camera, ipods, SD card reader) -- but kept the keyboard and mouse and the hub directly connected to the computer. Now we have the mouse on the hub instead to make room for the ipod on the computer usb. So far, so good, but it would make things much easier if the iMac would have more built in usb slots on the back.

  • Is there a way to charge my Ipod Nano on my computer without turning off?

    Trying to find out correctly if I had to put in sleep or hibernate. Just a first time user of Apple Products. Not rushing by the way, but if anyone can respond ASAP right away that's fine, because I'm tired by the way and I don't want to kind of mess up my Ipod Nano w/ watchband.

    Just connect it, doesn't matter if it is off or on. But make sure your computer does not go to sleep because it will shut off charging and may actually drain the battery of the Nano.

  • Connecting 2 Ipod Nanos to One computer

    my boyfriend and I both have ipod nanos and want to connect them to one computer. We have setup one of the nanos and it works perfectly, but the second one won't connect and won't be recognized by itunes. What do we need to do so we can connect both ipods to same computer?

    There are 2 different issues here
    One iPod Nano won't be recognized by iTunes
    In most case, the reason behind is caused by the PC, since you get one iPod recognized, so clearly is the problem of your Nano, please do a Reset see if it helps
    Press "select"+"Menu" keys until you see the apple logo

  • Songs won't load into ipod nano from new computer.

    Load itunes library from old computer.  Installed iTunes& authorized new computer.  iTunes recognizes my iPod nano (4th generation), but won't load songs when synchronizing.
    Any suggestions on how to fix?

    I am having a similar problem. I recent reset my iPod as some songs were just skipping during play (they showed on the screen but after a second would just skip to next song), and have been trying to re-sync with no success. I have over 8,000 songs and when I attempt to update songs iTunes puts about 100 or so songs on then stops and states all songs have been updated. When I select update again it adds another 100 or so. Counting to 8,000 is going to take a while!! Don't know what to do...iTunes 5.0.1.4 9/23/2005 firmware. HELP!

  • Using two iPod Nanos on one computer

    I just bought my husband an iPod Nano identical to mine (2Gb) but when I connect it to the computer, the setup assistant does not appear. When I go into device manager, it shows iPod and a question mark with an exclamation point superimposed. Any idea what to do to get the computer to recognize this second iPod?
    Thanks
    iPod Nano   Windows XP   Vaio

    We have two identical ipods and also have different
    music tastes, so when I download music onto one it
    goes onto the other and I have to end up deleting
    every thing and start again. Is there an easier way
    of doing this.
    Set them to "manually manage music".

  • How can I put my music from my iPod nano onto my computer?

    I bought an iPod nano 7th generation and all was well until my pc died. I quickly rebacked it up onto an external hard drive and only got about an eighth of my music left. FOrtuneately, my iPod has got all of my music on there!
    I'm using someone elses laptop at the moment, which only has a fraction of my music at the moment, and I wondered if it was possible if I could transfer my music from my iPod onto this new laptop, temporarily.
    I figured it would be an everyday thing Apple offered to its customers, but I suppose there might be some poxy copyright laws of something silly like that.
    I'm running Windows 7 at the mo.

    Do this first:
    iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    Then after that is done, you can transfer your other songs from your iPod to your new computer.
