Your Touch is working correctly. Currently, without unsupported third party hacks, the Touch has NO disc mode. It will only show up in iTunes.
how do i put programes and games in my ipod touch
Right now, you don't. The SDK is scheduled to be released in Feburary. Then developers will be able to write programs that will be loadable.

  • Ipod classic 30gb not recognized by windows 7

i have a ipod classic and i just got a dell with windows 7 but my ipod wont show up. it just charging. i just downloaded itunes 9.2 and it picked up all my music on my computer but my ipod just charges when i plug it in. Can anyone help me

I'm having the same kind of problem and haved tried pretty much everything my self. We have two computers. One with Vista and the other with XP pro. We have three iPods.
80g video, Touch first generation and touch second generation. Everything works fine with the first two, but windows cannot find the driver for the 2nd generation touch. Altough all drivers seem to be installed. The problem started with the Vista computer. I've uninstalled and re-installed everything and nothing works. Took everything on the XP computer, and the 2nd generation touch is still not recognized.
Of course I-tunes is up to date and all drivers as well.

  • IPod Touch 3G not recognized by Windows 7 (64 bit)

Like others in this forum, I can't get iTunes 9 to recognize my iTouch (3G). I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) on a brand new Dell computer. I'm not getting any error messages and my computer itself recognizes the iTouch just fine - as a CAMERA! Aside from rebooting both my machine and iTouch several times, I have also tried the suggestions included in other posts, including (1) restarting the Apple Mobile Device service, (2) a clean install of iTunes, (3) disabling all startup programs to identify any incompatibilities (there weren't any), and (4) verifying that I had the correct iPod drivers installed (I did). None of these things worked; however, I will add that I was not able to completely get rid of the AMD when I did the clean install. I un-installed everything in the order prescribed by Apple through the Control Panel, but that pesky AMD wouldn't go away. I tried rebooting and it still wouldn't go away. I don't know if getting rid of AMD would solve the underlying problem (i.e., that I can't get iTunes to recognize my iTouch), so I don't want to get too distracted by that. However, I'm getting desperate after spending HOURS on this and would grealy appreciate help. Note also that my iPod nano works just fine and is recognized by iTunes without a problem.

  • My 4th gen ipod touch and my 6th gen ipod touch is not recognized by windows 8 or itunes

Help! Both of my ipods are refusing to be recognized by both windows 8 and itunes. I've tried many different things from redownloading itunes, plugging the cables into different usb ports, using different cables, etc. I'm upset because I have no other ipods availabe and I really cannot afford to buy another one.

  • 4 gen Ipod shuffle is not recognized by windows

I charged my 4 gen i pod shuffle and configured an updated i tunes to transfer songs (mp3 files) directly from my desktop. Nevertheless i tunes had showed ipod as a driver in the windows explorer and has also showed a mp3 files list from my desktop, I transfered only two mp3 files to the device, because, suddenly, ipod icon stopped to appear in the windows explorer. After that first time (it has happened yesterday), the green light now starts to blink 4 times.. but after that it won't response. Now, it is not recognized by my computer and by i tunes as well. I can't transfer more mp3 files to my i pod. Please, help.

  • A used iPod Nano is not recognized by Windows XP

I have an iPod Nano 2nd Gen, I have iTunes, that I cannot get to connect to my pc or iTunes and the iPod does charge(it acted like it). And when I connect the iPod to computer the computer says USB Device Not Reconized. Windows XP SP3. Formatted for Windows. Tried it with Windows XP SP2 and three different cables. What can I do?

    Hello there,
Have you tried some of the basics yet such as trying a different connector cable or simply plugging the iPod into different ports? Perhaps try and reset the iPod with it connected to your PC. To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off, then press and hold the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. You may want to attempt this a few times for good measure.
If still no luck, try and force the iPod into Disk Mode.

Here is more troubleshooting procedures to follow for this issue. It may eventually lead to you needing to uninstall and reinstall iTunes and all Apple software completely.

  • Ipod Shuffle is not recognized on Windows Laptop

    Hello,
since last week my 3 month old Shuffle is not recognized on any Windows Laptop. In addition it is not seen as a device, so I can't follow the hints you gave on this site.
When I connect it the orange light is turning on and out. The battery is recharging.
The reset of turning out for 5seconds doesn't help.
    Any ideas ?

My only suggestion is doe the laptop have any camera/scanner software that maybe interfering with the iPod showing in iTunes?
