IPod Video movie importing problems

I'm having issues importing h.264 mp4's into my new iPod Video. I get a message that says it can't be copied because it can't be played on this iPod. I originally imported all my Seinfeld that I own into my computer using Handbrake. I chose h.264/mp4 settings and it has been fine all along until now. I've had success using VisualHub to convert them into iPod ready format, but when I look at the video settings, nothing looks different as far as format.

Try converting with Instant Handbrake, that always works for me.
http://mirrors.m0k.org/handbrake/testing/Instant-HandBrake-20060421.dmg
Too bad none of my videos are visible anymore. I had all of Season 4 of Seinfeld. Now I get to bring up the hidden files to back it up and restore. That's gonna suck.

  • Movie importing problems (won't accept quicktime .mov files)

I have tried to import several movies, three of which are edited off of final cut pro and two which are dowloaded quicktime movies. I get the pop-up which says "Some of the videos in you iTunes library, including the video "Movie", were not copied to the iPod "My iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod." Every one of the movies has been converted into a quicktime movie and is a .mov file, which accoring to the web-site should be easily played on the iPod? Anyone know what I can do?

Even tho the files are.mov they also have to be a certain fps size (Frame Per Second). here is the exact details on what iPod supports best in the format you have
    MPEG-4
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
    Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio.

  • 30gb Ipod video on/off problem

For some strange reason my ipod does not want to turn off. I can let the battery die out and then charge it and then use it again, but if i wanted to simply turn it off after i stop using it. doesn't work. my play button works fine, pauses and continues playing fine, but when i hold the play button down, nothing happens. Anyone heard of this happening or know how to fix it?

Yes, iTunes is up to date, and has been installed properly -no problems at all.
There was (and is) no cell phone around my iPod. The volume didn't change on its own - but for me it was a bit loud, so I wanted to change the limit, so that I wouldn't go too far..and then this problem happened. There were I think about 200 photos, and they were uploaded through iTunes (this volume limit problem was there before I uploaded the photos though.) And I am manually uploading songs - I always did, on my old iPod too, since I go between 2 computers.

  • Ipod video album art problems

Hi i've just got a new 30Gb ipod video and synced it with a g4 powerbook. Everything worked fine until i tried to turn it on and listen to music. All songs without album art work fine but the ones with (which is about 2/3 of them) seem to be causing porblems. When i start a playlist the first track doesn't play, instead he ipod tries to load the album art. As soon as the album art appears, it skips onto the next track without playing anything at all, very frustrating! when eventually a song does start playing there is a 2 second silence after the song's started while it tries to load album art again. I thought maybe it was the art itself but songs bought from itunes with the official apple artwork appear to be worse if anything!?! anyone had any similar problems/solutions?
any help would be much apperciated

I'm having a problem with this as well. I bought a 2G iPod Touch for my gf and after putting in some of the albums from my library, certain albums are not showing the correct album. For instance, as I put in Nelly Furtado's album, it would end up showing Ne-Yo's album cover. I checked in iTunes to make sure the correct album was in there which it was. Is this some kind of bug?

  • Fuji Finepix iPhoto movie import problems

iPhoto won't let me import any movies from my Fuji Finepix camera that's over two/three minutes long. I've plugged my camera into a friend PC and it imported the movie with out any problems. There's no problems with importing photos at all, or movies under two minutes. It just doesn't recognize movies over 2 minutes.
I have plenty of space on my HD to accommodate these movies.
    I'm using iPhoto 6.0.6
any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    thx

    Hi.
I have had the same problem with iPhoto 6 not importing my longer video clips. I do use a card reader. When iPhoto won't import a movie, the workaround is to use Image Capture. Select "Download Some" and switch the window to List view to preview the files on the card. Select the movies and upload to a Desktop folder. Ignore the blue progress meter - it seems to go from 0 to 100% with no indication of actual progress. It can take several minutes, but I've learned to be patient and the clips will eventually appear on the Desktop. Once there, iPhoto has had no trouble importing them into the Library.
    Regards.

  • IPod Video Connection & Sync Problem on Abit IS7 Windoze Pentium 4

    Hello,
I'm posting this to help anyone else out with the same problems. I'm using a Pentium 4 2.8ghz Processor on a Abit IS7 Motherboard running Windoze XP Home and 1 Gig DDR400.
The Motherboard is equipped with USB 2.0's and 1394 Firewire ports. I got a 30 Gig Video ipod the other day and was having a nightmare connecting it and syncing with iTunes.
It was hanging painfully slow and would sometimes eject the ipod, and lock up iTunes. I tried the 5 R's on the ipod, even reformatting the ipod. Still the same deal. For Kicks I plugged the ipod into my old G3 300mhz Blue & White Powermac. And it sync'd with itunes, and mounted fast. Even with the old USB 1.1's. That's when I knew exactly where my problem was.
Today I went to Stooples and Bought a Belkin F5U219v1 3 port USB 2.0 Card. My problems were instantly solved for the cost of a decent meal..
    Specs of Pentium 4
    P4 2.8Ghz 800mhz FSB
    Abit IS7 Motherboard
    1 Gig DDR400
    Radeon 256meg PCI Video
    Seagate SATA 400Gig HD
    XP Home SP2
    Powermac Specs
    G3 300mhz Rev1 Motherboard
    768Meg Ram
    20 Gig IDE Hard Drive
    16 Meg Rage128 Video
    OS 10.3.9
This drove me deeper into the insanity that already consumes my life.. I hope this will help out someone else before they too go completely nuts.

Yes all my other USB equipment works on the motherboards USB Ports. Laser Printer, Mouse, Razr Sync Cable, and a couple others too.
I was lost... When I figured out that it was the PC not my iPod I was beyond PO'd at myself for not seeing it earlier.
Here's a tip that card runs for 30 dollars, at staples Take 3 old ink carts with you, and you can knock 9 dollars off the price! It's a real screaming deal when you do that! If you see a Hp or Lexmark printer in the garbage nab the carts! Just watch your hands and clothes.
Glad to help someone else, and those two boards are REALLY Similar, they have the same disease crappy Intel Chipset syndrome. Last intel machine for me, when I upgrade I'll most likely go for a AMD, or maybe a new PowerMac If that's in the budget. At least the mac will hold its value for more than 10 minutes.

  • Movie importing problem

    1. I have chosen the "Reflection" theme template.
    2. I have used the edit drop zone feature and imported jpgs for the motion slides that move from right to left.
    3. I have dragged a .mov from my desktop and placed it in the area of the translucent pane in the template, a yellow dot and a box with the file name appearred.
    4. When I tried to adjust the location of the movie on the pane and edit its name by selecting it the template name box to the right "Reflection Main" is highlighted and moves as if it was selected, while my mouse is still on the movie name.
I have tried going to the edit menu and selected "select none" and it does de-select the Reflection Main box but the process repeats itself when I have tried again.
Also when I review the project and try to start the movie by clicking on the file name - it is not selectable - nothing happens.
I am tring to make a DVD that will auto start to the slide show of the reflection template and when one clicks on the movie name it will then play the movie.
    Please help,
    jim

  • Video file import problem

I just bought flip4mac for importing asf video files into Soundtrack Pro. I can import them into Quicktime and play them fine but when I try to import them into Soundtrack Pro, a WMV importing progress bar comes up but when it is finished, there is no video file loaded, just blank as if I had imported nothing. Does anyone know if Soundtrack Pro is supported by flip4mac? Could anyone tell me how I can get this to work, or alternatively what is the best way to import or convert asf files? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thanks for that jimlongo. I don't have QuickTime Pro, only the player. However, the idea of Flip4mac is to be able to import these kind of formats directly into editing software. In fact, I did just succeed in importing a shorter asf video clip (45 secs). Perhaps it was the length of the other files? They were well over an hour in length, full movies really. It says in the STP manual that movies can be up to 4 hours in length but is there something I need to set up in order for it to accept longer videos? Apologies for the newbie questions but I am only getting started with the programme having been a Logic user for many years.

  • Ipod video + screen discoloration problem

    hi,
i just bought the new 30gb ipod with video.
last night when i switched off the ipod, it was in perfect condition, but tody in the morning..i discovered tht the screen has weird light and dark patches (these r not surface patches) when the ipod is switched on there is weird colors coming on the screen... very similar to how a screen behaves when some magnetic material is brought close to it!!!
could this be a bad hardware problem which warrants a replacement? or is there a way to get rid of this problem and avoid it in the future?
please let me know asap.. so tht if the ipod needs to be replaced i can send it with my colleague to japan for replacement!!!
    please help!!!
    thanks in advance
    siddharth

Yeah I've noticed that too; Don't worry it's normal, I went to the Apple store and all their iPods have that rainbow; don't let it bug you.

  • Photo to movie import problem

Just purchased Photo to Movie. Made first movie which I want to import to iMovie project. For some reason, labeled unknown error, the import won't occur. What to do?

I’m not real familiar with this app (since i personally use Apple's iPhoto or Adobe's PS and not LQ Graphics). Have you tried using iPhoto instead? iPhoto likely interfaces with iMovie much better than LQ Graphics apps. Nevertheless, i did do a search for you and found the following which you may already know....
What version of QT are you using? (Photo to Movie mandates QT 6.5.2 or later).
Also what version of Photo to Movie did you install?
Is it version 3.2.3 or later?

Have followed help advice to import video file from my p.C to Itunes, however nothing appears to be imported!?!?

    Hey Littsy,
Are you seeing any error messages?
Click on File(inside iTunes)> Add File to Library>select the file.
What type of video file are you trying to add to itunes? Where did the video come from?

  • This is my last hope before I go and return my Ipod Video! iTunes problem!

Well i've been trying for two days to get iTunes to download on my computer (Windows XP) and everytime i try it goes for a while and then a message shows up saying...
    "Could not open key:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE/Software/Classes/.cdda/Open
WithProgIds. Verify that you have sufficent access to
that key, or contact your support personnel."
...and I have absolutely no clue what it means. If anyone can help I sure would appreiciate it!

I haven't ever had a problem with the I-Pod itself. It's the I-Tunes that *****. I don't think you'll get it working tomorrow and I don't think it's because there's too many people using it due to the Christmas rush. I really don't think you'll get it working tomorrow. If you do, let us know. I've been waiting 3 weeks and have spent close to 15 hours of my time trying to get I-Tunes to work.
I'll hold out hope though and hope that you can get your's working though. Good luck!
