IPod Video + camera connector issue

I have iPod Video 60G and recently bought camera connector to have an ability to download pictures from my camera (Sony DSC-V1) on iPod. Also I have Belkin card reader 8 in 1 (F5U248). What I have read from Apple site and other different sources both of this devices should work with camera connector. I have tried both versions of iPod software 1.0 and 1.1. Whatever I have tried gives me on iPod only one message: "ready to connect" and nothing happens after that. It seems like there is no identification if anything connected to iPod at all. I may asume that this is a hardware problem from iPod side. iPod even does not try to initiate download. Did anyone see such kind a behaviour? Appriciate any information.

Photo Transfer Problem From Minox Dcc M3 to Ipod via Camera Connector

I have a minox Dcc M3 digital camera,and i recently purchased a 5th generation ipod with the intention of downloading images from my minox camera direct to the ipod, so that i could delete the images from my camera and carry on taking more pictures without having to carry my laptop around with me, The camera only has a 32mb built in flash memory and will not download direct to the ipod via an ipod camera connector,I have tried other cameras that only have built in flash memory and none of them will download direct to the ipod, Has anyone out there come across this problem before,according to apple the ipod supports the following image transfer protocols:- PTP
Type 4 (or Normal)and Mass Storage.Could anyone tell me if there is any firmware update for the ipod or camera that would make the ipod compatible with the cameras flash memory and allow me to download my images to my ipod.

I don`t think there is an option to turn on or off any transfer protocols,on connecting the camera to windows xp it connects staight away and viewing/downloading photos is no problem,it works the same as my other camera no problem.I have followed apples procedure of connecting (ie:-turn on ipod/connect camera connector/turn on camera and connect usb cable) the camera then shuts off immediately,i can turn it on again but all i get from the ipod is the message "ready to connect".It seems to me that the ipod does not even know the camera is connected?,looks like maybe this camera is not compatible with ipod,but i cannot help but think that other camera makes with built in memory would suffer from the problem.

Ipod Camera Connector Issues. Photos not showing up in disk mode

I have a 60gig black iPod video and I successfully uploaded pictures via the photo connector from my Rebel XT.
The problem is, the first ten rolls show up fine, both in viewing on the iPod as well as in disk mode. Rolls 11-16 show up via the import photos screen on the iPod, and I can view the pictures, but there isn't even a folder for them in disk mode.
Any suggestions?

Ipod classic+camera connector

sono veramente deluso e amareggiato nonché inc.... poiché avendo comprato insieme all'IPod Classic da 80 GB la camera connector ho scoperto che quest'ultima non funziona, mentre è perfettamente compatibile con il vecchio IPOD video da 30 gb oltretutto ormai fuori commercio. Sperando che sia solo una questione di aggiornamento del software attendo fiducioso

Spiacente, ma il connettore della macchina fotografica non è compatibile con il classico del iPod, né abbia loro stato tutti gli aggiornamenti di software per farli così.

Camera Connector issues.

I just bought the camera connector for my G5 30gb Ipod. I am trying to connect with my card reader (sanDisk ImageMate 8 in 1), However, I'm getting the message "unsupported device". So I assume my card reader is not compatible. Can anyone suggest a card reader they know is compatible?
I am weary of connecting directly to my camera in fear of causing damage to my camera. I am using a canon DSLR and it would suck to have to damage caused to it.
Anyway suggestions would be a great help.
Also.. I do have the latest update , version 1.1.2

Any ideas???

Video camera button issues on iphone4 after iOS5 upgrade

I have upgraded to iOS5 on my 1 year-old iphone4. I have a problem with the video camera function - it doesnt work anymore when accesed from the camera app icon:
When I tap on the camera app icon I can access the camera screen. On the camera screen, when the slider above the red button is set to the camera icon, both the red button and the volume-up button activate the shutter and a photograph is taken. However, when the slider is set to the camera icon, the screen freezes when either the red button or volume-up button is pressed to start recording.
However, when the phone is locked and the home button is pressed twice to access the camera screen, both the still-camera and the video-camera function normally using either the red button or the volume-up button,
This has all the appearence of and seems to me as though it is a bug in the iOS5 software
has anyone else observed this problem with the video-camera function?
Can Apple offer advice on how (and when) this will be fixed please?

I have noticed that the camera has seemed slower on the iOS 5 updates. I usually just shut it off then turn it back on and use the quick camera as opposed to exiting the app I'm on and going to the home screen and opening it up.

IPod touch Camera Roll Issue

Hello. I turned on my iPod today and found the Photos app no longer there. Is there any app you know of that can view and edit the camera roll on my iPod?

When recording video on iPod touch it seems to stop at about 50 minutes despite having more memory available. Is there any way to increase recording time for a single event?

IPod Video 30gig - firmware issues?

I have been given a 5th gen 30 gig video ipod be a friend to try and fix....
When i turn the ipod on it comes up in recovery mode and i have to restore it.
It goes through the restore process and begins to restart but then comes up with the same 'recovery mode' message.
The odd thing is that the ipod can still be used as an external harddrive with no problems, which is why i am presuming that it may have something wrong with the firmware.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry, that's my fault. I wasn't paying enough attention to the fact you were'nt a Windows user. Try this.
1. Connect the iPod and open the disk utility and highlight it (the iPod).
2. Go to the “Partition” tab, click either “Delete” or “Partition”. If that fails, skip this step and go to 3.
3. Go to the “Erase” tab and choose the volume format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click "erase". If that doesn't work skip it and go to step 4.
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before you click "Erase." It will probably take an hour or so to complete.
5. Eject the iPod and reset it.
6. Re-connect it and try the restore again.

well i stopped here and there for about 10 min at a time just when i got frustrated with the map i was driving down to florida which is about 20 hours from here, lasted almost the whole way
the video i tested the other day and lasted for about 3 1/2 hours playing non stop
tried to watch both the kill bills. then it cut out, it charges up fast though

IPod video camera iPod question? Earphones

Recently , I broke my right earphones and the left one lasted me for about two months .
Today , I was listening to my iPod and the song stopped and played again .
When I twisted the earphones , the song would stop and stuff .
I searched Apple's stores and only found the earphone speakers with remote or something and I don't want those . I want the original ones you get when you buy a new iPod . Any chance of finding them where I live ? [Calgary]
Or is there another brand of earphones that works as well as the Apple original earphones ?

Did you ask the store clerk if they had any for the 5th gen iPod Nanos? They could have some in the stock room & not on display yet.

Video Camera Color issues???

Any one elese having color issues. Mine seems to be on the yellow side. The picture looks great but the color isnt. Not sure if this is problem or not.

This is a known issue under incandescent lighting. I had 3 Iphone 4s (2 replacements after the original) and all 3 exhibited the same very yellow/orange coloring under this type of room lighting.
It's a white balance issue and one that I would think could be fixed easily with a software patch.

Ipod Camera Connector works fine with Panasonic DMC - FZ20

Just bought the Ipod Digital Camera Connector for my new Panasonic DMC-FZ20 camera and it works like a charm. The 5 megapixel photos download fairly fast. The camera take superb photos and when I go to the Ukraine again this summer, I plan to utilize the photo storage capcity of the Ipod to the fullest.

I already own an iPod Nano which I use to listen to music on. I purchased this 30GB Video iPod specifically for storing pictures on in the field while I am shooting, so that I don't have to cart my PowerBook around with me.
I was initially looking at the Epson device that would do this for me, but the fella at the camera store (knowing I was a Mac nut) said "you know, you can do the same thing with an iPod and this connector thingy.
Well ... apparently you can't do exactly the same thing

60GB iPod video battery issue?

My 60GB iPod video has an issue where as soon as I remove it from its charger (plugged into an outlet), it says it does not have enough power to keep running and it shuts down. It gives off a very faint smell like something was burning from the inside, but I wouldn't have noticed it if it I hadn't lifted it up and looked at it very closely. I've been charging it for about four days now, and occasionally I would pull it out to see if it was still having the same issue. Sure enough it was, and strangely, when I plugged it back in, all of the settings would be reset (namely the time would refer back to 12:00AM). All of my files are still there, but when I plugged it into the computer, it would give the little loading circle and say "Please wait. Very low batter." The computer reads the device but not even as a hard drive (which I set it too).
Maybe the battery needs to be replaced? How do I know I can salvage my iPod?
*Note: I haven't had the iPod for a while. It was a gift from a friend and it seems like it was pretty used to begin with. I'd give it about two to three years since it was bought. The warranty is WAY over by the way

Yeah, an iPod is basically a small computer, with a locked down OS. If you want, my company www.dr-pod.com can replace this for you quite cheaply.

Camera connector- works from the start?

I am thinking of upgrading to a new 30gb video ipod while on holiday in the states (assuming a US Ipod will be compatible with PC, power etc??). Partly this is because I can justify the cost by using the camera connector and saving on compact flash cards.
As I wont have access to a computer while there I need to be able to use the Ipod and camera connector off the shelf as I wont be able to download any updates to it. Does anyone know if this will work?
