Ipod video files deleted

Hi,
I have few mpg files, and I converted to mp4 using Nero and imported in itunes and got them into ipod video, and i could able to play, everything is fine,
a day later, videos stopped playing but i can hear only music from them (and that too with some sort of noise) and then videos got deleted from the ipod.
I tried to connect throug itunes again and upload videos, but videos are not uploading.
can anyone help?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You may want to restore your iPod and start reloading everything and see if the videos come on.

  • Ipod 5g video files delet by them self can anyone help out?

Alright i have a question here i don't know if this is suppost to happen or not that's why I'm asking the experts here. We'll after i load the video i want onto my ipod video i delet it. Because i do not have enuf space on my hard drive so i keep it just on my ipod but now to my great surprise.
When i delet the video from my computer and my ipod goes to update the new videos it decides it doesn't need to keep the old files i put on there. That's ********. So does this mean i have to keep video files on my ipod and harddrive for them to work?

Daniel, although I would recommend a Mac too, you certainly don't need to get a Mac to have iTunes work the way you want it to :
In your iTunes Preferences, under the iPod section, you have to disable Video automatic syncing (or whatever it's called) just like you would with music if you wanted to manually sync it. Then you have to drag videos from the Video library to your iPod's icon in iTunes, manually. This way they should remain on your iPod even after they are deleted.
I would recommend that you get an external USB 2.0 Hard Drive of greater capacity than your iPod, they are getting less and less expensive nowadays, and storing all your stuff on your iPod, without a backup, is fairly unreliable ...

  • HOW DO I RECOVER A WEBCAM VIDEO FILE DELETED BY ACCIDENT?

HOW DO I RECOVER A WEBCAM VIDEO FILE DELETED BY ACCIDENT? I RECENTLY PURCHASED  SATELLITE  L775D-S7340 RECORDED MOTHERS BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH WEBCAM MORE THAN ONE HOUR WHEN I WAS DONE I CLICKED STOP REC BUTTON IN MENU IT FLASHED IN RED E.G. 1:00:05 THREE TIMES BUT VIDEO WAS NOT IN ALBLUM? You can recover deleted video files from webcam with webcam recovery software, take a look at this guide:
     webcam data recovery
Take note that you'd better stop using the webcam before you get back deleted files.

  • Video files delete and resynch EVERY time

Previously my iTunes left the files in my iPod alone and only synched new files. The last several times I've plugged my iPod into my computer, it deletes all of my video files and resynchs them. I don't have 2 hours every time i want to add 2 files to my iPod.

    Hi Chloe E,
Did you use custom slow/fast motion in your video? There is a bug in iMovie '09 that can cause strange audio problems when using custom slow/fast motion. This has been experienced by many users. See for example this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9152271
There are some workarounds, being the easiest one to only use what the slow motion slider snaps to instead of entering custom speed percentages.
Apart from that I'm not aware of any audio problems as you describe them.

  • MPEG-3 video files won't play in iPod

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with a few of my iPod video files. They play fine in iTunes when my iPod is connected, but only the audio plays on the iPod itself. They all used to have the TV icon next to their titles, but now they don't anymore. I would reload the files, except that I mistakenly deleted them from my iTunes library. Any advice?
Fifth Generation iPod w/ Video   Windows XP Pro

You know, I misspoke when I typed MPEG-3. They're MP4 video files. I actually purchased a couple of them off of the iTunes music store. They only show up under the Music category of my iPod. Any other suggestions?

  • Restoring lost video files from iPod Classic

I was recently trying to move my Video Files (last three seasons of Cops all downloaded from Itunes) to a different location on my computer. To put a long story short they somehow disappeared and I’m not sure how. I have searched my hard drive and I didn’t even have them in my recycle bin.
Fortunatly I still have them on my iPod Classic (160 GB) and I’m trying to figure out how to recover them from it, but I’m not sure if I have it set up to sync video files automatically or if it even works that way and I’m afraid to plug it into my computer or it might sync and delete the files.
The first thing I tried was to plug it into a different computer (already authorized) so it would upload the files downloaded then I could use an external drive to transfer the files back to my regular computer. I was able to get the most recent season uploaded, but then I got an error message saying that it couldn’t upoload some of the protected files unless my computer was authorized (even though it was). I re-authorised my computer and it still didn’t work.
I read that you can press Ctrl-Shift and hold it down while you plug your iPod in that it will prevent auto-syncing. I tried this but as soon as my iPod said “synchronizing” I unplugged it.
Does anyone know how I could pull these files from my iPod to get them back on my computer?

To prevent auto sync, before you connect the iPod go to the iTunes preferences and select "devices", then select "disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods".
Then see: How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.

  • Tried to connect my ipod to TV through USB. Can play music but the TV cant detect video files

Hi. I have an ipod nano 4th generation. I am obsessed with Doctor Who but unfortunately I do not have BBc America. I watch from itunes on my PC. I would like to sync the shows on the ipod and watch on TV. I am aware i can purchase apple's A/V cable, but i have found that my TV also has a USB port. I plugged in my ipod and four menus came up, "video" "pictures" "music" and "settings". I can play music but the Tv wont find the video files on the ipod.
    Thanks!!!!

iTunes Match on your computer can give you the same higher quality files.
Run iTunes on your computer.  Show your music library by Song in list view.  Add the columns for Bit Rate, Kind, and iCloud Status to the list view.
Any song that is shown as Matched for iCloud Status, that is NOT already 256 kbps (or higher) for Bit Rate can be downloaded from iCloud at 256 kbps AAC.  For example, if you have an old album from a music CD that you ripped years ago at 128 kbps MP3, and it is "matched" by iTunes Match, you can replace the lower quality files you have now with 256 kbps Match AAC audio file (which is shown for Kind).
To do so, select the song, or a set of songs, on the library list.  Press Delete.  Confirm you want to delete the song (but do NOT check the box to delete song from iCloud) and choose to move song file to the Trash.  The songs remain on your iTunes library list, with a "cloud" download button next to the song name.
Click that button to download the song from iCloud.  Because the song is Matched, you get the replacement as a 256 kbps AAC audio file, instead of the original 128 kbps MP3 file (or whatever lower quality format it was before).
You can go through your iTunes music library, and replace lower quality Matched songs with higher quality versions, thanks to iTunes Match.

  • How to delete video files that do not work

    Hi there,
I am frustrated. I just want to delete video files from my iTunes because they will not work on my iPod...I don't care about all the technical ****, I just want to delete the files so that when I update my iPod, they are taken away.
    Thanks for your help!
    Materialboi9

Just locate the videos you want to delete in your iTunes library and delete them, simple as that.

  • Delete video files in iPhone

Can I delete the video files in iPhone without using iTunes? If so, can you tell me how. Thanks!

For video transferred from your iTunes library, swipe across the video in the iPod to bring up the Delete button for the video.
Apple includes a Safari bookmark on the iPhone for the iPod User Guide, which can also be downloaded on your computer here.

  • Guide to ANY video file to ipod for FREE using Windows!!!!

This has taken hours upon hours of my time to figure out so you guys won't have to!
    First off go to:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
download and install this amazing program. It will convert avi's, mpeg-2,...
after installing, you CAN'T use the default settings
to output a video file that can be transfered onto
ipod EVENTHOUGH YOU CAN TO iTUNES!. So what you have
to do is go into setup and where it says "one-click
profile" change that to "SP/320x240/1500..." and then
chose a directory that you want it to output to. SAVE
now, when you go to convert make sure you click on
"one-click transcode" and chose the file(s) you want
it to convert to. to chose more then one file hold down ctrl and click on all the videos you want (it has to be in the same folder from my knowledge). when its done you'll have the orignal video on your computer as well as a mpeg-4 version (you can tell which is which, change your folder view to details and it will say under "type". drag and drop all the mpeg-4 ones into iTunes MAIN LIBRARY, NOT VIDEOS!. if you want, after its done, you can delete the original as well as the mpeg-4 files because iTunes saves it again, at least it does for me since i have a CONSILIDATED LIBRARY which means anything you put into iTunes thats not apart of its directory folder, it will make a copy of and put in its directory folder. If you don't have a consildated library you should not delete the mpeg-4 files. Edit your video files in iTunes and connect your ipod and see the magic happen. And
    that is that. ENJOY!!

The full version of Nero has a program called RECODE.
It's output displays well in the IPOD.
You can choose the quality, amount of compression, screen size, etc.
I went to the Quicktime page that shows how to do this in Quicktime and it gives the suggested screensize and bitrates to go by and set NERO to . A 2 hour movie in 300MB appears to have no major sacrifice in quality using the small screen. The video compression properties screen has a checkbox that says "simple - Quicktime compatible" that may or may not have helped, but I set it as a new default profile called IPOD.

  • ITunes 11 deletes newly added m4v and mp4 video files!

I'm really loathing the new iTunes for a number of reasons.. but this one really takes the cake!
When I try to add an M4V or MP4 video file, iTunes deletes the file and does not add it to the library!
I never had any issues with 10.7.. and seeing as there is no way of reverting back that I can find.. any help in how to solve this... or is this one of those wonder new "feature's" I now have to contend with?
    Thanks

Are you frustrated that whether you drag and drop your video files to iTunes 11, or add video files from “Add files to Libray” or “Add folder to Libray”, nothing is imported even though the files are in iTunes 11 supported MP4, MOV or M4V video format.
If iTunes 11 won’t import MP4, MOV or M4V, first make sure your install QuickTime Player. Even though you hire VLC or Perian or any other media player to take care of your video playback instead of QuickTime, you still need to install QuickTime in order to add video to iTunes 11 for transfer to iPad, iPod, iPhone or Apple TV.
f you install QuickTime player but still can’t add MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11, there is no other solution but to convert MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11 supported video MP4.
Visit the Step-by-Step Guide on how to successfully import all kinds of MP4, MOV, M4V to iTunes 11
The guide also applies to import AVI, WMV, MKV, etc to iTunes 11.

  • Sync deleted video files

I had previously synced my iPod classic with one or both of my Windows notebook computers. I went to resync to add some TV show video on one of the notebook computers to the iPod. After I was done syncing I looked and all my TV videos had been deleted from the iPod. How can a sync cause file deletion?

If the ipod is set for auto sync, it can only sync to one library ITL file.
Did you click through some message that said the iPod was synced with another library?
If you want to use your iPod with multiple PCs and not get erased, you need to set it for manual sync.
