IPod video/audio help

I would like to know why my iPod video doesn't have any audio when I play videos. I use the itunes converter to transfer the video but the audio just doesnt work. Can someone help me please and let me know how do deal with the problem?

The language and subtiles have to be changed to match the video you are downloading. I use IVideoToGo and it has that option under properties. You have to change the language to "English" and the Subtitles to "English" or whatever language is indicated on the case of the movie. You have to do it for each movie manually because it is defaulted to "none".

  • Converting TV shows for iPod Video - Please help!

I have been trying all week to get one single tv show on my iPod, but I have had no success. I have been using Quicktime Pro with the iPod video export settings which takes forever, but every time the video is finished, it plays in iTunes with no sound. I have called tech support several times and they offered advice like, "Try using Divx to convert it into a .mov," but it never works. The types of files I am trying to convert are mpeg1 & 2, and .avi (downloaded files from p2p) but like I said, no success. If anyone can offer some straightforward advice about other programs to use, or what I may be doing wrong, it would be extremely helpful. I am using a brand new iBook G4. I understand you can use Handbrake to convert DVD's, but most of my files are tv shows, and would like to have some Simpsons or Family Guy in my iPod. Currently, I am waiting for Quicktime to convert three more mpeg files into the iPod format, and if it doesn't work, I will stop trying completely and stick to only movies, I guess. Oh, by the way, I have tried using iMovie to import files and it also experiences the same issues as Quicktime after it is added - no sound! Thanks again guys, I really appreciate your responses.

QuickTime Pro will not transcode any form of muxed MPEG file correctly on its own.
Forty-TwoDVD-VXPlus ($14.99) will convert MPEG1 but not sure about MPEG2 and M2/AC3 VOBs.
MPEG2QT ($15) and MPEG2 Works 4 ($25) will convert MPEG1/2 and M2/AC3 VOBs. With regard to AVI files there are more than one type. If QT Pro won't handle them then you need to check DivX and/or 3ivX modules. However, as far as I know, DivX are still trying get their QT 7 component to work with DivX v5.x and the v6 has yet to be released.
Tried PSPWare v2.1.4 in free, unregistered mode and it converted MPEG1 files without a problem. But all of my other, more common test file types failed to convert.
Also tried MPEG StreamClip (free) which some users claimed worked fine. It kept cutting off the audio before reaching the end of the video in the target files (w/MPEG4 settings).

  • IPod video & audio not syncronizing...

    Hi there,
I bought my new iPod video 30GB from US recently and I have problem when I convert and upload video song to ipod. When I play the video song, the video and audio doesnt match/syncronize (i.e; audio sound can be heard after 2-3 seconds when the video song is played)
Please can anyone help me how do I solve this? I have been using professional version of Quick time player to convert the video songs.
    Waiting for your reply soon...
    Thanks
Compaq Presario   Windows XP   iPod 30GB video

Not sure where you got this video that you converted, but Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly, and this may be the issue.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
Videora is one, and there are others.

  • IPod Video/Audio problems

i have a 60gb video ipod and have converted seinfeld episodes off dvds. i used videora ipod converter to convert the video to H264 256kbps video and 96kbps audio. When i play any episode the video and audio will work for about 30 seconds, then it pauses fills the cache and the video starts playing again but without audio. if i fastforward or rewind the video and audio pick up again for 30 seconds until the process repeats. how do i fix this ANNOYING problem? thanks
      Windows XP Pro

I have just encountered the very same problem. I have a 60Gb iPod video and have spent days converting a lot of my videos (mostly Japanese Anime) to iPod. They all worked perfectly on last week. However, last night I started watching an episode and after about 30 seconds the video freezes. It starts again about 5 seconds later, but with no sound. If I rewind or fast forward a bit, the sound comes back, but it freezes again shortly after. I started to think "what have I done to the iPod since last week?". It was then that I remembered updating the firmware to 1.1. I put 2 and 2 together and thought "maybe other folk are having this problem too", so I decided to check the support page here.
I am far from happy about re-encoding over 250 episodes of Anime, so ideally, I want the ability to re-install 1.0 firmware on the iPod. Surely this must be possible! If anyone can provide a link to the 1.0 Updater or to more information on this subject... that would be great, cos right now, my iPod is pretty much... useless!

  • IPod video audio plug,

    Hey there,
So after having used my iPod video 30GB from the first generation video's for 10 months I found a problem.
Since 3 days I use a Senheiser HD555 which gives me fabulous sounds, but since today it seems like the audio in on the iPod moved a bit, so none of my headphone's can connect succesfully anymore.
(Senheiser PX30 and normal apple earphone's)
I can hear sound from the left speaker on the earphone's, and the right if I push down the plug from the earphone a bit, or move it to the left, right whatever.
But it cant stay fit in the plug in so I can't hear stereo sound.
It seems very clear to me that the audio plufg in either moved a bit, or more likely sunk down a bit in the iPod.
My question is, How often does this happen? And how could it be fixed? Can Apple or even myself make it?
I have no idea how it happend, I came back from fitness listening music, I wanted to walk to the supermarket with my iPod on and I heared the problem.
All it did was giving itself power in the iPod dock.
    Kind Regards,
    Jim Brands.

  • Music fails to copy to iPod Video - Urgent help needed!

Recently i done a stupid thing with my iPod, i done a defrag on it using windows utility. Though i have done it before, no problems. I have though just been told that its a bad thing to do.
After that, itunes did not recognise my ipod (iPod Video), i then restored it using V1.11 firmware, then went onto iTunes to upload all my music, it goes so far (say the first 300 out of 4550 or a number below 300) then stays on random track, then the iPod disconnects. Since then i have used previous versions of the firmware (1.0, 1.1), still does the same thing.
Can anyone help, cause i now live in spain (europe), since moved from scotland. It would be a pain to send it back if its not bust.
Oh yea, my music is all stored on a external western digital HD, connection is a 2.0 USB. Had it for 6 months or so and had no problems with it so far.

Generation 1 vs generation 2 has zero impact on using Enhanced Session Mode to copy files in and out.
Under the hood, Enhanced Session Mode uses RDP.  So, the RDP stars must align for the file copy to work.  This can be impacted by group policy, improper RDP settings, the VM not being Windows 8.1 or Server 2012 R2 or higher.

    all other things were identical.
i removed that VM & created new one, since there was no solution to that. maybe a bug.

  • IPod video 80gb help??

I just got a new iPod video 80gb for Christmas.
But when i plug it into my PC, it won't start syncing.
All i get i message from iTunes saying something like: The software required for communication with the iPod-unit is not properly installed. Install iTunes again to install the iPod-software. (Bad translation from norwegiean to english, but it's something like that).
And well, i have installed iTunes again (two times) but the same error just keeps showing up.
I've tried to use a different cable, different USB port, and so on, but nothing works.
I do got a iPod mini 4gb that was syncing just great with iTunes, but when i got my new one, after installing iTunes again, even my iPod mini won't sync.
So do anyone know what i should do? That message is all i get, and I've heard with other that it is supposed to come up some questions and stuff the first time you plug the iPod in, but I haven't even seen that.
So if anyone got some suggestions for what to do. I will be grateful.
    Sorry my bad english btw:p

  • Ipod video volume help!

when I convert videos the volume stops working
is it because these arnt bought from itunes store?
    help!
    xxx

No, it's probably because they are "muxed".
Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (which iTunes uses) don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

  • MPEG4 iPod Video..HELP

I downloaded the torrent for a video and it is in MPEG4 video fomat. How do I transfer this file to my iPod..or do I have to change the format somehow?

how can I tell if it is AAC?
Open the file in the QT Player. Open the "Show Movie Info" window and check to "Format:" entry information -- Audio and vidio compression encoder, audio samplin grate. Also note the combined total aveage data rate as this may give som indication as to whether or not it exceeds the capabilities of the iPod player. Also, if your check the "Movie Properties" window (may need QT Pro here), you can tell if the movie was created specifically for streaming. (I.e., containe hinted audio/video tracks.) In any case, if it is not compliant, you won't find it on your iPod.

  • Ipod video transfer help!!

Hello i have videos already on itunes in the library, and a playlist. it will not update to the new 5G 30 gb ipod... im trying desperatley to find a way to make it work and getting no luck. someone please help me asap please!! thanks katy

The iTunes browser will play your video even though it isn't formatted properly for your iPod. You must open your video in Quicktime, then choose: File>Export...then make sure you save Movie to iPod(320x240)
I have Quicktime Pro, I don't know if this option is available to you. I'm sure iMovie has a similar option if these are home movies you are working with.

  • 30 GB Ipod Video audio problems

I have had my 30 gb Ipod since Christmas 2005 and a couple of weeks ago it started acting funny. I started getting alot of static in my headphones at first and, then starting yesterday I get no sound at all. I have tried several pairs of headphones and still no sound. I have also tried playing my ipod in my ihome alarm clock dock and still get no sound. I even restored my Ipod but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Looks like it may be an issue that requires service.

  • Please HELP, "iTunes has stopped working" error after connecting iPod video

People please help me out!  I have a Razer Blade gaming laptop with Windows 8 64bit.
I have an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and an iPod video (80GB).  I had some weeks from not connecting the iPod to my computer, but this morning that I did so I can upload some new music to it, iTunes just crash, I get the "iTunes has stopped working" error message when I connect the iPod video.  I do not have this problem with either the iPhone 5 or the iPad 2, when I connect these, iTunes works fine, once I connect the iPod, then all goes down
Procedures that I already tried and that were unsuccessful to solve the problem:
    Uninstall Quicktime
    Uninstall iTunes and reinstall
    Reset the iPod (several times)
    Delete TEMP files on computer
    Restart the computer (several times)
Use a different cable and a different USB port
The iPod is working fine, if I plug it to my car stereo or if I use it with headphones it works great, no problems nor errors.  My computer also identify the iPod as a hard disk, no error messages from Windows, it is just the freakin' iTunes that freezes everytime that I plug the iPod
PLEASE HELP ME OUT, I've searched forums on this particular issue but with no luck.
    Thanks very much!

It is only when I attempt to add a song to my iPod once plugged in that I receive the error "Itunes has stopped working" and forces me to exit the program, without the song being successfully transferred.
Do you have the "Convert to 128 kbps AAC" preference enabled for syncing to the iPod, laur?
If so, it's quite plausible that you've got the iTunes 10.1.0.54 bug and we need to get you updated to 10.0.1.56 as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]
