IPod video audio plug,

Hey there,
So after having used my iPod video 30GB from the first generation video's for 10 months I found a problem.
Since 3 days I use a Senheiser HD555 which gives me fabulous sounds, but since today it seems like the audio in on the iPod moved a bit, so none of my headphone's can connect succesfully anymore.
(Senheiser PX30 and normal apple earphone's)
I can hear sound from the left speaker on the earphone's, and the right if I push down the plug from the earphone a bit, or move it to the left, right whatever.
But it cant stay fit in the plug in so I can't hear stereo sound.
It seems very clear to me that the audio plufg in either moved a bit, or more likely sunk down a bit in the iPod.
My question is, How often does this happen? And how could it be fixed? Can Apple or even myself make it?
I have no idea how it happend, I came back from fitness listening music, I wanted to walk to the supermarket with my iPod on and I heared the problem.
All it did was giving itself power in the iPod dock.
Kind Regards,
Jim Brands.

They are built into the seat connections. You don't need to purchase an adapter. You get one to use when you board.

  • IPod Video/Audio problems

i have a 60gb video ipod and have converted seinfeld episodes off dvds. i used videora ipod converter to convert the video to H264 256kbps video and 96kbps audio. When i play any episode the video and audio will work for about 30 seconds, then it pauses fills the cache and the video starts playing again but without audio. if i fastforward or rewind the video and audio pick up again for 30 seconds until the process repeats. how do i fix this ANNOYING problem? thanks
      Windows XP Pro

I have just encountered the very same problem. I have a 60Gb iPod video and have spent days converting a lot of my videos (mostly Japanese Anime) to iPod. They all worked perfectly on last week. However, last night I started watching an episode and after about 30 seconds the video freezes. It starts again about 5 seconds later, but with no sound. If I rewind or fast forward a bit, the sound comes back, but it freezes again shortly after. I started to think "what have I done to the iPod since last week?". It was then that I remembered updating the firmware to 1.1. I put 2 and 2 together and thought "maybe other folk are having this problem too", so I decided to check the support page here.
I am far from happy about re-encoding over 250 episodes of Anime, so ideally, I want the ability to re-install 1.0 firmware on the iPod. Surely this must be possible! If anyone can provide a link to the 1.0 Updater or to more information on this subject... that would be great, cos right now, my iPod is pretty much... useless!
    Thanks

  • IPod video & audio not syncronizing...

    Hi there,
I bought my new iPod video 30GB from US recently and I have problem when I convert and upload video song to ipod. When I play the video song, the video and audio doesnt match/syncronize (i.e; audio sound can be heard after 2-3 seconds when the video song is played)
Please can anyone help me how do I solve this? I have been using professional version of Quick time player to convert the video songs.
    Waiting for your reply soon...
    Thanks

Not sure where you got this video that you converted, but Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly, and this may be the issue.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
Videora is one, and there are others.

I suspect you will get better replies if you post your question on a more appropriate discussion. This one deals with connecting to windows issues for pre-5th gen (i.e. pre-video) iPods.

  • IPod video/audio help

I would like to know why my iPod video doesn't have any audio when I play videos. I use the itunes converter to transfer the video but the audio just doesnt work. Can someone help me please and let me know how do deal with the problem?

The language and subtiles have to be changed to match the video you are downloading. I use IVideoToGo and it has that option under properties. You have to change the language to "English" and the Subtitles to "English" or whatever language is indicated on the case of the movie. You have to do it for each movie manually because it is defaulted to "none".

  • 30 GB Ipod Video audio problems

I have had my 30 gb Ipod since Christmas 2005 and a couple of weeks ago it started acting funny. I started getting alot of static in my headphones at first and, then starting yesterday I get no sound at all. I have tried several pairs of headphones and still no sound. I have also tried playing my ipod in my ihome alarm clock dock and still get no sound. I even restored my Ipod but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Looks like it may be an issue that requires service.
You can arrange online service here.

Or if an Apple store is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • IPod Video out of sync with audio.

    Hey guys.
I recently purchased a video ipod and was looking for ways to convert my videos & DVD's to work on my ipod.
    So far I've done
    cucusoft
    psp9
    videora
    pqdvd
    pocketdvix
quicktime (freezes up on my pc, and takes ages to convert)
and i've yet to find any way of stopping the audio and video from being out of sync (by anything from half a second to about 7 seconds) with one an other...
is there a program or technique I could use that will enable me to watch video that is in sync with the audio?
on a footnote, the quicktime does work but regulalarly shuts down on my computer and takes WAY too long to convert.
Please help me out here guys as I am reaching the end of my tether.
    Thanks.
    /\Ben/\

hi -- i've tried nearly all the programs you have, and have finally gotten the pq dvd to ipod video converter to work out of all of them. btw, the xilisoft one does NOT work, and i'm trying to get my money back from them, so buyer beware!
anyway, i found the issue to be the frame rate -- on movies, i was able to use 30fps successfully (worked for star wars, for example), but on native tv show dvd's (such as sex and the city) i had to use 24fps.
see if that works for you.

  • IPod Video 80GB shows "Low Battery, Please Wait" but when plugged into wall, works fine.

I have an iPod Video 80GB and it worked perfectly fine until now....when it is plugged into my computer (all ports attempted), it shows "Low Battery, Please Wait" and then when I plug it into the wall, it reboots, shows the normal silver apple, and everything is all fine. The iPod is dependent off of a power source, as it cannot function right now without one.

That's usually a good indication that the iPod's battery is shot an in need of a replacement especially considering it's from an iPod Video, which have been out for a number of years now.  You can pay Apple to have it replaced or you can send it in to a third party repair center for a bit less.

  • IPod video - plug for charger socket

Hi! I've just bought a 30GB iPod video. My sister bought one a couple of months ago and received a free plug to put in the charger socket when it's not in use. I didn't and just wondered if this is an old thing or should I have received one?
    Many thanks!

  • IPod video problems with audio

I recently got a 30 GB iPod video. I have tried to add videos to it, but sort of unsuccesfully. Of the four videos on there, 3 don't have audio.
The only video that has video and audio is a .mov, and yet the other .mov files that I tried to put on, wouldn't even convert.
The other files are .mpg, and they converted and transfered on perfectly, except there is no audio. The video looks great, but you can't hear anything.
Has anyone else had these problems? Any advice/help is appreciated!

  • Ipod Video 80gb with click wheel has sound, but no audio

My ipod video 80gb with click wheel has sound, but no audio.  I can hear the clicking of the wheel and selections made through the headphones, but I cannot get music, video, etc. to play audio.  I did the 5 R's and installed a new headphone jack prior to posting here.  I am all out of ideas and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you connect it to an iPod Dock Stereo to check if there is music, coming out, if not the Hard Reset would solve your problem or else the Audio chip has called it a day.
I know you mentioned doing the 5Rs, but did you see the Apple Logo and the language prompt? Sorry, most of the users here, doesn't do the Hard Reset correctly.
Try the iPod Hard Reset -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON, then release the button
    Select your preferred language.
This wont delete or erase any song/data on your iPod Classic.
See this Apple Support Article on 5Rs

    Good Luck!

  • Please help with "corrupt" message when first plugging in iPod Video

When I first plug in my iPod video, iTunes launches fine, I see my device and all its contents fine, then receive a message "The iPod "JALF" cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." It does not seem to affect any functionality, but I was curious what it meant. Thanks.

  • DLO HomeDock Deluxe + iPod Video 60 GB: after Update to 1.2 no audio signal

    Please help!
I just received in these days my DLO HomeDock Deluxe and was very happy with it. Before I have had the Apple A/V-Kit and was disappointed to see no menu on the TV screen.
So the HomeDock works fine and I have been very happy with it, but only for some days.
I have installed the new iTunes 7.0 and with this comes an update for the iPod Video to system version 1.2 - and afterwards the sound output doesn´t work anymore !!!!
I have tried everything. Reset on iPod, reset on HomeDock. Various settings - NOTHING!!!
The video output works very fine, I have the menu, everything OK, but NO MUSIC.
I asked the support of DLO but no answer to my email...
Please help, no music in here :-(((

Hi, I have the Logic3 Universal Dock, using S-Video and stereo line out for Photos and Videos with sound to my TV, which works well.
BUT NO MUSIC when I want to play just music through the TV! Is this a software issue? You say you used to be able to hear music through your TV. Apple please help here! Thanks.

  • Trouble with audio when converting MPEG to iPOD Video

I am following the Quick Time Pro instructions for exporting my mpegs to iPOD video format, but when I do not get any sound. I am using Kazaa to download my mpegs. Is that the issues? I don't want to pay for videos on iTunes already formated for my 5G iPod. Can you help

QT Pro does not handle "muxed" formats (MPEG1, MPEG2, VOB, some AVI, AVI MJPEG, etc.). Use an MPEG based third party application like Videora Converter.
